Heffalump:
Mr Grammar, no amount of English will save you and Tinubu.
We are wiser than you think.
The whole world knew Tinubu rigged and procured electoral victory.
If he did, he won’t survive it.

You see, she was just being childish. She said she expected her candidate to win based on predicted polls. This is where I faulted her.

Which predicted polls?

Polls conducted by Peterside Atodo?

The same Peterside Atodo that hired his private chopper to Obi for campaign?

Haba, what credible poll do you expect from him?

Well, a woman would always be a woman.

She couldn't manage her emotion but she went too far.

Politics in Nigeria is not totally based on predicted polls. 2 days to election, in fact 24 hrs to election, anything can happen that would change the narrative. You see some movements across party lines. Some weak parties collapsing for stronger parties even on the eve of election. Everyone would want to be with a suspected winner.

Problem with polls in Nigeria..

1,Peterside was not the only person that conducted polls...a lot of people conducted polls.

2.The problem with the polls...all of them, was that they were limited to educated city dwellers. The group that was most likely to support Peter Obi because he is one of them, regardless of tribe

Eg...Bloomberg's poll...was conducted by phone-in...which was concentrated around cities. That's not very accurate

3.A more accurate poll would have been conducted around villages, towns and as many states as possible. Such polls take time, money and effort which most pollsters do not have.

iF i was doing the poll, I would have done it in 24 states, using 5 -6 lga per state and also the state capitals. That's a lot of travelling, journeys and so on, and we haven't even talked about how we would sample within LGA and villages. All that adds up to MONEY...because the people administering the questionaire won't do it for free.

4.Anyway, the polls were right in the sense that they did predict most people did not support APC.

Did you even read her writing at all?

Is it possible for another country's President to annul another's election?

Why didn't USA congratulate Nigeria immediately election was concluded like those countries who did ever since?
Why until Lai Mohammed came around to US, to force a congratulatory message out of them?

She didn't expect US to cancel anything, US could have as well kept or maintained their silence they have held into since.

She didn't throw away her citizenship of Nigeria, if she decided to say something which many less than her paygrade have been saying, why crucifying her?

Wole Soyinka refused national award.
China Achebe refused national award.
Gani Fawehinmi refused national award.
And so many others.
She refusing national award doesn't make her opinion equal to noise making.

I am not really her fan, but it is odious and unthinkable for APC and their ilks to think people who feel cheated should keep dumb-silent just because they won. Did they actually win, free and fair, is a question begging answer.

If it were the other way round, would APC keep silent?

All the years of PDP, the records of unprintable things that AD, AC, APC and Buhari's former party did and said are out there in the media.
Funny enough, APC in power today has done more than they ever accused PDP of doing. So, what really is the issue of not being tolerant when opposition speaks up?

Hypocrites and bandwagons

She's getting these attacks bcoz of history. As you're aware, 30 yrs ago, your people East did not vote for MKO Abiola SDP but he got the votes of south west, south south and the North. So, he won.

In fairness to Chief Ezeife (I don't want to distort history), then Gov of Anambra State, he supported MKO Abiola SDP and he delivered his state for SDP. It was the only state SDP won in the East.

When the final results were being announced, it was some of your people led by Chief Francis Arthur Nzeribe that went to court to scuttle it by getting an injunction to stop the announcement.

That was how the election was cancelled and led to riots and protests all over except in the East. I say this bcoz I was in the East then.

So, when Yorubas see another descendants of Chief Francis Arthur Nzeribe writing letters, you don't expect them to fold their arms and be watching her.

Abiola won marginally in only one state in the East. Igbos voted against Olu Falae, a Yoruba man (the real Yoruba interest) and Obasanjo ended up being a beneficiary.

Always put things in right perspective. grin
Obasanjo has become a non yoruba just for selfish interest. Just like the way you people rejected Gbadebo. This is truly shameful.

You carried gun against me during Igbo Coup in 1966, you killed my leaders e.g Akintola and even the only Yoruba that supported your coup. Igbo didn't vote Abiola, you voted Abiola and still went ahead to remove him? Obasanjo is not our choice, we voted against him nd you supported him. You should keep shut when talking about drug, you people are known for drug trafficking. You want to scatter our people by telling Oyedepo to divide us along religion lines.
So Obasanjo seized to be a yoruba man? Just like the way you denied your own son Gbadebo because he has a tinge of Igbo blood in him?
You guys are really pathetic. No need engaging you

Nothing special. A tribal bigot trying so hard to support his tribes man who shamelessly stole mandate from the people. No deep sense of reason to reckon with but just a poorly orchestrated grammatical exuberance. WERE ARE ELDERS OF THIS COUNTRY?

Who in Igbo land have you supported politically?
Igbos supported Obasanjo even with a northern vice "Atiku" even when ojukwu was contesting, so you from SW which Igbo candidate have you supported before?
Did you hear Igbo attacked any Yoruba during the last election? Can you say so too? Did Tinubu steal Igbo vote in Rivers let's leave Lagos first.
Who is the real enemy of who?
Stop deceiving yourself, 80 children was kidnapped in zamfara yesterday, 46 were killed in Benue but Igbos are still your enemy grin

I didn't see anything insultive in adichie's letter to USA. She pointed out the brazen illegality that characterized this election. I personally knew that is what will happen, result not being uploaded at the polling uni. I for sure knew that's the thing to happen and technical issues will be cited as well as need for improvement. Why can't inec simply upload that result from the polling unit, and whoever wins, will rule. That's it. Very simple thing. INEC has set a precedent whereby in any election, they will do what they like with the ruling party, and because of peace agreement, need for peace and bloodshed, everyone will say follow court process. That is wrong. No wonder the white man always look at black people with suspicion because we don't like law, order and established way of doing things.
