Good day I got married to my wife after she got the Uk study visa last year August 2022 for her masters degree in the uk. She got her visa last year August 2022 and traveled on that same month, last year. We got married April this year 2023 and I am planning to go join her. Please what are my chances? I need advice She didn’t fill any information at the dependent option when she was applying for her study visa last year 2022. Please what are my chances and what documents do I need to get to support my applications. Thank you |

Please I need help. My son is going to school to the UK in September. I and my family want to go with him, settle him and return. Just 2 weeks visit. My husband has 10years visa. I want to apply for me and my other 2 kids. Please do I mention we are going for vacation or be honest and say we want to take him to school? Secondly, my husband is the one sponsoring the trip, do I still have to add my own account statement. I have a home based biz though not registered. Please kindly help me with a suggestion. Thank you |

mobxlaji: You might encounter problems with the ECO 1) Cos you intend to stay 20 days on electives with just £1000(source of which is unfounded because you are merely a student and not employed) and you intend to go with sponsor whose financial standings are yet to be disclosed. 2) Cos you are still a student and it is unclear how applying for observership/clinical attachment/electives will help you at this stage of medical training as a student. If you were a doctor already waiting to do internship or with GMC registration under your belt then that will be a whole different ball game. 3) Cos you are using a sponsor however your own personal circumstance will be reverted to when considering the success of your application. 4) Cos majority of ppl that apply for clinical observership as 6month visa are ppl with GMC registration waiting to sharpely do that and get job in the UK. |

Osoderi: Is it not small? By all means I do Infact think it is small. How many days do you want to stay there? And how much do you want to spend on the trip, and most importantly what's your monthly disposable income after expenses have been removed from your salary. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Cashmadam: 10:29am On Jun 05, 2023 |
Amychike: Just be honest. You can include that you will also seize the opportunity to rest. You will need to add your statement of account. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Thegamingorca(m): 10:29am On Jun 05, 2023 |
Osoderi: Oh okay I see. Has she submitted the application already? Did you ask her how and why she wants to spend only 6days? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Osoderi(m): 12:01pm On Jun 05, 2023 |
Thegamingorca: she has not submitted. I am trying to avoid letter of invitation, I just want to invite her since she say she wants to stay for 7days in my house. pls kindly advice us the best way to go. Thanks |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Osoderi(m): 12:06pm On Jun 05, 2023 |
Thegamingorca: to me seven days is small.her total from all source is 460k and her expenses every month is 130k. her hubby provide most thing in the family. pls kindly advice if I should just tell her to stay in my place to cut cost, but I am not a citizen yet, just still under dependant visa. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Thegamingorca(m): 1:43pm On Jun 05, 2023 |
Osoderi: Tell her to ensure everything in her bank statement is well explained in a cover letter including dates of transactions and transaction amounts explaining the source. Tell her if the bank statement has any other lodgement snuck in like some random casual transfer she should just forget about it. Tell her everything with regards payment of salaries from the two jobs as is on the bank statement she plans on tendering must be uniform, indicating occupation it came from clearly written in the account name and salary for the month paid for in the transaction details. Also tell her the monies from the two jobs must be arriving in a timely manner on the same day for consecutive months. If she can do this, the 330k disposable income is more than enough to cover her travel expenses. If she indicates that she is staying with you, she will more than likely be refused. Let me categorically tell you now that if she says she will stay anything beyond 7 days she will most definitely be refused. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Thegamingorca(m): 1:46pm On Jun 05, 2023 |
Osoderi: Tell her to book 7days hotel free booking on booking dot cum for that time period. If she gets the visa she can cancel the booking and live with you for as long as she wants. Apart from visit what is she coming to UK to do? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Thegamingorca(m): 1:50pm On Jun 05, 2023 |
Osoderi: To you, why do you think 7 days is too small? |

Fredayo:you need to prove your marriage is genuine and subsisting. Chats, emails, vacations together, picture’s during courtship, wedding pictures, marriage certificate, joint account or investment certificates of joints etc basically prove it’s not a sham marriage Then tb, proof of funds etc check page 1 of the uk student visa thread |

Amychike:what’s your travel history? The siblings that are going wont they be attending school at that time? Why will they leave their studies to do this? You as the mom can also use these other 2 kids as ties that you will come back to Nigeria as they don’t have to go with the student in my opinion. Both parents can accompany. Add your bank statement as in some refusals they mention this as reason for denial. |

I have been to the U.S once in 2018 and severally to the UAE. What if we move it to August? Will our chances increase? Or I should totally leave them out? I really want us to go as family. Thank you so much. Looking forward to your response. {quote author=giselle237 post=123592254] what’s your travel history? The siblings that are going wont they be attending school at that time?
