Thank you my brother
Dividend are usually from the reserves
I attached this document to buttress my point
Have a nice day

Both of you are correct depending on the question in particular being answered.

Dividends can be paid from current earnings and/or revenue reserves (carried forward from previous periods).

Another name for Retained Earnings is Revenue Reserves, distributable as dividends. Na turenchi.

Companies with good current financial performance will pay dividends from their current earnings.

I am sure you will love to invest in a company with a growing retained earning.

About 3 years ago in order to maintain the dividend paid the previous year, Nestle paid dividends from the retained earnings. The dividend declared was higher than the earnings for the year

Not possible to build long term wealth from a company that consistently paid dividends from its retained earnings. At the end of the day the retained earnings will be depleted.

This revenue reserve is cumulative, built over the years.

Investors will love to see growth of the retained earnings.

If dividend paid is higher than current earnings, there should be a cause for alarm if it becomes a regular occurrence

- Download the Form, just a page or two.
- Fill it
- Then scan it in JPEG form (not pdf) and send back to Morgan via email...
- ..and attach the required documents.

* Scanning into JPEG will make the job easier and quicker for them to process within few days.
Sorry for disturbing you ma

Please is there any I can use to edit the PDF and add the passport image. I am really finding it difficult to edit the PDF

Thanks for always answering and assisting

I've seen quite some posts from you on First Bank.
They've mentioned averaging down to you, if you're bouyant, you could have buy more to average down your cost price so you can enjoy the price rally.

Think this would help you much more, and seems like the best bet.......because if you sell now, you'll still sell at loss considering your purchase price, which was N30.....

As you can see, FBNH is moving up against all obstacles. It was discussed extensively here sometimes ago.
You've kept it for so long, the best thing is to just leave it, concentrate on other ones and average down if it's in your power to do so.
My humble opinion.

I missed out "print it" in my response to you... smiley

- Download the Form, print it out, fill the printed copy with pen and scan it back in JPEG.
- When you want to scan, place your passport in the passport column, it would be scanned together with the form.
- After scanning, name the file and upload (attach it) in your email reply to Morgan, attach other required docs as well, then
- Send.

Thanks for following me in this FBNH matter.
I intend to sell after all these years to be honest but all I'm trying to do is to keep a tab on the situation of the market so I know when it is safe to sell.
The last thing I want is for the bloody stock to start going backwards again if you know what I mean.
I do appreciate your advice and thanks to you all.

Urgent advice needed on FIDSON
Sell off now before QD or Hold for the dividend.
Will I get trapped in it?
These our ogas will not respond to this type of question o.
If you buy below 10, you can collect your dividend and sell thereafter.
Though I'm not following FIDSON and don't know the sentiment driving the share price up.....it's just an opinion.

If you're not in urgent need of the money, then you can just leave it.....and buy more to average down the cost price should it pullback again.

- First Bank was coming from N3 and as at today, it's trading above N18!
- Meaning something positive must have been happening there and the stock is on right path.
- Dividend is increasing gradually after coming out of the wood, revenue is increasing, billionaires interests are on the increase. More good things seems to be happening there.

My area of concern is mostly in you not selling it at loss, then regret the action......if you MUST sell however, make sure you're channelling the fund to the area where you can get maximum value for your money.
My humble opinion.
