I don't believe this, you guys can do better without inciting tribalism

EVERYDAY, IGBO THIS, IGBO THAT, NONSTOP.

YOU GOT IT RIGHT, OP IS ONLY INCITING TRIBALISM.

PAINTING A NARRATIVE ABOUT AFRICA BRIDE-PRICE TRADITION, BUT TARGETING IGBO PEOPLE.

ACROSS AFRICA BRIDE PRICE ARE PAID AS A MARRIAGE RITE, IT IS ONLY YORUBA THAT I HAVE HEARD DONT DO BRIDE PRICE.

NOW, U WOULD EXPECT YORUBA MEN TO BE MARRYING THEIR FREE WOMEN BUT NO, IT IS IGBO WOMEN WITH BRIDE PRICE.

OK MARRY AND GO QUIETLY, NO, IGBO SHOULD ABANDON THEIR CULTURE AND FOLLOW YORUBA WAY.

EVEN THE MOST POOREST PEOPLE IN SE ARE ALL MARRIED AND NO PROBLEM.

BRIDE PRICE IS A PROUD AFRICAN CULTURE AND HAS NEVER BEEN A BARRIER TO MARRIAGE FROM THEN TILL NOW.

PEOPLE THAT WANT TO MARRY DO SO DAILY, NOT OPENING TRIBALISTIC THREAD ON NAIRALAND TO CHAT SHIT.

I meet this lady in December 2019 and by 2020 we had the opportunity to connect with each other on a friendship level. From my interactions with her and observations, she is cool-headed and calm, intelligent and ambitious. Her skills match someone I dream of marrying. She is from Anambra, state - Umuoji

However, as a low-budget guy, I am weighing my options due to stereotype of demanding for a gargantuan bride price.

I want to know if what people are saying online is true or exaggerated

Are you minding him , he should stick to his tribe , I don't even know the lady that's forcing herself on him.

I know that after the election, they'll start coming up with boring relationship stories , even the unserious ones , they will also have something to say .

They ain't tired of inciting tribalism.

You are certainly not going to do this. Your thought is already attracting this. You got open time to change that perspective and go pay that bride price now.

Btw, your question sef is insensitive in the wake of the current massive discrimination against the Igbos. You should have allowed us drink water drop cup on top the matter first before bringing your own matter. Igbophobia kor, livephobia ni!

Isn't it clear that the OP himself is Igbo?

Looks so to me.

Where are you from? This will help to properly advise you because the advise I will give an Igbo guy facing this situation is not the same I will give to a Yoruba or Hausa guy with the same situation.

All tribes of people complain of costs.

Even rich men count the costs. And although they don't complain, when things go awry you hear things like: after all I did for her/her family.

Nigeria is largely a poor country so it's hard to find a tribe in which even 20% are well to do. I.e. Rich.

From your siggy and posts you're a a tinubu's urchin. You are busy yabbing peter obi and easterners up and down. Why loat after a flathd daughter? Why not marry your fellow cone structures? Abi you wan mix your ugly gene with the angels of the easts? If you finally pay the bribe, invite me and I would come with my fellow flathds to plank your head. I' m from Anambra and I'm proudly obidient Igboman that hates conehds with passion. Kindly stay away from Anambra if you wish to still stay alive. Marry your ugly and dirty Ilorin she-goats.

I'm sure in your little mind you think "igbophobia" means fear of igbo people.

But based on current happening in Nigeria, igbophobia means hatred of igbo people.

Shey you see how you shot yourself in the foot. How can you be in love with someone you hate? undecided

Can you apply this logic to LP candidate in Lagos also, because every Yoruba wonder why he wants to rule people that he hate, oh I forget you all already claim Lagos is not Yoruba land

Na hearsay you wan take marry woman.

Please don't marry her because you will obviously apply gossips trends in how treat her.

You haven't gone for yourself, yet you are complaining.

Pro Tips:
Dress averagely and don't appear big (so they don't over bill you) or poor (so they don't reject you).

You can always negotiate and come back later to pay after hustling enough for it.

Oga, am from Anambra State, our sister or daughter marital rites are not exorbitant,

My advice for you is to ask the gal where she is not aware, you can do little introduction and ask for list.

From the list, you will know if you can go further

Listen up bro, make the move, don't bother asking her.
My friend married from Anambra (Orifite), it wasn't a big deal. He was as scared as you are so we encouraged him to make the move. He's enjoying his ipobian kpekus now. Lolz.

Warning: If you are the type that plays the card of ALPHA MALE, then abort mission, Anambra ladies are raised to be independent, if you do anyhow you'll see anyhow.
