Salisu Yusuf has taken our football 50 years backward. Ethnicity and religion have destroyed our football.
Ethnicity and religion? just say Salisu and NFF mess up.Nigeria football is beyond ethnicity and religion.

This is what happens when national team call up is for the highest bidder.

Imagine calling up players from the English 9th division, a player from Azerbaijan 2nd Division just signed a few weeks ago. Players with no clubs.

Wouldn't be surprised if Salisu gets rewarded with another national team job.

Bunch of mediocres
Yes when we all believed that nothing good can come out of NPFL then 9th division player from Europe will get invitation....it all started with Rohr inviting a division four player to eagles camp....see we never see anything..Imagine Salisu and Bosso still coaching national teams when we have Finidi George and Emma Amuneke

Sir, it's even a mistake expecting some good performance from Finidi, Emma etc because over the years Nigerian coaches have shown affinity to bribe and selfish interests in selection.
U20/U17 is completely different from the Senior team. Most of these guys are only after their pocket by sending out invitation to players that'll remit.

Missing back to back Olympics is really painful... It's more painful for the super falcons who have missed 3 straight Olympics...

I won't be surprised if Salisu retains his job in the national team after all these....

Influencial people in government are making decisions for NFF. They are godfather's to Isah Ladan Bosso,Salisu Yusuf,Shehu Abdulahi,Ahmed Musa,Makajuola Success and more. This information is from a reliable source. NFF are not daft to keep on hiring a serial failure like Salisu. There hands are tied.

Why are their hands tied? Because of their dependency on the government for funding?

Sir,I don’t want us to go this way cuz some will not see reason in our discourse and better not to turn this thread to political sections where everything goes...now we have NFF president from the north but our brother from South Amaju Pinnick made these appointments....as I said the issue with Nigeria football is beyond ethnicity and religion. It is all about corruption.

No Nigeria coach is a saint…agreed

However even if u want to collect bribe,at less cover it up with ur intelligence shown on d team,we can’t be losing in both ways

Inviting ur own mediocre players and also losing important matches dere by causing pains to d fans

I will prefer a corrupt Samson siasia fine football team to a dumb ladan bosso/Salish team😏

Not when it pertains to a crime. It's like saying an NFF chairman who commits murder may not be arrested cause of FIFA sanction. Even FIFA went through same scrutiny, that's why Blatter and Spaletti were booted out.

If there are actionable evidence of financial crimes, they can be arrested.

No. Their hands are not tied. They are just as corrupt as those influencing them. We have government agencies in these same countries under total government control in financing and personnel whose directors do not tow the Iine of corruption and gets the job done. Akumyili of Nafdac and Otteh of the Nigerian Stock exchange are examples.

How much more the NFF who somewhat has been given immunity against government interference from FIFA, and not just get millions of dollars in funding from FIFA yearly, but can also self finance by seeking partnerships sponsorship deals; something these other agencies cannot do.

They are just inept and corrupt simple. Their hands are not tied.

Kelechi Nwakali makes Team of the Week AGAIN!

For the 2nd match round in a row, Kelechi's midfield showing earns him a TOTW slot in La Liga Smartbank (La Liga 2).

Tuttosport - Bayern willing to go crazy for Osimhen: monstrous sums plus bonuses on the plate

Strong interest of Bayern Munich for Victor Osimhen. Today's edition of Tuttosport writes:
Bayern Munich have strong interest in Victor Osimhen . Today's edition of Tuttosport writes about it: "Bayern Munich is in very strong pressure on the Nigerian attacker, willing to go crazy. With the Bavarian club there is a more than open discussion on a monstrous figure of 120 million plus bonuses Impossible to resist. I

However, his national teammate Alex Iwobi, Everton's midfielder, has declared in the past few hours that "Victor has the ambition to play in the Premier League", and in fact Manchester United has been trying to enter the negotiation between Napoli and Bayern for a few weeks Monk".

Apparently, not just the NFF,but all the sports federations in the country are incompetent.. the NBBF and AFN particularly... Plenty of Nigerian athletes are now moving to colleges in the US for athletic programmes cus it's the best place for them to develop...we don't have the facilities here... It is time we get ready to fight FIFA with the Court of Arbitration. When the French Government investigated their FA, FIFa was mute. If the Government of Nigeria is interested in cleaning the NFF, they should get ready to fight FIFA. As soon as FIFA bans us, put in a petition and file a case with the Court of Arbitration, let us see if FIFA won't lose.

Amidst all that, we should ask the most important question: is the government ready to cleanse our sports administration and rid it of corruption? I mean, the government itself is corrupt...

No sir

Incompetence and Mediocrity has. We shouldn't bring ethno-religious colouration to the conversation. Gasau didn't even appoint these coaches, Pinnick did. They are simply just mediocre, let's leave religion and ethnicity out of it.

In Nigeria, you can't rule out ethnicity and religion.

What zuchyblink means is mediocrity because they are not incompetent since they already play football professionally they are not good enough to play for any of the national teams.

Then mediocre coaches.. Pinnick could have also made the appointments because he didn't want to be seen as a tribalist.

At least he could have appointed Tijani Babangida or Celestine babayaro or any other high performing northern nigerian descent coach or ex-players.

playing football and administration are two different areas I'm afraid. There is no guarantee a footballer will run the federation better than this guys Sha.

Football should be run by ex-footballers..

Whether they run it better or not does not matter. If they fail then other ex-footballers should replace them..

If a refereeing governing body is run and headed only by ex-referees then the football governing body should also be run and headed by ex-footballers.

There's no need to fight FIFA. We just love misinterpreting FIFA laws. CAS does not take cases that are criminal in nature. That is solely a government matter.

The independence of football associations does not prevent them from being indicted for criminal offence. It only pertains to civil, political and administration issues. Like the government pressuring the team to campaign for political cause or them trying to resolve disputes, employ coaches or draft team lists.

When it comes to criminal matters, there's nothing like immunity. The government has every right to investigate arrest and charge anybody inside NFF collecting bribe. No matter the reason, collecting bribe inside Nigeria is a criminal offence. The government is not just interested in such because they too are culprits. They only like to interfere when it comes to choosing people.

Sepp blatter and Platini were investigated by both the US government and Swiss governments. They were charged by the Swiss government.
