It's okay if you don't want to get married and have children. But if your reason for such decision is because you hate men generally you need to see a psychiatrist asap. You need healing.

So, I told my parents I don't want to get married. I do not recommend telling your Nigerian parents you don't want to get married😹

My mom put her hand on her head and looked at me with pity lol. She said I don't have a goal in life, she said I'm empty.

My father was even more dramatic. He started praying o. He told me to kneel down and starting casting and binding all the evil spirits and his village people.

Ngl, it was hilarious. It's not like I don't want to get married though, I just wanted to see their reactions.

But why can't parents accept that not everyone wants to follow the way they did things? That I don't want a husband doesn't mean something is wrong with me and I won't be lonely because I plan on having 29 cats, a dozen goats and scores of chickens.

Oya meet me for a special deliverance grin

Nice fantasy.

In real life anyone who holds two diametrically opposite mindsets about life and consistently displays them at different times is a schizophrenic.

She is a man hater.

99% chance a lover dealt with her and 1% chance her father is a terrible husband.

That is where she is coming from.

The Bible clearly states that out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.

You cannot speak Darkness every Day if your Heart is full of Light

I just imagine something.

Imagine after you recently married your wife and both of you were just chilling in the bed when you accidentally glanced through her phone on her hand while she was surfing Nairaland and you saw Soifra as the username at the top of the webpage.

As much as she's notoriously hated here as a feminist and a man hater, what would you do..

I think people like her are a completely different representation of something or someone different in real life than they are on social media..

She might be the coolest chick any guy would want to end up with in real life

being useless to your parents due to decision not to marry, dont mean you are useless. Marriage means nothing, sometimes it's a burden we chose and bring upon us

A lot of you here at supporters of obi,a lot of you her claim to be supporters of democracy yet you are against someone's choice of not wanting to get married.
Democracy comes with freedom, y'all arent ready for that.
I have relatives whose husband ran and left them to fend for the kids when small hardship comes, i know a lot of nigerians back home and here who are unhappy but are married cos tradition and family pressure.
We need to learn to respect peoples choices.
The reason nigerians prosper abroad (which you all latch on and claim they are your people) its because of freedom.
Marriage isnt for everybody you can check your bible marriage isnt compulsory it even have good points to not to.......go check am or google it.

Since you think it's strange for them to express their feelings towards your choice, you shouldn't have bothered telling them. You should have just kept the thought to yourself na

Siofra you are blessed with exotic beauty and any red-blooded man would love to date or marry you. That said marriage as an institution is grossly overrated. In Nigeria, ALL men ffuck numerous other younger women on the side while using their wives for reproductive purposes and for domestic chores in exchange for household upkeep money, while in the USA, a full 50% of all marriages collapse into acrimonious divorces after a few short years.

Now, it is true that all human beings long to pass on their genes in the form of offspring, but that objective can be met outside the rigid confines of marriage, either by artificial insemination or by pregnancy that is contractually purchased. If you are a highly paid professional woman who wishes to retain her independence and does NOT relish the idea of playing the role of a subordinate housewife to any man, your surest path to long-term fulfillment is to make money and make lots of it.

As a woman of independent wealth, you can visit any sperm bank in the USA or EU, and pay for your own insemination with the sperm of healthy young highly educated good looking men of ANY racial demographic that your heart desires, so as to produce any number of offspring tailor-made to your specific preference. Furthermore, as a woman of independent means, you will NEVER be lonely in your old age because you will be in a position to HIRE the services of well-hung and handsome male escorts that will generously fulfill all your sexual requirements and fantasies whenever the mood takes you, with no strings attached.
