A win is a win. I don't care. cheesy grin. They lost even with AD dropping 40.

That is the thing though. AD 40 points. Lebron about 30 points. That is 70 from your 2 best players

Nikola Jokic really went 41st overall during the nba draft

It was the final years of under estimating guys from Europe. Those days are gone now, there is no way something like that will happen again

Most great players got overlooked in the draft. I watched Giannis get drafted and watched his first season too, he was basic. He just went to sleep one day and came out a different player

Hahaha I was only motivating him. He's the one that chose to spend his basketball prime under Daddy Lebron making sure he would never get his due credit when he wins but get all the blame when they lose. We literally had Bronsexuals on Twitter asking AD to get traded that he was wasting Bron's final years

And I always ask them.. since Ajala arrive LA, what has he ever achieved without AD. Tonight, monkey dey work baboon dey spoil work..

Should the Lakers win this series people will say Lebron defeated the Nuggets forgetting all the work AD did.
That is the deal and price you pay when you sign up to play with Lebron. With shills on media like Perk, Cowherd, Draymond, Tristan, Shannon, Nick Wright and JJ Redick. Your legacy is permanently tied to someone he helped win a ring. Doesn't matter what you did on the way.

Dwyane Wade is lucky he was a FMVP before he teamed up. He would probably not even be in the top 5 SG conversation

A little too late here. Costly turnover just a moment ago. And if that 3 from Bron had gone in angry Onto game 2. We better not start that atrociously in game 2. I don't know whether we should bring Rui into the starting 5. He's done a good job on Joker in the 4th.

Just looked at the boxscore and Rui was a +10 and the bench unit altogether was a +18 while the Nuggets bench unit was a –31. Darvin Ham should be doing a lot with that information if he's going to have a shot in this series.

You forgot Brian Windhorst the chief Lebronologist.

Lebron lived up to the hype but I cannot understand the over d-riding that comes with him. They literally ignored that AD needed to have big games for all their wins against the Warriors. Bronny just had that stand out game 6 and the lemmings rushed to give him all the praise. So irksome. Ewww.

When AD goes 11 and 7, no one would say LeBron's impact was needed. Or when LeBron goes for 30/9/9 in a closeout game, we won't say his impact was huge. They'll wait for the time AD scores 40 before they come out with their di*ks dangling. Una go dey alright. I hope you people find peace of mind in your lives. LeBron won't be the end of you grin

It's always someone else's fault. And the thing is Lebron has mastered the art of putting up gaudy stats that you couldn't possibly blame him when they lose. Even me wey be Jordan guy I have to watch in awe sometimes.

Cos someone pulls up the boxscore and sees it 10 years later and will say well he's blameless in the loss grin

Not that he overall played badly but even in his younger years there's many games that if you didn't watch you would say he gets unfairly criticized
Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 4:37am On May 17, 2023
If you are the Lakers, despite the loss, you should be happy with how the game ended. They have absolutely no answer for AD, not many teams in the league do anyways!

You also have to take into context how long those guys have been playing basketball, Giannis had just been playing for like 5 years before he got drafted and even then he was playing against low level competition. Jokic started earlier, but a combination of playing low level competition, lack of elite athleticism, his incredible love of soda, and not knowing if he was willing to fix his workout habit caused him to drop that low.
Nowadays, his elite playmaking and size even though he is from Europe will make him a lottery pick.

PS: If he was athletic, he would have been a lottery pick even with all the negatives, because if you have watched Finding Giannis, the GMs who wanted him, justified spending the 1st round pick because of his athleticism, saying if he never takes the MVP level step he would have at worst been an incredible rim runner.

Common. You may never be able to capture all of them. 70/80% is good enough. Some of those slipping through the crack should be normal.

Lool. He's not as vocal and annoying as these ones I listed

The issue for me sef is always how they rubbish these players even when they do well compared to how they down them when they struggle.

They will tell you Lebron makes everyone better yet they will still blame the players he supposedly makes better when they're not you know, Better grin

One was here earlier downplaying Kyrie. And that's how they do it. Once they win it doesn't matter how much the other guys contribute all glory goes to him.

You had m0rons like Nick Wright giving him credit for ending Warriors dynasty pre and post KD. Meanwhile AD was on the team averaging 21 and 15. Kyrie in that Final averaged 27 points to Lebron's 29. Can you think of any other duo where two players contribute at such high clip and one player gets all the credit

Naah he's a professional, he sophisticated with it. In the early days of this thread we used to call him LeStats for a reason.

That series I saw somewhere he scored 60% of his points in that series with the Heat down 15pts or more grin

Baba, I they here o. Honestly, I think denver comes up with the W. But like you said, That means they can handle adversity. Also, Mike malone made adjustments in the last 3 minutes with the lakers pick and roll that i believe he will make use of in game 2.

By the way, the difference between this team and the warriors is night and day. Even with being down, they werent shooting threes like idiots.
We're not in disagreement. That's why I said if they can win both games in Denver then I like their chances because this Nuggets team I don't trust them with adversity. The Lakers keep fighting and don't know when to quit so I don't factor just physical. These Lakers are filled with dogs. They will simply not quit till the game is over

From a physical skillset standpoint the Nuggets have enough to win even with the Lakers being favorites

Why I felt confident if the Nuggets can win both games at home they win the series is because I knew the Lakers would give them hell, neither win was going to come easy. So passing that test would tell me about their mentals and put pressure back on Lakers. Nuggets will play loose with nothing to lose and this is where they thrive, when they have nothing to lose

And you're right they will not just keep spamming 3s and hope for the best. I think this helps and gives them more ways to win

Nuggets defense is papier mache. The Lakers and AD will feast. Key is Jokic and how much foul trouble can he avoid moving forward. Jokic likely neutralizes AD's production but he can't do it from the bench. So any game he gets into foul trouble the Nuggets will be in deep kak.

AD has to keep being super aggressive and draw fouls this series cause if Jokic plays his regular minutes he just does too much else that he doesn't even need to score big to kill you, he can simply decide he wants to go for 15 and dish 20 assists. AD will be unable to match that

Excellent pickup. Was wondering why they moved Monte Morris for him cos with the Lakers he was hit and miss but now with Murray back at 100% Morris became expendable.

They will need big contributions from him because I don't expect nothing from Jeff Green old ass and that Braun guy? I mean isn't he a rookie. Can't expect much from him either. Unlike the Lakers who have a proper bench

Anyone following Bones Ngannou beef? Bones doesnt realize it, but he is playing the role of house negro right about now. But his ego is so large, he cant see it.
What's funny is a lot of these fighters and fans talk about fighter pay, improved fighter conditions they all do the talk but when it's time to walk the walk they always fold. Dana will always thrive on divide and conquer. Same Jones that cried about being underpaid as well

The same Jones that Dana trolled for being scared of Ngannou oh now instead of introspection and seeing that he's been where Ngannou was he's also letting his ego and self win when he knows deep down Ngannou is not scared of him at all

Certain guys have conviction and see the big picture. Jones might be the UFC GOAT but outside the cage what happens? Ngannou's insistence on freedom by sticking to his guns at all costs should be admired especially by fans and lessons can be learned by the fighters as well.

But come to think of it, it was silly for Darvin Ham to start a 3 guard lineup against Denver. How do you carry over a tactic from the previous series into a new series? You need size against Denver, even a rookie should know this. That's the major reason we were thoroughly out-rebounded in the game. 47-30 rebounds is unacceptable. 15-5 offensive rebounds is even more unacceptable. See how solid we were when we had AD, Bron and Rui in the game. Rui was tasked with guarding Jokic higher up, which allowed AD to be the help defender that could either block/interrupt shots form Jokic or be the first to grab the rebound. Jokic made zero FGs in the 4th and had zero offensive boards.

I totally agree with the last part, i think loosing this game was not probably that bad, we now know the match up and most of their tactics, after trailing over 20 points we only lost by 6, i am sure if we had a good start(starting rui) we would have won.
We winning the next 3 games!

And AD scoring 40 seems so easy, nuggets paint is easy and no one can guard him, he can keep dropping that everynight.
