That's a real Lagos indigene talking, Who else noticed how the young bloods in the gangs of Lagos movie kept insisting that the gangster lords were not Lagos indigenes but came from somewhere to hijack leadership in Lagos.

Which real Lagos indigene?
Someone that’s a decendant of a returnee slave be real indigene of Lagos abi?

William Allen Vivour is an Igbo slave and that’s his great great grand father.

Ask him to repeat what he just said in the Yoruba language and he will be staring at the Ceiling

Or looking for interpreters

Hypocrisy !!
the Buba Marwa that made Lagos what it is today, can he speaks Yoruba? We are talking of who will work for lagosians while you are talking about who speaks which.
Okorocha speaks Hausa fluently but the northerners voted for Tinubu in the primary election. Are you telling us that the north should not have voted for tinubu since he cannot speak hausa?

Jade Osiberu who is the daughter of Oba Osiberu and the creator of 'Gangs of Lagos', in an interview said they met with some people in Isale-Eko and even the co-writer of the movie is a guy from Isale-Eko, they got to spend 50 days there shooting the movie.........why did the LASG and the traditional institutions there keep quie while the movie was being shot because majority of the scenes was shot outdoors and cannot claim ignorance?

I am happy that the Gangs of Lagos was produced by the daughter of an Oba and not by an Igbo person. It was her level of the knowledge of the traditional institution in Lagos State that made her produce and direct the movie in the State and some notable Yoruba actors and actresses supported her in shooting the movie. The movie reveals a lot about life in the underworld of Lagos State. When you watch that movie, your perspective about Lagos State would change automatically.

Sagamu, Ogun State.

Wow! Sagamu is the capital of Remoland.

How is she from Sagamu and still have the audacity to do something sacrilegious?

Eyo is from Iperu Remo hence the chants/incantations have Ijebu cadence. And listening to the chants/incantations - you can’t miss the ‘Osugbo’, ‘Alagemo’ and Ijebu references (I still watched a documentary on Eyo a few days ago when the controversy started). Osugbo and Alagemo are quintessentially Ijebu.

Whilst watching the Eyo documentary - the Adimu Orisha cited iconic Yorubas like Sir. Adeyemo Alakija, Kofo Abayomi, etc. as some of those who have worn the Eyo regalia. So, it shows it isn’t just some festival you can disrespect.

Sorry, but the woman needs to flogged for being stupid. There are certain things you don’t touch, no matter how idiotic your mentality is.

Like the Mayor of Newyork, and the government of the State baying against the 2002 Martin Scorsese Film, 'Gangs of Newyork'.... on account of its 'uncultured' portrayal of the Irish and the denigration of their proud heritage.

Anytime I watched the film all those years ago, long before all these events we see today I imagined Nigeria in 200 years time.
So apt today because a time will come when Lagos will become like Newyork, a truly cosmopolitan city, a real crucible of nationals of all kinds from all parts and places of differing backgrounds.

It will. It will have to. It has no alternative. Lagos will eventually leave its ethnic toga behind and become a city state indeed.

Tinubu no want any party to take over Lagos because that is where he get his daily bread.

There was no complain whatsoever about the incubent governor, even if Gbadebo had been a full fledge Yoruba, who loves Yoruba, nice and respectful man with PhD in governance and twenty years experience as a governor he wouldn't have won Snwo Olu, you don't just start repairing what is not spoilt, he would have had to wait for next four years after sanwoolu s tenure, talkless of the fact that he is rude, loud, disrespectful and mannerless, MC Oluomo had nothing to do with it.

Do you know the new meaning of indigene? FYI, being a Lagosian doesn't mean you are of Lagos origin..The whole of Lagos state is a Yoruba state....Every Yoruba family have oriki...Ask Rhode vivour family if they have oriki?
