It is ignorance of the electoral act and some confusing statements from INEC that gave people a wrong understanding of what electronic transmission meant the newspapers have either been equally lazy or want to keep attracting people with click and bait. Below is my bvas and irev precis.

BVAS is solely fotr accreditation and to prevent over voting and ballot stuffing. It succeeded. IreV is a data platform that confirms polling unit data. It is not an evidence for automatic transmission. The votes are counted manually from ballot papers and entered manually on form EC8A. The relationship between the two was that the BVAS is used to transmit the picture of Form EC8A, which was the Polling Unit Result Sheet in PDF format, ( all political party agents have a signed copy of this form) as well as the Voters’ Accreditation Data to the IREV.


Anyone that knows data format knows that PDF format is not a suitable format for aggregating data unless there is a secondary data scraping process. If you want to directly aggregate data you would use formats like comma seperated values. No data scraping process was promised or delivered by INEC.

The glitches suffered by the IReV for some hours on 25th February could not have affected the functionality of the BVAS, which in any case, performed its duty excellently on election day.[/b]

Yes Court granted the LP the leave to go inspect the bvas and the election materials used for the presidential election but the INEC never allow them to inspect anything, all they do is to rush to seek for court order for reconfiguration of the bvas. So if u be LP what will u do?

Labour party should quit trying to impress their supporters that they are zealous about non existence mandate. Obi has lost and instead for him to concede and enjoy that goodwill in the next election, he chose to ruin it by himself.

So laughable. Is it reconfiguration of a device that INEC itself has not well lived up to expectations with that you refer to as security risk?
Will LP operate BVAS at the Polling Unit or collation centres?
Is LP the only political party? Can't other political parties including the APC be made to be present to make the process transparent?
There's a great deal of difference between intelligence gathering and espionage. So much of presenting confidentiality of a process which has prints of failures. No wonder on the IReV some of the results sent in by the BVAS are pictures of people in their homes, one wonders how BVAS that was supposed to be deployed and used only between INEC offices, collation centres and Polling units ended up in homes, yet you shout "security of the reconfiguration of BVAS".

Just like a customer will request to participate in how his banks will load money in ATM machine or how banks configure ATM machines, if INEC should allow the Labour party they should equally allow all the 20 political parties too
