Yes, but not all. Many are indeed innocent ordinary naive Shareholders/ Investors many of whom were simply victims of "Stock/Financial Analysts"

For me, I think it's majorly a Regulatory failure. We lack strong and effective Institutions in Nigeria.

I have issues with the financial health of this company, with a negative working capital of about N60 billion, it will take the current FCF of the company about 10 years to liquidate the existing debts of the company.

No wonder dividends will be paid in August 2023. The dividend declared is even higher than the Free cash flow of the business, this is another red flag.

This is the type of stock you should not do long term investment with because of its potential business and financial risks

A stock you want to invest in for the long term should have at least 2 out of these 3 characteristics

1. Quality: financial health, good balance sheet, healthy working capital, efficiency in terms of ROIC, ROCE, CROIC, CFROI, right blend of equity and debt, profit margin, solid free cash flow

2, Growth: earning growth, revenue growth, profit margin growth, free cash flow growth, organic increase in equity.

3. Valuation: the stock is selling at a fair price and also has a margin of safety.

The stock that will pay its dividend in August is growing although the growth is slowing down.

The quality is poor and the valuation is on the high side.

EV/FCF of over 40, PE ratio of about 34, price book value ratio of about 8

...but Oga Emma, compare to 2021, this is a better report. There is increase in revenue, net income, earnings per share, ROE, debt-to-equity ratio & free cash flow. The only challenge on the price chart is that it's overbought & pulling back to buying zone.

1. Quality
2. Growth
3. Valuation

It failed in quality and valuation.

Return On Equity was 24.6%, there is a relationship between return on equity and the price book value.

It has a price book value ratio of 8 and PE of over 33.

From my chart with a return on equity of 24.6% the price book value ratio should be 2.72 and PE should be around 11.

Enterprise Value of about N3.46 Trillion as at the last time I crunched the figures EBIT of N132 billion and FCF of about N42 billion.

Do the maths EV/EBIT and EV/FCF.

It is damn too expensive. I hope 3 years from now some people won't call NGX a scam.

I see a situation whereby some people are trying to pump and manage the stock price in order to enhance their Forbes list rating

I booked my loss about 8 years ago or thereabout, sold for between N20 and N24

I sold mine at a loss too, sometime in Nov/Dec, 2013, but funny enough, it was caused by Cashcraft's trading suspension. I was in a very good profit. I gave a sell madate to Cashcraft not knowing they were placed on trading suspension few days before. When I saw they didn't execute my sell order despite Oando was on full bid, I investigated and discovered they were on trading suspension. I confronted them and they opened up but assured me that it had been resolved and that the suspension will be lifted within a day or two. But that didn't happen. Fews weeks had passed and I noticed the bid/price was dropping so I decided to move my ac to BGL Securities so I could book my profit which had dropped, but that process also took weeks by which time my huge profit had been completely wiped off and I was now even in little loss of my capital before I could finally sell off my holdings. It was and remains my saddest experience in stock biz.

I think govt need to do more to protect investors in the stock market. Our Rules and Related Laws, especially the Investment and Securities Act, ISA should be amended to allow a seamless transfer of stock ac e.g make a provision that allows a Stock ac holder to simply write a letter to CSCS to transfer his /her ac to a broker of his/her choice. Or maybe directly purnish the management of such erring brokers while allowing continued/ uninterrupted trading activies on customers ac.

I think it will create a level playing ground for players in the sector. I am of the opinion that it will be good for businesses and shareholders who have investments in the sector

Removing subsidy is easier said than done.
The effect on the economy will be huge.
Imaging buying petrol at N750.
The incoming president has a daunting task on the subsidy issue and with ajaero as NLC president, it will be a long drawn battle.

BUACEMENT fare value should be around 27 naira.

DANGCEM fare value should be around 214 naira.

WAPCO fare value should be around 32 naira. (Buy @ current price and be sure of 30% on ur money grin )

It was quite embarrassing that I misspelled "fair" three times in a row. embarassed

However, I reviewed the fair value of BUACEMENT, WAPCO, and DANGCEM based on their audited 2022 results. Here are my back of the envelope results: BUACEMENT has a fair value of #30, WAPCO has a fair value of #33, and DANGCEM has a fair value of #224.

Out of the three, only WAPCO appears to be undervalued. Despite having a similar equity as BUACEMENT, WAPCO's PAT was half that of BUA, seriously, WAPCO can do better. BUACEMENT had a good ROE of 25%, but massively overvalued. On the other hand, DANGCEM had an impressive ROE of 35%, but slightly overvalued.

To stroke my Ego a bit grin , I should mention that the day after my December post, WAPCO was selling at 23.45, and it has since gained 10%.

For Dangote cement with a return on equity of 35%, from my chart the price book value should 4 and Price earning ratio should be 11.4.

At a book value of N64, it should sell at N256 at an EPS 22.3 it should sell at N254..

If you give provision of 10% for margin of safety, it will be okay at N230

never filled or submitted any e-dividend forms for geregu, yet i got my dividend. Bought through Morgan.

You don't need to fill e-dividend mandate forms for all stocks. One mandate per registrar is enough.
