Still conflicted about Oparanozie. We are largely basing out judgement on her on past showings without getting a chance to see how she fits into the system now. Unfortunately the NFF didn't make provisions for friendlies for that.

She has an average of 5 goals per season the last 6 years. I won't bank my offence on her sincerely. Ify same thing.
.....I get you, however, how would you set your front 3 up? Atleast one of them will play, for Desire imo she can still take free kicks and hold up the ball well till the Calvary arrives, a little bully ball here and there. So what front 3 will you propose?

It ultimately depends on what Randy's strategy is given the squad we have.

If we are going to be doing a lot of wing plays, and the wingers have instructions to put the ball in the box (also hoping they can do this to precision) I'll play Asisat or Ify up front. Esther on the right with Michelle supporting and maybe Kanu on the left with Alani supporting.

If we're going to play through the middle though, I'll start Monday Gift and Asisat on the side. In every supposition sha, Desire comes from the bench for me. Again, I'm basing this on available information. If we had a series of friendlies to have a closer look, maybe my position will be different.

Provided Desire starts, we have no issues. They aren't that lethal defenders.
Wanted to say the same thing. Desire, our Lukaku grin grin

That Babe that follow flamingoes didn't kick one ball throughout the tournament. No news or hopes that she'll transition either. Shey na this ones go kon get hope?
Alimat Atta.. something.

She is a central defender. A good club will increase her chance.

TBH, I don't think Esther has done much to be a starter. I'll play Gift or Kanu ahead of her.

But then, I don't want to conclude yet based on her last two matches for us.

......Well Desire starts ahead of Ify for me...she might not score, but know that she will cause enough free kick opportunities due to her hold up play, i still have my reservation about playing Oshoala as a 9, let her come from the flank.....

...Esther it is for me....I do not know if she is at her best yet though, i like Kanu coming off the bench, she should come and terrorize the opponent with her speed.

I agree, she was not at her best the last 2 games. Speed that could have been an advantage was surprisingly absent too. But again, wish we had more games to access.

Desire Oparanozie looks certain to be a Back Up in the no.9 position… Maybe when one of the forwards from the flank goes off or Oshoala come off or move to the Flank then Oparanozie can come in..

Again Randy Waldrum will likely field Iffy maybe from the Bench..
Those two red cards will mean He can't really use his intended preferred XI.

Personnel dey ground. Na coach choices dey fear me pass for this WWC. Especially as that Mama no go follow am this time. Onyi would be a great sub imo. But Desire must start.

That loss/absence of tempo around final third, she's the perfect solution to it. Any coach that can't see that na fufu.

Gamero is a damn good player. Will be a good get, but doubt the US will ever let her slip.
The one wey get for ground no even sure yet -Alima. Kon be like na gamble these guys dey use gamble. I'm set to see that this administration won't have pull and power like Pinnicks to hint FBs.

On Alima, the u20 coach is largely responsible. He didn't even dim fit to play her for a few minutes even when we had convincing wins.

On Gamero and others like her, the lack of structure and systems is responsible for them not even considering us. Funny thing is it's way easier to get female football players to switch then guys cause of the large supply of players and limited demand of spots, but when you don't have you acts together how do you want to convince them to be a part of a dysfunctional system?

Esther has better technique both of them in ball control and accuracy.

Tempo and Desire in the same sentence is an oxymoron sha. Desire has a lot of qualities but speed isn't one of them. She if course can hold up play and maybe score goals, but if we are playing high press, fast tempo games she's sure not the one to consider.

Again, I'll take Desire of yesteryears but from the stats available (averaging 5 goals for a whole season the last 6 years), it isn't out if place to play her from the bench. My opinion is open to change if my some miracle we get some test games before the competition and she dassels us.

Those are minor qualities as far as forwards are concerned.

I think he is referring to final third possession. Desire get more involved at the final third than any of our striker currently. In simple term, she is more active at the final third.

Nigeria. We'll major on the minor and minor on the major. They were cash strapped to host the camp earlier, but they have enough to host a dinner big enough for the First Lady to attend, all for political reasons.

Randy Waldrum's explosive interview on the Super Falcons. He held nothing back.

He basically lets the world know the Falcons aren't prepared for the world cup

He went deep into the challenges the team has faced mostly due to the incompetence of the NFF

How Tochukwu Oluehi was suspended

How camp was cancelled and many more

Head Coach, Randy Waldrum explains how the NFF is actively making things difficult for the Super Falcons ahead of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

What do you think of our chances heading into the tournament ? 🤔 🦅🇳🇬

.....It is very sad.....i am disappointed, although i am not surprised at the actions of NFF. At this stage i do not expect much....Let the girls go there and try if they can make things happen, if not, we know who is at fault.

We are our own worst enemies!
This is not only sabotage, but is also gross incompetence on the part of the NFF and they are clearly setting our girls up for failure.

Pinnick looks like a saint compared to this inept Gusau!

NFF fires back at Waldrum..

Its almost certain that Waldrum won't be in charge after the world cup....

And then, our Olympics qualification could be in jeopardy..

I'm no Waldrum fan, but knowing the NFF, they might just appoint another already known local coach to lead the team for the Olympics qualifier..Chris Danjuma or Godwin Okon..

Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by naptu2:
So they are trying to say that Florence Omagbemi was the problem, Thomas Dennerby was the problem and Randy Waldrum is the problem?

They are trying to say that Rita Chikwelu, Desire Oparanozie and Tochukwu Oluehi are the problems?

When will they look at themselves and realise that they are the problem??

Shameless people. The season ended in May and even if they gave the girls 3 weeks of rest, camp could still have opened 15th of June. But of course refuse to take responsibility but rather deflect. Let's even agree that Randy "stupidly" chose the Nigerian camp to exclude the foreign based players, can't you as an association with vision correct that and call him to order?

Demehin and Imuran play professionally in France for God's sake and even Abiodun has participated in 2 camps and played for the team too. How would someone with any sense use that in his rebuttal? Notice they stylishly ignored the Oluehi issue.

Again, Shameless people.
