These village people are everywhere even in Hausa.
With cash like that, the bank will never turn it down but in his own case, his village people were fully awake

Who carries $11 million (#8.5 billion) around?

We need a comprehensive report on this matter so we can either sympathise with the victim or prosecute him. We need the following answers:

1. What was the source of the fund?

2. Someone in possession of such amount knows how the bank system work. He should have a contact of his account officer who will reachout to any branch for assistant.

3. No bank in Nigeria that will reject US$ deposit due to the scarcity of the dollar.

4. Was the cash a parting gift for politician.

We need to know if na thief theif thief.

He wanted to disguise, yet he fell victim of an unusual individual epic robbery of 2023..

I'm sure his household (someone close), sold him out. because there's no way the robbers could have known, despite him disguising as a low profiler..

This is one of the reasons I hate the NPF.

You are correct, the whoe economy of Abeokuta can not generate $11m talkless of being in the hands of one mallam. To raise $2m dollars in Ibadan a bigger economy was a herculean task at a period when a client needed it talkless of Abeokuta. Well exaggerated, I am sure the money is around a million dollars.

Definitely na those aboki wey Dey Change dollars, nah inside job. However, the figure is exaggerated, $11m not #11m, I don't believe it. E no fit pass $1m, if me too no dey exaggerate.

Gees! Seems like an inside job to me.

First, why did the transaction fail at the bank? Hmmm

The guy is complicit, this is a cheap attempt to hoodwink and corner that cash from the owners, perhaps stolen money belonging to a politician or politicians....... he must be a dollar merchant and most of the dollars these guys flaunt doesn't belong to them but top politicians and government officials, they are conduits for money laundering and illicit funds........fake a robbery and corner the cash......he knows no one will come out to ask for the money

Do you know that a lot of guys hanging around the banking Hall and premises as if they are waiting for someone are actually on surveillance mission.
It almost happened to me, I went into a bank to withdraw about 1m but I made the mistake of not carrying my bag into the bank. I carried the money in a black nylon bag used by the tellers in packing the money. I was followed immediately I left the bank but thanks to God and my Mitsubishi Lancer that was still tokunbo then. I put it in sport mode and was driving like a mad man and fortunately the road was free. It happened at GTBank Branch at car wash bus stop. I first thought of running into the Area M Police Station but na another wahala that one go be. I just managed to escape.
So it is very possible. On getting home, I called my account officer there Mr. TJ to inform him of the incident and he immediately alerted their security guys there. I hope it won't happen to other people like it happened here to this man and to me but I was just lucky.

Believe me, someone from the bank is aware of this robbery. If the informant is from his household or someone close to him, he would have been robbed on his way to the bank coz they wouldn't want the money to get to the bank. Na bank staff run am street joor

It's either the robbers were armed, kitted and ready waiting for the opportunity or .....

The owner of the venza is the robber. You took such huge amounts of money to the bank not minding their closing time. You did not request for police escort. From no where, robbers came fully masked and went straight to your boot. They even knew the exact route you followed as you left the bank. They even knew your vehicle right away. Haba! Too many coincidences here. The person who went to Lodge that money in the bank is the one that arranged with the robbers. No Nigerian bank turns down such huge volume of money. Highest, they'll pay their staff overtime.

Another thing, the dollar is not a legal tender in Nigeria. So how does an aboki come about 11 million dollars? There is no way that money was legitimately earned. The police need to dig deeper. Starting with Mr Venza. He knows who and where the robbers are. He planned the operation.

@ the bolded. No bank would allow you leave their premises with such huge cash in USD oh.. not naira. Network or no network. Forex wey bank dey find.

That money must be Government stolen money en route to laundering. Which Genuine businessman moves up and down the street in a simple car with 8 billion naira even Dangote can't do that.

When I see some comments on this page I wonder some people far away from school. That huge amount brought to the bank by that time can be box and key given to the customer while he comes back tomorrow to complete the transaction. That is the standard insofar he enter the banking hall
