Within a space of 5weeks?.. like if you are in his shoes you can haul the whole system that's been imbibed with corruption from time in memorial with that short space of time?!... let's be realistic, it takes a step to make a thousand miles
Angelfrost:

NOPE... You are wrong!

What toes would an Angel step on??! Be honest!

What real toes has Tinubu stepped on??!

Any vision of growth that solely involves making already suffering masses suffer the more while the corrupt wealthy and elite thrive will never go well!

...And as long as CORRUPTION remains in every sector, Tinubu is merely pissing Air! He ain't doing jack... Same as Buhari did for 8 years!

if you can't plug all wastages especially Budgetary allowances to elected and appointed government officials, and governance costs, then you are merely indulging in oppression of the electorate!

That's what no one is willing to admit!

CORRUPTION won't permit any grand idea or plan work! Nigerian leaders starting from the Presidency are fantastically corrupt... Too corrupt to permit the growth of the nation!

They came on board via a highly corrupt and compromised system, and will maintain the same status quo!

Only a leader who gets in there solely and strictly on the back of a corrupt-free system will effect change by taking very bold steps!

pls feel free.

why do you think that you are an oppressor?

If you can change my quote and put your own words, doesn't that reveal that everything you have been saying about fuel Subsidy is equally fabricated in order to deceive people?

According to you "Your problem is, you think I am defending Tinubu and Buhari. And you want me to look like an oppressor" at the same time you Tinubu is my pal. How is that possible?

If you say "As for your own quesiton, I have answered it", what other answer are you telling me to expect from you when you said "Answer my quesiton, or you will get no answer from me"?

Can you show me the discussion we had about my thinking about you supporting Tinubu and buhari?

What has the questions which I have asked you over time which u have never been able to answer got to do with whether you support Tinubu or buhari?

How has fuel Subsidy "wrecked" the nigerian economy?

If I were in his shoes, the very first steps I will take would be as follows:

1. Declare all assets, and insist that all appointees and heads of parastatals do the same or resign!

2. Declare the assets and audit the entire federation publicly so that every citizen sees and clearly understands the state of the economy! This will remove any doubts about what really needs to be done to move the nation forward!

3. Set up a sterling and incorruptible Executive Council! This is not rocket science sir!

4. Declare a state of emergency on Insecurity across the nation within the first day in office! There can be no pretense or protocol about this!

5. Immediately set EFCC to work! There should be arrests and detentions within one week! The fear of God must be set in that sector instantly!

6. Cancel all foreign trip funds! Any trip undertaken will be out of our personal pockets.

Now, these would make even the biggest doubters know that true change has come! This is simpler than you think... It begins with morality and love for the people!

I decline to answer the questions for privacy.

But at the end, taxes have to be the way forward. Oil money can't sustain all of us.

Nice talking with you.

I'm very saddened when I see young people reason the way you're doing right now.

I'm not about to use your shallow understanding of this subject matter to form a perception about your person, but please, do your best to desist from promulgating theories on issues you very well know you're not vested in.

The Nigerian masses do not need to be pilfered of anymore taxes for the time being please. There are a dozen and one other measures that can be taken to shore up our revenue generation and improve our standard of living, and increased taxes isn't one of them. Certainly not now.

For your own good, please don't make the mistake of putting out this kind of opinion if you're ever in a gathering of young men struggling to make ends meet. They can angrily beat you for it, because right now, people are suffering and are very unhappy.

I don't actually know where this administration quick measures are going to. What is obvious is that there is hunger in the street. People are slumping and dying on the streets as a result of hardship. Since the president is putting up this quick suppose measures of revitalizing the economy, he should also quickly put up measures that will alleviate the poverty in the land. Anyone on Nairaland with good info on how to benefit from the schemes should share with us. Kindly send me link or a mail I will greatly appreciate. Urgent intervention needed.

Ah, you see why I don't discuss politics outside.

The harsh truth is, I know Nigerians are poor, and I know that they would suffer under a harsh tax regimen

But I also know, and it pains me a lot, that we use oil money for far too many things in this country, that oil money is not enough, that the looting makes things worse, and that at the end of the day, if we bring back subsides, and refuse to find ways to improve our tax to gdp ratio...we would eventually be in so much debt that we would suffer. And we would run out of money , and then things would get worse.

Production when power companies are charging cheap tarrifs.?

But my opinion does not matter. I am not in government, I am not even part of the leadership, and it does not matter anyway. We are poor.

Anyway, that's life.

I'm even upset that I have to pay more for fuel. It is sad. But at the end, the alternative is a nightmare I don't want you, or anyone else on this site to experience.

Good evening. I'm an oppressor after all. I am evil. Thanks. I get it.

I believe that even the lame man knows clearly that you and I are the government... humans especially in country like Nigeria with various ethnicities is a major problem to deal with.. one needs to trade with caution and be Even to deal discreetly as a leader of this entity. In our various clan/families we know that politics exists not to talk of

I respectfully disagree

The problem is, Nigeria does not have enough money. And oil is no longer producing enough cash to sustain us, and hasn't for decades. Our population is large, and our tax to gdp ratio is low.

And our productive capacity is hindered by bad power, which is hindered by discos and gencos not being able to raise enough cash to fix power.

You are always on the wrong side of every argument. In economics, there are two branches: microeconomics which deals with individual wealth (market women issues) and macroeconomics, which deals with national wealth and collective growth (government issues).
Like most people, you are an expert in microeconomics but lack an understanding of macroeconomics.

The government needs to tax imported goods are housing and not traders and businesses. Tinubu is leading Nigeria to a very BIG RECESSION.
