Otedola sold his shares at N12 so I take it that is the true value of Tranacorp shares if not for Tony's wickedness.

That is my thought on fair price

The whole story looks one kind. Why will Tony buy off ote$ at a premium ? If true, it could mean Transcorp is much more valuable than what Mr Market is pricing it and Tony being an insider knows this and doesn't want a co driver make sand sand enter join.

Tony can afford to pay any price in order to have control of Transcorp. With control, you don't need capital appreciation of stock, you may not need dividends, control brings a lot of money.

Tony should come and clear the whole offers at 2.81 or Otedola should buy back at present offer of 2.81 since that's a huge discount to what he sold his own shares. You suppose shine eye dey follow these cowboys. It's never what it seems!

He wan do shakara Lol. The cost of the 500k is Oga Emma's dividend in UBA

I have not forgiven Tony since he decided to cut UBA dividend about 2 years ago, so I sold almost all my holdings left with just few units.

With what is happening with Transcorp, who is bankrolling it? I want to believe that the day of endless extraordinary expenses by UBA is over.

I won't be surprised if it happens again in 2023.

My opinion though

This whole story is insane, but everyone knows Transcorp is way more valuable than its current price.

At times we need a " Corporate Raider" like Otedola in order to unlock such values

So Tony has money to buy Ote$ shares at #12? Hmm, interesting.

Clearly, Ote$ doesn't know what to do with the money raised from GEREGu. Too much money cheesy

Las las na UBA shareholders go subsidize the transaction.

At that. It's still an indication of value. I guess a possibility (& risk for common shareholders) is excessive greed from Tony, that may make common shareholders not benefit on the long run. And another likelihood is Tony will manage the business well as his legacy (self actualization instincts) and benefit common shareholders on the long run.

That's an assessment of a fair price for Transcorp if Tony paid that much. That means it may not be a bad thing to hold on and not sell if one currently has the shares.

A shareholder who is in control of Transcorp buying the shares for N12, is different from you a retail investor buy the same stock for N3.

The controlling shareholder who bought at N12 can get back the fund he invested with 4 years, while the retail investor who bought at N3 is yet to recoup his investment

Tony indication of value is different from your own indication of value.

Do you have companies that get contract from Transcorp?

If he loses control of the company,he can't get such contracts and other pecks again. Most times these are more valuable than the capital appreciation or dividends

A normal man's self actualization needs on the higher level goes beyond bread and butter. Bread and butter is at the lower hierarchy. Hope Tony has outgrown that lower hierarchy. grin

Yes.
And probably United Capital and African Prudential. Don't forget they're not as regulated as UBA.

Two years ago, I was surprised to see AFRIPRUD had a N2billion deposit for shares in Heirs Insurance biz, which shares have now been issued.
