Please, some bought GTB during the PO and has since lost the Certificate. How can the person get all dividends paid previously and probably monitor the shares henceforth.
Thank you in advance!

Whatever (reasonable) Investing strategy you follow, can and will deliver good results. Each (reasonable) strategy has periods where it outperforms or underperforms others, but at the end of the day, no (reasonable) strategy is objectively better than the other.

It is not so much about the strategy, it is more about the investor applying the strategy.

Ability to choose a strategy that fits one's personality and skills. Ability to keep emotions in check. Ability not to be lured into changing your well oiled strategy to embrace a new flashier one that for a period seems to deliver superior results. Ability to keep calm in the midst of the storm and understand the whys of your strategy, these play a much bigger role in our final performance than the strategy per se (provided that strategy is reasonable in the first place).

Generational low may happen in future but looks unlikely this year going by the trend of things so far.

Even the screenshoted post didn't happen the year he predicted it

Please what is the TA saying about Fidson? Hold or Exit?

I know you were not referring to me, but I am a busybody nah. Full disclosure, I captured 46% of the 55% move from this year's low already.

Based on my valuation of the company's 2022 financials, I believe the fair value of the stock is 18, so hopefully there is still 30% of upside potential.

Technically, the OBV indicator is looking up, price broke the 10 support/resistance line, and it made a new high. The monthly bars are increasing with corresponding volume. I believe the stock is not doing badly and there is no reason to sell it. However, I would like to see how it reacts to the dividend mark down coming on Friday. Overall, I would still hold the stock, but if you are inclined to sell, watch for it to close below a negative 6%, that should be some kind of warning. cheesy

@Emmasoft,
Please, some bought GTB during the PO and has since lost the Certificate. How can the person get all dividends paid previously and probably monitor the shares henceforth.
Thank you in advance!

Here is what to do to achieve the two things you asked for.

1. Claiming outstanding dividend
Visit Datamax registrars with an acceptable means of identification which can be any of these: NIN slip, Drivers license, Voters card, In'l passport, and one passport photograph.

At the registrar's office after complaining that you don't have the certificate from the public offer and have not collected dividends,
they will give you an e-dividend mandate form to fill out, complete and give back to them.
Within 10 - 15 working days they will credit your mandated bank account with all the outstanding dividends that are not older than 12 years as of the payment date.

2. Monitoring your shares
Following the two complaints as stated above, the registrars will also give you a demat form which you will bring to Investment One stockbrokers office for processing of the shares into your cscs account, this will enable you to monitor, buy more, or sell your shares any time and anywhere you are in the world.

To achieve this second part, you will need to first open a stock/cscs account with investment one stockbrokers.

An aggregate picture of global markets I saw from Afrinvest.
USA NASDAQ has the greatest over priced assets. This is where the bubble may burst first.
Which stocks are pushing the Nigeria "All Share index" P/B to 2 and PE to 11?. Must be the likes of DANGCEM ...Surely not the ones that rallied the most in the last two months?.

I appreciate your comment.

On Fidson, H1/Q2 2023 closed with strong bulls, new high. It has 50/50 chance of going up! Bullish sentiments may continue until bears later find their feat.

As someone earlier said, are you tired of making more money? wink

Price Book ratio is determined by the Return On Equity, and you can use the Price Book ratio to calculate a justified Price Earning ratio for the stock

At a return on equity of 12%, price book ratio should be 1.4 and justified PE ratio of 11.66

It's earnings growth projections that create bloated prices that cause the high P/B and PE's delivered by Market bulls. And if that growth falters, the bears come in.

Price Book ratio multiplied by 100 divided by the ROE.

Multiply Price Book ratio by the reciprocal of the ROE.

That is what will give you PE

Read Benjamin Graham's works on how he got price book ratio based on the return on equity.

You can also goggle materials on how to get justified Price Book ratio for a security

...you've done well in your analysis my brother.
One reason I love FA guys for is their ability to compute intrinsic value of a stock based on past financial records. Equivalent of this in TA is Fibonacci Retracement. This support your valuation of the stock value at 18, equivalent to projected Fib 61.8%.
But personally, I rely more on price actions. For now, Fidson, is very bullish

The ongoing bull is sustainable(ASI 61948.99)investors should not rush out yet, exiting a moving train can place you at a disadvantage, you would have to onboard at a higher price.
From contrarian and sentimental view, the bull is being dictated by:
1.Global inflationary trend
2.Exit of funds from Bitcoin and Cryptos (People should remember that, at the peak of cryptomania, many global indexes were suppressed, NGX inclusive. Now, many Cryptocentric investors are back to equity investments.
No wonder Apple market capitalisation is over $3T.
The predicted bubble is a wishful thinking, it could happen in other indexes but not NGX for now.
NGX has been suppressed for years, now the renewed hope 🙏 will project the economy of Nigeria as investment destination.
Come to think about, the 2nd quarter participation is still local investors at >60% of all trading, We are still waiting for the Foreign Portfolio to take over.
There is massive sell-off in Johannesburg Xchange, many of the funds there would find their way to NGX due to interest of white South African investors in NGX. The bait is the xchange rate unification and the Promise by BAT, that Nigeria capital market would be reformed.

https://guardian.ng/news/tinubu-re-assures-investors-of-policy-consistency-nigerias-readiness-for-business/

The Rand is receiving a double blow from the West and Russia.
Putin recently sound a warning that South Africa should take a position.
3. It would take time before Crypto can regain the trend of 2020/2021.
4.By the time the next Big news hit the market, PBAT would have triumph at the Tribunal, this will add at least 2.5% to 3% to the ASI in the first 3 weeks of his victory at the Tribunal.
From a strong sentimental view, NGX ASI, is likely to reach 70,000 +/- 5% volatility.
You are a good investors and a winner if 6/10 or 60% of your portfolio is consistent, and delivering, Rebalance when the ASI reaches 65000, possibly by October 2023.
Happy investing, Time in the market is the true 👍 winner.

It's always good to book some profit. My average entry price is 9, so its only fair to book some profit and allow 70 percent to run. If it reverses tomorrow or in few days, I'll reenter again at lower prices.
