We won, you lost.

I'm sure you're pained now that the strike has been suspended. Obi must reclaim his mandate. No strike engineered by the Tinubu camp will stop him.

Given time, transport cost and related prices would normalise and reduce from the initial high levels because there would be adjustments and cost saving measures employed by people, forcing transporters to reduce their prices because of reduced patronage.
For eg,many people that work far from their residence would start squatting with friends or find temporary accommodation near their places of work,so if they go Monday they only return weekends.
It doesn't work like that. Painful as it is, the citizens will have to pay for it. Prices of everything will increase.

What happens to the money that will be gotten from removal of subsidy? Tinubu government will have enough to loot, they will steal the money and no one dares say anything
NOC1:
I know they will suspend it, majority of the masses are not on their side, people like Maupe of Channels who do criticize Tinubu came out openly to support the removal of Subsidy, even Charlyboy.

Every enlightened Nigeria will support the end to the useless subsidy.

Majority of Those who claim not to support the subsidy removal are hypocrites their mind is saying another thing and there mouth is saying another.

I knew that the strike will not really hold though I don't believe that they were bribed.

Tinubu is a kind of someone who doesn't make noise but knows how to influence. The FG's negotiation team wasn't bad too.
I agree with you, one of the key strength of Tinubu is that he knows how to bring people to see his point of view while appreciating the other person's view as well.

I knew it was initial gra-gra from NLC. I wonder how our IPOB brothers will react to this news now. Will they cancel and insult the NLC president for canceling the strike?

We will not and never return fuel subsidy. We will not borrow money to subsidize fuel for marketers, just for them to smuggle it into benin, ghana and other countries. While we Nigerians bear the brunt. We suffered scarcity, unavailability, still suffered high cost. Nah, Enough is Enough. We will rather channel the money into infrastructure, health and food production.

Who are "you guys"?
Labour strike in Nigeria over petrol price increase has been a scam and f oolishness combined.
Fuel price is increased, prices of transportation goods and services increase, labour goes on strike.Goverment reduces the price to some degree, but the transportation and items that increased in price, never come down. The cycle continues.Has labour ever told or forced transporters and merchants to revert to old prices?
Why has labour not protested the more than 300% increase in gas prices.
Electricity,an item used by ALL households in Nigeria, bills have been regularly increased, but labour has not even issued a protest letter, talkless of strike!Ditto, kerosene. So why should fuel increase be any different.
Yes,the pain will be great and yes the announcement was hasty and rash, but the subsidy scam has only made some people billionaires while the illusion of it serving the populace is kept up.

You, kids, will never learn.
Buhari was worshiped and praised as Mr. Integrity and Action Man. After 8 years even his family members have disowned him.
Today some Yoruba Muslim kids are hailing Bola as an Action man who has just under 3 weeks in government, most of Bola's supporters are jobless youths who can not afford to buy fuel at #400

It was an unpopular strike that was doomed to fail. Suspending the proposed strike at this point is simply to save face.

Should they have gone ahead with it, they would have been disgraced.

It is easy to identify people like you who obviously are still collecting money for food from parents. How do you expect minimum wage earners to survive with the resulting price increase in other items.

You and your analysis are so crude and quacky!
So your brain refuse to tell you that aside tfares, cost of living generally will spike. Besides, there is no PMSmarket forces available to create fair competition that will slip the PMS price in the future. Is your subsidy in safe hands when you're still running a corrupt system?
Shame on your porous ass grin
