If he/ or you didn't need to explain your life to anyone, why did you get married in the first place? This kid (11 years) happened in their marriage of 13 years not in His past life and you expect her to just accept him cos what? He is a man and she's a woman/ wife? He kept it from her for 11 years for Heaven sakes. Can he accept that child if the tables were turned? He wasn't even sounding remorseful sef.

He should not have brought that child there when breaking the news. She has every right to decide if the boy will live with them or not because she does not know that boy and how he was brought up. I don’t blame her, if a step child’s mother is alive, take that child to the mother or mothers female relative while you take care of the child from there.
Don’t burden your wife with such responsibility except it was agreed before marriage. Many stories of these older step kids abusing the ones in the house too.
