1. Chose Barclays as you are bound to get more experience mingling with in house staff and also opportunities available but not advertised especially as you intend to move away from CS job. 2. Not sure Revolut reports to credit score companies though but again it depends on what bill type you are paying for some might not be worth reporting if not in the list of those captured in the credit reports. 3. If you both have a joint account and paying from there may be or you both split the payment equally - you pay through yours and she does same too. Then you report through Credit ladder (use my referral link to register but do your due diligence oo). Cheers harddrive2012: |

justwise:There is nothing selfish about not sharing information a person is not comfortable with sharing. It doesn’t change the fact that it’s still his prerogative. He even said it, that he should allow him resume first. No be do or die affair. 7 Likes |

kwakudtraveller: The way some people talk is very funny. He should share the name of his Employer so people start writing mails to them saying "A Nigerian you just recruited informed me there are openings" or such stuff. Let the guy even start first na. He's answering all other questions but you're calling him out because he's refusing to share personal details of his Employer to complete strangers on a public online forum! There's nothing selfish about it. The entitlement on this platform is getting a bit much. No one owes you such private information, people share what they're comfortable with and it's very wrong to call them selfish for doing so 20 Likes 1 Share |

hustla: Have to disagree bro. Apart from the other things that have been cited, the fellow might just prefer to keep his identity truly anonymous here. We don't know the size of the company and how unique his Nigerian identity is, such that his activity here will be traceable. It might even be possible to find out his full identity via LinkedIn et al if one knows where he works. Not holding brief for the person but there are many reasons why people might not want their NL profiles to be traceable to their IRL identities. The conclusion that he is hoarding the info is not fair. 4 Likes |

kwakudtraveller: People have being sharing links and company's name here for ages, that is exactly one of the reasons thread like this exist, He got the job already so sharing the link will not cost him the job, the company will not recruit more than they needed just because he shared their names here. If it was referral link he will be spamming this thread begging people to use it. 7 Likes |

Solumtoya: Lets assume for the sake of argument that someone actually contacted the company saying...Nigerian they recruited gave out their company's name, what is wrong with that? The job was advertised in indeed which is a public job site. I can understand if the job was through connection and was not advertised in public at all. |
Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by Solumtoya: 10:25pm On May 03, 2023 |
justwise: Sure, for the sake of argument, here we go: The guys also stated that he works at a care home and he's not sure whether to quit for this particular job. Someone may write to the Company saying "The Nigerian you recruited on a 3-month contract works in a care home like me too, so give me a job". Meanwhile, he may not want his Employer to know that detail. I really don't want to stretch how far people can go My point is: This is an anonymous public forum, people should respect the limit to which people feel comfortable sharing personal data. And no one should be called selfish or talked down on for exercising his right. 7 Likes |

justwise:What is the name of the company you currently work with? If you don't mind, please list the other companies you have worked with in UK in reverse chronological order. One more favour, please list the names of the companies you worked with in Nigeria. Let's not be selfish. Thanks. 17 Likes |

justwise: Exactly, only the guy knows best why he doesn't want to share and he's well within his right. It's not negative but cautious thinking. With the "bloody" company name, anyone could search the full name and address. Still for the sake of argument o... We don't have to go so far, see how "positive" the guy who is asking for the Company name is, saying "minimum wage, survival jobs that a lot of British citizens don't even want to do, what will you do if it's a £100K/year job?"... And you are asking why we think so negative. We think so negative because people are mean and, according to Albert Einstein, infinitely stupid 10 Likes |

Why do we actually need the name of the company? To do what? Is that the only company recruiting on indeed? Go on indeed and look for jobs simple. I know how funny my fellow Nigerians can be lol. I gave someone info on sponsorship job and this person did something that made me look stupid. Next time I go shut my mouth. 10 Likes |

justwise: I just tire for Nigerians, negativity full people body You will enter Tesco and see all Indians working there, they obviously all shared info with each other and carry each other along. Na only Nigerians go different, hoarding everything smh Anywhereworks, EE, Crossover and some others people have dropped in the past all offer remote jobs. Some of them even ship equipment to you before you start to work with them I wonder what they're trying to code for as if people who want to apply there won't still be scrutinized or dropped if they don't meet certain criteria To each his own Sha, I'll not speak further 4 Likes |

So worrisome but same behaviour from back home now creeping in here. Another thing that hurts are those ones charging people for information. You come on NL to learn for free, get what you want and next thing you see them advertising one-on-one to 'advise you' eeeeeiiii Imagine oga Lexus and Justwise monetizing their experience on here ....but meh we all go alright las las. To think the person even came here to solicit advise but didn't see it fit to share speaks volume......whoever you are chop your employer oooo! hustla: |

Those looking for the name of that particular company, please don't take it too personal. Just go to indeed, filter by remote jobs and location, you will be alright. The continued persistence for the name of that particular company is becoming a course for concern. 5 Likes |
