Lol... N200/kwhr rate loading. By the time they do those their wuruwuru PPP and inflate cost, Lagosians will be lucky to get N200/unit.

That is not a problem as long as we can get the power. It can never ever be as expensive as buying fuel to power your Generation.

People will gladly pay for what we use. Can you calculate how much you spend on calls and data in a month?

Give us power and we shall pay as everything will fall in place. Not that your telling us to pay for Darkness when we don't have light

Guy,
When I lived in Ghana, I was spending the equivalent of 50,000 a month on ECG units. But the power was regular. So regular, that my chicken suppliers have this huge log of wood they have to hit on the cutlass to cut up my chicken.

In Barbados, it is on another level.

Our people want to enjoy life, but they do not want to pay for it.

A welcome development. If we are serious to develop as a nation, it starts with the political willpower.

Awon pessimists tun ti de. Una must sha find a reason to lament and complain, even before the initiative kicks off. Guy, you'll always have alternatives; you can simply fuel your gen and use that instead if you feel the cost of steady electricity is too much for you or better still remain in darkness while those that value the development pay for it in peace, I'm sure nobody will beat you.

If Una go Ghana Una go say they better pass Nigeria because of their (very expensive) relatively stable electricity. Nigeria is gradually moving in the direction of providing stable electricity but the perpetual pessimists and wailers would have none of that. They must always find cause to wail.

The major reason why electricity is failing in Nigeria is that people want it, but they cannot afford to pay super high rates and you can't blame them that much. Nigerian workers don't earn much to be able to afford N200/KWh electricity. If they could, many people would be able to run petrol generators 24/7 without much conplain when the price was about N250. Don't say it's pessimism. It's just one of the uncomfortable realities plaging Nigeria.

Imagine paying 50,000 a month on a salary of 30,000 a month or let me say 10,000 a month

Doesn’t work that way. The standard of living should reflect

Electricity will surely be available on the lines soon, but will it be available for everyone? Certainly no.

Just like sim cards, it's even free now but I know people that only recharge #100 once in 6months just to keep the line.

I know for a fact that electricity is not cheap anywhere, but if everyone is properly metered, everyone will manage consumptions based on his needs.

Once again Lagos is having a dream to have at least 20hrs of power per day. One day when they achieve it now some folks will start shouting why always Lagos rather than find a way to hold their own state governors to task on why they are sleeping on their job.

Then next election they will start plotting how to remove the government of Lagos that works to replace it with untested parties that have failed in other states

Perhaps, but one should cut ones cloth to size. Use what you can afford, it's not by force to use light 24/7 if you can't afford it.

You are full of negativity and hatred for anything that is good. Just because it is not coming or going to happen in the enclave you came from. The statement emanating from Lagos state government will come to pass in your eyes but you will not benefit from it as you will be tied down in your enclave sulking as usual

The government need to cut the cloth to size. Let the poor breathe. Increase minimum wage. Uk increase last year, did this year, in midst of inflation and all, just to improve life a bit.

You can’t do all these and pay 30k for minimum wage. Make them sleep for gutter?

The problem is proper measurements.
Because they can't provide measuring meters to individuals, especially lowest income earners who seems to pay more than those who consume more energy.

Same here. Bought the battery pack a week to inauguration cos I already figured it out that subsidy will be removed. Now there is constant power supply. Thank God I didn't waste money in buying the solar panel. I charged the battery with NEPA light.

That is why we are where we are today. Investor are ready to put their money but if policy is not on ground, nobody will invest. There are thousands of country in the world where you can put your money and make profit. Investors can invest in solar generation, they can invest in wind generation and before you see, Osogbo steal rolling company will come back to life. Enugu, imo, Anambra has gas. They will use gas turbines and sell the excess to grid. Their are hundreds of potential in power generation that can be tapped in the north. Bauchi has large quantity of Uranium chai !! Nigeria is blessed.

Let just keep praying for our leaders expecially tinubu. All we need is good life and it is achievable by good leadership.
