First, request for GCMS note to get a detailed reason for your refusal, then you can work on it, and reapply

The GCMS note will most likely just state thesame thing. I was refused visiting visa once because of same reason and when I requested for GCMS note. The reason didn’t change. I’m also applying for study permit in June because I want to wait till I pay my complete fees first before applying. Pls I’ll like to know how to establish ties. I’m also 41, single and have both aged parents and siblings in nigeria. What do I show to establish ties. Thank you

Hello house
After checking my application status tracker this morning, I found my application status is in progress and destination is Toronto, ON
Does that mean my application is in Toronto centre
If anyone have Toronto center email address, kindly share
My application is more than the processing time
Thanks

Good day everyone, I have a friend that got PPR on Friday but seems to have lost his biometric confirmation slip (yellow form issued by VFS) as he had it done about 3years ago with his first application that was refused. Will there be an issue if he doesn’t send the yellow form with the passport to VFS?

Thank you. Is this payment in addition to the biometric transmission fee of #9410 that is paid when passport is submitted to a different VFS office other than where biometrics was originally done?

I think it's different. When I went to submit my passport, my friend that was in same shoes with you was told to pay about 9k as he didnt come with the biometrics slip he had misplaced earlier. If you also intend to submit in their office different from where you did biometrics, that I am not sure if it will be charged separately. But am certain u pay when you don't provide the biometrics slip.

Hi guys, pls I need experts advice. Right now I'm so sad and down casted. I submitted my study permit application on March 25th 2023 and got refusal on Apr 26th 2023.
I'm 40+ old lady, single with no child. I live in Benin Rep. I'm a Nigerian and so I applied in Nig. Reason for refusal was that I don't have enough family ties to show I'll return. All my siblings are in different countries abroad even my mum recently traveled but I stated that she's in Nig. because even at the time of applying she was still here. Pls what can I do differently? I can't think straight right now. I feel so let down. I have many past refusals frm diff country embassies even though I've been to the UK before. Although I cldn't state my UK trip because it was past 10 yrs travel history required and also cos even UK kept refusing me since. But I make sure each time I come to Nig frm Benin Rep I stamp my passport and I've made numerous trips even within the last yr. So pls how else can I prove home ties asides my showing only my mum living in Nig?

Hello fam, Francisca here.
I have a question about visa application, especially for freelancers.
So, I'm a freelancer. That means I work remotely and earn in USD. I plan to self sponsor (even though I have about 1m gift from my cousin that I want to create a deed of gift for). I've been saving some money in cash over a couple of years which I plan to convert and pay in as a bulk sum into my naira account. Is it advisable to pay it in once or break it into smaller amounts? Also, do you think that I should find a way to pay tax on those monies? I've been checking online to see if freelancers should pay income tax on their earnings in Nigeria before applying for visa, and if their application can be rejected because they didn't pay tax, but I haven't seen any information on that yet.

I would really appreciate a freelancer's perspective on this. If for some reason you can't respond here, please send me an email on teacherfrancisca2021@gmail.com and I'll take it from there.

Thank you! 🥰🥰

First of all, pay which tax?

As for converting the money and paying into your account, if the money is currently in your domiciliary account, you should use that instead

Cheer up; I believe you have more home ties than you think.

You can use your job as a tie if you demonstrate the intention to return to the job. This can be effectively shown by having your employer grant you a leave of absence. Suppose you are self-employed, provide business registration documents, invoices, receipts and correspondence with suppliers and customers. In addition, discuss your plans and prospects extensively. Is your occupation in demand? How can the skillset help with your ambition in Nigeria?

Financial buoyancy is a home tie. Document your assets, if any, and prepare an excellent financial table of your assets supported by a valuation report. Better still, get a net worth report from a Chartered Accountant.

The level of your involvement in the society can be used as a tie. So, if you belong to any social or religious group, get a letter from them stating you are an active member and role.

Is your intended program related to your present occupation? If not, can you establish the program's relevance to your current and future career path? The Vo is unconvinced with your purpose of visit, so you have to show how the proposed program fits your ambition.

Vo makes decisions based on how they interpret what you present to them, so the onus is on you to write a convincing SoP. Most importantly, don’t forget to order a gcms note so that you identify and address specific concerns noted by the VO.

All the best.

For the tax- I had to ask this because I saw in a video that freelancers should provide a tax certificate or evidence of tax payment for their earnings when they are submitting their application.

**
No the money isn't in my dom account.
It's in cash. Because for the past couple of years, everytime I withdraw my earnings I always convert a little bit of what I need each time and leave the rest in cash (USD). I don't like converting everything because of fluctuating naira rates. So I plan to put everything together once, convert it and pay it as a bulk sum into my naira account. Or would it be better to pay it in parts?

NB= I'm also including my payslips and employment letters to explain where the money came from.

Good day everyone,

Please, I have been an applicant and I was denied. I want to submit another application.
I had a different surname when I did my last biometrics. How will I connect my previous biometrics to me now as I have a new surname due to marriage ?(as I heard it’s valid for 10 years and I did the biometrics last year)

Secondly I intend to apply with my baby this time around. Will I apply for biometrics and medicals for my baby as well? ( less than 6 months baby). Please what are the requirements for applying with a child?
Thank you.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by bullstriker: 5:28pm On Apr 30, 2023
Answer yes to “Have you used any other name” in the application form and provide your previous name. In addition, add an affidavit for a change of name or/and a newspaper publication. Your UCI remains the same, so IRCC will link the application to you.

Biometrics is not required if a child is less than 14 yrs, but medical is mandatory if the child intends to stay more than six months in Canada.
Apply for a visitor visa for the child. CBSA will issue a visitor record to the child if the medical is valid at the time of entry.

Doesn't matter. Most important thing is that you attested to the refusals.

Thanks for your reply, I actually consulted my concern to some immigration consultant and they said I should send a web form to that effect. So I sent this.

“Dear VO,

I will like to address my BACKGROUND INFORMATION.When I was asked if I have ever been refused a visa to any other country or territory previously. I selected the yes button for both visa refusal within canada and any other country or territory and I gave the reasons.

However I think “I was refused USA visiting visa twice but I’m sorry I can’t remember the exact year but I feel is 2016 and 2018 or 2016 and 2017. But I said I was refused USA visiting visa in 2017 in my original imm294e form.

Also I’m certain I was refused Uk visiting visa in 2017 and Canada study permit visa in 2016. I just feel it’s necessary I quickly address this information as I should have expressed my concern like this while filling the form but there was no typing space to give more information about our previous refusals and reasons. Thanks for your understanding.“

I hope there’s no problem sending this information via the webform?.

Thanks bro, really appreciate. It’s well, God over everything, God will perfect everything that concern us ooo.

Pls house I Want to ask. I already have a UCI from my visit visa application.

For my study permit application, where I am asked for UCI, am I to leave it blank or input same UCI from my visit visa application??
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by bullstriker: 6:29pm On Apr 30, 2023
You can input the same or leave it blank. UCI remains the same regardless of application type

Yes I believe so.

If you are still having problems, I can help fill and sign digitally if you are comfortable with that.

GloriaBekee:

Or can the form be printed out, scan and upload again
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by deejay102: 7:06pm On Apr 30, 2023
They will ask and you will upload it.

If you must submit, go ahead and raise a webform later. It will be applied to your account.

No problems

I am yet to receive my passport back from vfs after submission and I want to submit my study permit application today. How do I upload the visa? I thought they would just ask a question and that's all
