SIRTee15:
If your plan of relocating to UK is to build a mansion in lekki or maitama u better stay back in naija.
Except u are a professional and u coming straight out of the plane to work as a professional, saving 400k per month with a family to feed is a mirage.
It will take u at least 4 to 5 good years of hard work, acquiring new skills, determination and little dose of luck to be able to save 1000 pounds monthly. UK at the moment is not a joke. U need to have a good job to enjoy the place.
So if u have a good job in Nigeria I wouldn't advise you to come.
Tanks for your respond sir...but I never said me n my family! Only said myself and wife alone...

Wow, thanks boss. But what if I earn that 7000euro in Nigeria will do very fine an just asking bro
Really depends on what you want.
As for me, I consider myself a global citizen, I will not limit my life and investments to one country.
Some people think UK is a hard place to survive, but it's not. It's a lot easier than US with the correct visa. Expensive, yes, but with your minimum income, you'll be fine. It's for people who just want a normal life and peace of mind. In fact if you're not careful, you'll get too comfortable on that income. If you want a big life, and you're not into IT or medicals (or real estate), stay in naija and hope you hammer someday.

How much can someone use to startup real estate in the uk

British supermarkets also waste food, if the discounted food is not sold it ends up in the waste bin but homeless people go there every single night for bin-diving.
I was referring to the fact that US retailers don't even bother to sell at a discount before dumping the items in the waste bin. UK stores will at least sell at a discount then trash the items once it expires. I was trying to highlight the difference bw the US & British perspectives.

All those quoting me saying it's a lie.
Of course, care and support is unskilled work.

I will use an example, a single guy living outside of London. Assuming you work in the same city where you work. These figures are as close to actual as possible. If you live in UK and and I'm wrong, bring us actual figures!

Let's say you earn £1,800 monthly:
Tax + NI - £400
Rent (studio flat + bills) - £600
One month bus ticket - £55
Food and groceries - £100
Car finance, e.g. Audi A1 - £227 (down payment is around £2k plus)
Total monthly expenses - £1,382
You still have £418 for other expenses and savings. But anything else you spend on will be wants not needs.

Council tax £80 if it's not included in your rent.
The UK guys don't want us to come and flood the place for them.
What does someone need an Audi A1 for? I believe there are more affordable options.

Very very tough. Where I reside , when you were returning from the church on your local Africa cloth, the kids would be shouting at you, black , man , black man . Spitting at you inside train and buses. Damaging your house before coming back from work. The kids behave like area boys. At any time , you would just hear heavy bang on your door and windows. By the time you opened doors you would not see anybody. At work , The same institutional racist until you get sacked or dismissed. They worked against any of your movements. You remains in the same post till Jesus come. A little bit better now. Is it their fault ?
My sympathies for the bold, but please what is the name of these places or the regions in the UK?

I don't get these UK people. They are the ones to create YouTube channels, blogs and what have you after leaving Nigeria. It's like UK is synonymous with ofofo or tatafo

I have my WhatsApp status blowing up everytime from so many of them with funky ass titles, like 'How to get to UK without POF' , "How to pay your school fees with 20hrs of work', How to...."smack their faces"... Just zip it.

I'm tired of UK people. Shuuuuu
It's like you don't get it, it is not like they are actually happy showcasing and putting all their personal ass (life) out there for public consumption, but na condition make crayfish bend.

YouTube is actually used as a hustle to make money in order to be able to meet up with all the bills.
Did you miss bro shaggi's story where he said he makes 40m monthly from his YouTube adventure.

See those guys are not releasing all those videos with joy of mind as in unto say they want you to know what's happening to them for real.
It's just for the money they stand to generate from the YouTube channel, and you know it's tied to the number of views.

Yes dear, I will, when life is less stressful and complicated. Unfortunately 98% of those that started the story would have moved on, so I'll be writing it for closure. smiley

I read it in 2017 during my final year in school... I find it an interesting read. Recommended to a friend, unfortunately, he can't relate....

I've moved on too, just couldn't keep my hands to myself when I saw the link on your signature....

Good looking out to you though 👌

The big cities are generally more tolerable for colored people than smaller towns (which are predominantly white population, most of whom are unexposed). It's better to live in places where colored people are many.

That being said, racism is everywhere. We are even worse than whites in Nigeria. See all the tribalism that played out on the elections, Yoruba/Igbo nonsense fight. The way Yoruba people are against Igbo as sojourners in Lagos, who wants to eat the fruit of the land, whites too are against blacks from coming to eat all the wealth of their own land. THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE.

I live in America, let me tell you, American retailers would rather die than sell 'About to expire' groceries at a discount. 'About to Expire' items are discarded in large numbers instead of being sold at a discount. I follow an account on instagram that documents food and retail waste at American stores. It is a sad story. And yet, a good number of Americans are starving.

It gives me joy to know that the Brits sell at a discount. It reduces waste and helps feed the poor - Two things American capitalism don't care about.
I think the reason American retailers would rather discard "About to expire goods" than sell them at a discount has nothing to do with capitalism, they are probably trying to avoid law suits.

Any Joe in America could wake up and sue your arse for millions of dollars while claiming that he got sick after consuming the "bout to expire goods" you sold to a third party!

In those days it was so horrible. Then , the black people were so few . We knew ourselves. Where I worked I was the only black there. There was no place that was not discriminated upon. By 2004 , they started sending those assylum seekers to the community and reducing tension on few of us living there . I live now at killingworth area. Previously, I was living at Walker areas dominated by the indigenous people. Even , up till now, the area is not good for black people. I bought my house there and I have to sell the house at the end of the day. The house was extremely damaged before I sold it. I was given police protection. There wás an emergency bell that was installed by the police to the house. Anytime they attacked me and my family, ounce I pressed the bell, the police will come directly. Before the police arrived , they would not see them because they always come with their sirren. Later , they stopped disturbing me.

This might be possible but the calculation isn't that complete. Well as a couple with no kids. You stand a good chance of saving more money as your schedule will accommodate both of you working without considering the kids. But you didn't deduct tax and Ni and pension from the salary. You didn't include bills ,we've got Council tax ,phone bill, broadband. Transport ,feeding and miscellaneous. Doing calculation from outside the UK can be misleading sometimes but I will never discourage anybody from coming to the UK. But don't come with high expectations. Just come first and be ready for the survival stage with time you get to the enjoyment stage. People should forget about calculating how much can be saved at first. Because you might get here and be able to save above your expectations or you start requesting money from Nigeria to get your footings first. The best set of people that I think can easily enjoy the relocation process are the high skilled worker, then couple who has no kids yet.
StreetFight:
You can save 1000 Pounds per month.

If your wife works for 20 hours per week as a student, that makes it 90 hours per month because there are four and a half weeks in a month. If the pay is 10 pounds per hour, that means that 90 hours will fetch her 900 Pounds.

You as a dependant can work up to 55 hours per week, Let even say you work only 40 hours per week., that makes is 180 hours per month. If the pay is 10 pounds per hour, that means that 90 hours will fetch her 1800 Pounds.

House rent = 1,000 Pounds (2 or 3 bedroom depending on so many factors)
Electricity = 200 Pounds (them is is high, but let use it)
Feeding = 200 Pounds
Transport = 100 Pounds

TOTAL monthly expenses = 1,500 Pounds
TOTAL Wage by husband and wife = 2,700 Pounds

I have evidences, but not for the public.

If there is anyone here who thinks my quote up there is fake, let the person come and say with his/her own analysis.

Don't let your village people hold you down, let's go and make money there, then come back and take over this government. You cannot wrestle power from Emilokan Tinubu or Atikulation Abubakar without lots of billions

I doubt what you wrote here. Making ₦400,000 in the UK after expenses will be that hard in one month even at high exchange rate. Am beginning to doubt the sincerity of information on this forum. A friend encouraged me to relocate. He is doing well with his family. If it has gotten to ₦400,000 a month then no point coming
