Hi, Good evening.

Please someone should help.

I initiated a sell order via Chapel hill denham last week Monday, 5th June for my MTN shares. But up to now it's still in executing stage.

They say it's T+3, now T+5 no feedback

Thank you

What l can deduce from this is that the sell order has not been executed maybe no buyer to pick the stock at your sell price yet or system challenge.Do them a mail with execution order to sell your quantity at your specific price with follow up (Just a suggestion though correct me if l am wrong).

Doesn't their system allow a sale by yourself as in morgan capital for easy monitoring

You can execute a sell order but if no buyer is willing to put a bid to match your offer it will continue to be in executing mode for the duration (a day,7 days 14 days) you put the sale order till it expires. Except if they are having system challenge and are quiet about it.

Should I hold?
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Frangel: 9:25pm On Jun 13, 2023
T+3 relates to when your executed trade settles and you get paid.

If you specified a price limit, maybe it has not been attained. If no price limit and you inputted your trade on their portal, it has not reached the NGX, maybe due to an unresolved technical glitch. If you gave them the mandate to execute for you, then it's a result of their inefficiency.

MTN is a liquid stock that can be sold anyday as long as there is no price limit. Contact them tomorrow to deal. If sold tomorrow, your pay is due on 17th June (T+3days).

Very soon, UBA will surely rise, Remember the stock market routinely follow the common saying "If the preferable is not available, then the available becomes the preferable "
This characteristic play a role in the Ascension of FBNH Access, ETI, and of recent Sterling Bank, Etena, and others.
same characteristic will play out on UBA. A better time to increase holding.
Nothing is wrong with UBA in both Technical and Fundamental aspects.
It is imminent, UBA will rise.

Even with todays closing price of N 10.9 , UBA has the lowest PE of 2.3 Lower than those of tier 2 banks. Which is an anomaly. The bears still have a strong hold on UBA to lule. UBA needs to cultivate market trust for the bulls to shrug off the bears. A steadily growing Q2 above Q1 and better interim and final dividend rewards is needed to engender market trust. Without it market will discount its financial statements.

You do not need to be an Oracle before you expect a volatility.
Volatility is an essential organ of the market.
Cash at hand is meant for neutralizing the effects of volatility.
Do not run away when there is blood on no 2 to 4 customs Street Lagos, even, if the blood is yours.
It is extremely difficult to time the market and predict accurately when the next blood is going to flow at Customs Street Lagos.
The market is independent of the economy of Nigeria. During the moderate oil boom (2017 to 2018) it didn't impact the market much.
Despite the pandemic of 2020 to 2022, the market did not shed much blood.
Let us look at the last blood in Guiness(2020 -2021), it took less than 12 months to recover from the low of N13 to band N17. It started insidiously, then recovered gradually. This is the kind of isolated blood people should look out for and punch at any time "t"
Use your cash to buy the blood, even if the blood is your.
The expectation that the Naira will recover from the sledge hammer of the US$ is a wishful thinking. Be it global market crash or oil boom. Nigeria government do not manufacture dollar, the US treasury keeps increasing the interest rate/s in order to tackle inflation in the US, each time the interest rate increase/s, the CBN and other Reserved Banks pay more money to access the dollar. Nigeria is not the only country that faces this dilemma.
On this, saving moderate cash in forex is not a Bad idea.
A careful study of Central Bank activities show the (band) target exchange rate is heading towards N700 - N1000 /$.
This has nothing to do with Dangote Refinery or imminent deregulation of the down stream sector.
One may need to ignore the economy and focus on individual companies fundamental to become a value investor.
The market will always recover faster than we anticipate regardless of global economy and financial crisis.
At the last statistics, 60% of trading on Nigeria exchange in the last 6 months was done by local investors.
With the popularity which the Nigeria exchange is currently enjoying, we might see 70% trading by local investors in the foreseeable future.
The take home point is Buy or at least Hold when there is blood on No 2 to 4 Customs Street, Lagos.
Never run away from the market. Time is the best friend of Mr Market.

@ Streetinvestor2, this doesn't look like the writings of someone who started investing in the stock market less than 15 years ago.

But actually Total is cheap at N300. It has an outstanding shares of 340 million.

At N300 it will have a market capitalization about N102 billion.

Total Energy had Earnings Before Interest Taxes, Amortization and Depreciation of N37 billion in 2022.

The EBITDA/Market capitalization yield is about 36%.

EBIT/ Enterprise value yield of over 70%.

NB, these are all based on 2022 results ooo and using N300 as the market price.

I have sent a mail to the management to do a stock split of 2 for 1, so that that the outstanding shares will increase from 340 million to about 1 billion, so as to enhance liquidity and availability of the stock on the floor of the exchange
