I don't want to respond to you claims because I know you're a boss here.

But, always resist the urge to go overboard.
These are what discourage people from contributing here.

I'd like you to unquote me.
Thanks.

Promxy94:

Nigerians aren't the only ones registering domain names. Neither are they the only ones that can spot rare gems.

Also the act of contacting an enduser for a domain that is not in your portfolio is fraudulent.

At some time, we may be tempted to outsmart the system, but we shouldn't do that.

Contacting endusers before buying a name is fraudulent just like he wrote.

What is it about the name? I believe the "s" at the end is a turnoff

I don't believe so, it's just not of best practise, because what is even worse than that, 'domain tasting' is not considered fraudulent but a bad practise.

Can you justify that domain tasting is fraudulent?
If No, then contacting an end user before regging a name is just playing safe and a bad practise.

Domain tasting is the practice of temporarily registering a domain under the five-day Add Grace Period at the beginning of the registration of an ICANN-regulated second-level domain. During this period, a registration must be fully refunded by the domain name registry if cancelled. Wikipedia

Bad practise is a mild term. An euphemism we use not to make the culprit feel too bad. Trying to sell a name you don't own is fraud.

I'm still not comfortable with this line.

You reach out to a potential end user and make them aware that there's a name out there that'll be very good for their business should they'll like to have it.
If interested, you go on, if not, you back out.
And If it's a wise end user, he reg it and you lose...and if a crazy end user, he still congratulate you for letting him know grin

I agree it's a very bad practise for a domainer, but calling it fraudulent, I'm very uncomfortable with that.

I think it's just trying to play safe.

And when you say 'Selling a domain you don't own is fraudulent ' I totally agree with that, but that's not the case here.

Because, you later own the name by registering it before you sell it.
You've only created a veil by letting the end user think you already own the name prior to contacting them.

It's a gamble.

Thanks.

Can you justify this writeup?

Did he register the domain? Then why claiming what he did to be domain tasting.

Now that he doesn't own the name nko? Someone has made an offer of 5k like he claimed, and domain has been registered by someone else, what does that portray?

Before he can sell the name, he will have to register it (which makes it his own) then sell.

I never claim what he did to be domain tasting (obviously that isn't domain tasting), I've only compared it to domain tasting, when someone pointed out that his practice is fraudulent.

Which I beleive domain tasting is even more grevious that his action.

Promxy94:

Did he register the domain? Then why claiming what he did to be domain testing.

Then, that means he loses £5k from his bad practice.
And not from his fraudulent practice.

Go back to my explanation up there.

What you put up here is fraudulent.

It gives a bad name to the domaining business. Why don't you put up a thread on namepros and see what others will say? I used namepros cos it contains many nationalities

As at the time the name was pitched to the end user, was it stated that the name was available for hand reg ?

The common assumption will be that the sender of the mail is either the owner of the domain or a broker acting on behalf of the owner.

You clearly stated that a wise end user will register it, that is only possible if the name is available for registration

So the question is: why outbound for a name you don't own ? It's fraudulent and gives a bad namento the business in general

What you put up here is fraudulent.
If you think so, but I've explained why it's not.

It gives a bad name to the domaining business.
How? You're not forcing end user to buy. If interested, you go on, if not, you back out.
Just for names you own.

Why don't you put up a thread on namepros and see what others will say? I used namepros cos it contains many nationalities
You can do that, and you'll see people that own different opinions as we have here.
I also use Namepros.

As at the time the name was pitched to the end user, was it stated that the name was available for hand reg ?
The intention for reaching out to end user is to make a sale for an agreed amount, you don't tell them a name is available for them to reg but to buy if interested.

The common assumption will be that the sender of the mail is either the owner of the domain or a broker acting on behalf of the owner.
Yes, and that's why I concluded that its a gamble, but not fraudulent.
For a wise end user, they outsmart you and you lose.
Thanks.

It's a gamble.
Gambling this way is not sustainable and should never be encouraged! This is why it's essential to first learn how to reg names; otherwise, you end up frittering away valuable funds.

Have anyone here tried using Grey to receive payment (GBP) from squadhelp and if yes did you select Wise and then fill in the details from Grey?

Thank you in advance.

SH is in partnership with Wise. Meaning SH pays via wire transfer using Wise company, the same way DAN pays out in crypto using BitPay. You can receive your SH payout with your Wise account, or with your 'non-Wise' bank account, e.g Grey GBP bank account.

Navigate to TransferWise (Wise) option on SH, select UK as bank account country, and link Grey GBP bank account. Your sales in USD would be paid out in GBP.
