I'm applying for PTA via the trade monitoring website and I'm getting quarterly limit exceeded. Does this have to do with the bank I'm using?

Has anyone applied for PTA recently?

Elders of Nairaland UK Branch
Long story short
Naso dem say its better to convert from tier4 to 2
We did the needful as usual via care support work and of course not free.

Started work in December, was given sponsorship in Jan after a month, applied in Feb ending and got our brp.

Brethren I discovered oga Don score goal, we didn't plan for it, from calculations na that time way it snowed heavily and and and and...

We are 5weeks preg, informed MD my fellow naija but instead got threatened that sponsorship will be withdrawn because we concealed the preg to collect COS.
We should have halt the COS processing.
Is this how it works here?

Congratulations on your pregnancy.

Do you have a written contract of employment? What is your company policy regarding notifying your employer when pregnant, maternity leave etc

As others have stated, it would be against the law to dismiss you or discriminate against you on the basis of your pregnancy. It is your human right to choose to get pregnant and to continue the pregnancy, and you do not require your employer to give his permission or blessing.

However, regarding the bolded - paying fees in direct exchange for a job is illegal. Your employer is probably confident that your options are limited as a result, and assumes that you would not be able to take any legal action against him. .

Speak to citizens advice - they should be able to give you free and confidential legal advice, but ensure you disclose the full facts.

Pregnant women are universally entitled to free NHS prescriptions and free dental care/checks during pregnancy and up to 1 yr post partum. Depending on your working history, you might also be entitled to receive statutory maternity pay or maternity allowance.
Anything else is likely means tested i.e. benefits/ public funds.

Anyone can show me the ropes in Central London?

Just arrived, I have a place to stay, just need a run up of how to go about things and get going as soon as possible..

Also meeting new people will be nice since I heard it’s quite lonely here

Every year spent on a legitimate Skilled worker (aka tier-2) visa will count towards your 5-year ILR route…. Even if you change sponsors 20, times.
Infact, if you switch to Global Talent (Sciences) visa right now, the two years already spent in care will count, and you are ready for ILR next year. (3 years pere).
Thanks for giving unambiguous answers

Good interest rates does not exist......... I still wonder how Nigerian financial institutions, offer 20%.......

If you see 3.5% (instant withdrawal) or 4.5% (long term)..... That's the best you would get ........🤣😁

If you want more, take a look at index funds, etfs or S&S (with a minimum of 5 years) or possibly more (your investment might go up or down) ......😁

Hi guys.

I am looking to make new friends (ladies or unmarried male). It’s really lonely here. I am a 27 years old lady and just need someone to talk to occasionally. If you are career-oriented, that’s a plus. Feel the same way? Please send an email.

So, I got way more messages than I bargained for. I have decided I am no longer lonely and thank you for reaching out.

Knock knock knock ........ Are you no longer lonely, because you have swiped right or you simply got overwhelmed, by fellow lonely heart's 💕........

And decided to abort mission....... You turned on the switch and just turned it off .......😂🤣

I believe Koonbey is spot on. Thanks 👍🏽
For now, just play along, move with the flow, while doing the needful: record electronically and keeping a journal record. If, careful not to say when, the time comes, you'll need the recordings and journal.
You wrote ... he said that he doesn't want to involve the home office
Make e go that route, and let's see who for score own goal.
You wrote ... He said ... That we should seat to discuss and negotiate way forward. (I don't know what he wants to propose)
Follow the conciliatory route but watch your back fully guarded even more than Eph 6 indicated. If you don't and matter gets to ACAS or employment Tribunal, you'll be portrayed as adversarial

However, with all of this, though you've got labour law back, I'll still say, now that you have YouKay experience, it's time to explore other sponsorship. Not because of your MD, but for your sanity, wellbeing, family and the baby.

koonbey:
Record your conversations with this person and keep them.
What he's doing is illegal. There's absolutely nothing for him to report you to HO about.

That being said, he has control over your shifts and could deny you shifts, which would be illegal, but difficult to prove. If I were you, I'd try the conciliatory approach just because that's always better, but keep it in your mind that you might need to explore 'legal steps', hence the recordings.
Someone has sent a link to a resource you should find useful if it comes to that.
Noworries11:

I still do not understand, I should have aborted? coz of work? Or the law restricts me from taking in. He said, he will speak to his lawyer and that he doesn't want to involve the home office (home office sabi I am married nah, dem get our data) that do we know what it means if he involves them?
That we should seat to discuss and negotiate way forward. (I don't know what he wants to propose)
... ...
[UPDATED]
Regarding recording, generally recording is not permissible, yet not totally illegal! However, in the instant where you're an affected person, not just interested person, like in this instance, you are 'entitled' for your protection. Should you share it with others, even inadvertently, outside of legal process, well, be ready for the consequences.
NB: YouKay has several (different) laws that touch on recording! Navigating them is a landmine on its own. Just move on the basis of all-parties consent when wanting to record generally. For personal safety/protection, pls do within the limitation that you have a duty of care to safeguard the recording reaching third-party (even spouse!!)
You can read a bit more online, starting with this one

Do you have US visa even if it visiting then that can be swapped for transit

If its only UK visa you have then you need transit visa

Moneybox once in a month withdrawal gives about 3.2%, the 30 days notice gives about 3.4%. There are other account types but the returns cannot be compared to the Nigerian mutual funds expected returns.

Who wud give you a house without work reference and guarantor. It’s not jus to have the money here you get a house. They have to go through your application before they decide. And with the number of pple you want pack come it wud be very difficult to get a house. Even Airbnb will be hard and expensive to get with this number.

I know several pple that came in since Feb with 2-3 kids and it took them up to 2 months to get a place after paying so much on Airbnb except the lucky ones with family members here who had to put up with them. Up till now sef some neva still get.

For your sanity better the MA come alone, settle down, look for a place before others come.

Nice. Thanks for the comment. The family don book ticket already. Na Airbnb be the best option as it is.

They might be lucky to get a LL to receive 6months upfront. Thanks for your contribution.
