Soraco57:Certainly that your closing balance doesn't cover the 4 years. But I don't know how they did the sop to assure you are capable to continue to fund the rest of the program. Can I see the sop. Also will need to see how the sop linked her business with the business administration. |

doublestar21:I am certain that you would need the 2 years proof of funds initially it wasn’t so.. Also, I am very sure you’d get post study work permit of 3 years (if not more, depending on some factors. Can’t explain much here as the news came out recently and I’m yet to digest it now. ) |

canadamustgo24:17m should be enough for your POF. You may not even need a co sponsor anymore. Please send a message to me let me calculate for you. (Dont worry it is free lol) |

Julietogelekac:What is your yardstick for comparison? Academically, MSc is higher and better than PGCert. When it comes to post graduate study within a short period of time, some PGCerts take a shorter time to complete and can quickly launch you into labour force. Check your POF against the duration of each program. Also, compare the cost. You will be able to choose between the two. |

Lamzee:Yes you can go ahead. The screenshot of the payment should suffice. I wish you good luck Pass the medicals, na congratulations remain. |

SandyDandy:Calculate your tuition and multiply it by the duration Calculate your living expenses and do likewise. Subtract Your tuition deposit Add an extra 5000 CAD for cost of transportation (flight) and miscellaneous There, you have your POF |

CanJ:Not to scare you but If you don’t answer them within that period, it may lead to a VISA ban. Now I Dont know the background of the story but explain how it happened to them in plain English. I wish you good luck. |

Nice job Zubizareta, you have been helpful to people on this platform and I pray that God almighty will be your helper too. Please I have some questions to ask for a friend of mine. She gotten her visitor visa last month and before her visa came out she has applied for study permit, the problem now is that she as gotten a medical request and she’s in the middle of backoff from study permit due to financial reason. She as paid tuition deposit to conestoga $1500, how can she retrieve the funds ? She was suggesting that maybe she should denied the medical so the VO can refuse her and use the refusal letter for refund? What if she did the medical and IRCC request for her passport for visa stamp, and she gotten the study permit can she use her visitor visa to travel later while she was having study permit on the same int passport? I noticed you gotten your visitor visa and study permit? Have you travel for your study? If Yes does your visitor visa was canceled ? Or the two visa i.e (Visitor and study permit) can be used in the same int passport or the boarder officer will cancel one? Thanks zubizareta: |

AskGod07:Whatever you do, ensure you do not get a Visa refusal, it could hurt later |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Bobomaigida: 11:50pm On Jul 13, 2023 |
Soraco57:Sorry for the refusal, why not request for the GCMS notes to know exactly what caused the refusal? Any response to your request now will be like trying to read tea leaves. Once you have your GCMS notes you can come back and share for the house to advise you. |

AskGod07:What possibly will she be using the N877,000 she wants to get back from the college for? She almost at the verge of success and she wants to withdraw? Let her get her SP and look for loan to help her through school if she is facing financial difficulties. She is presently more disposed to the VV, but what can she do with it, except she wants to go and start cheating the system over there. |

Soraco57:My opinion 1. I think you didn't establish the relationship accordingly since she is married (different surnames), this led to the insufficient funds. Address this issue by setting out a different account in your name and do a court affidavit as the sponsor, don't forget to add her birth certificate as proof of relationship. note, don't withdraw from the account, and ensure it can pay at least 80% of her tuition for the duration. 2. I think the sop didn't do justice to the study gap since 2017 followed by different discipline. Address this by clear presentation in your sop 3. family ties issue. let her sop be more explicit why she needs to return to Nigeria after her program. Good luck |

Hummmmm nice talking that’s what I will employ her to do get her SP and then look for loan. Please how can she defer or ask for extension deadline for first semester tuition fees? Is it defer or extension better? Please when can she initiate that is it when she first gotten her study permit ? Please guide how can she defer or ask for extension which one is better? For a third class graduate student, what school will you recommend he or she chooses for his/her pgd course(computer science) and can he switch to another course? I only have an idea for uk(BSC. business mgt)but couldn’t go through because of the floating naira issue. Thanks as you all help out |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by zubizareta(m): 12:23am On Jul 14, 2023 |
AskGod07:They can't cancel one because the visas are independent. Mind you, for the study visa, you told them you plan to leave immediately after your study so why would they cancel your multiple entry visit visa. I haven't traveled yet but I think you might have issue at POE if you want to enter with a visit visa when your school has resumed and in session. Your motive will be questioned. When does your friend resume? Let's say she is due to resume January 2024, and she decides to enter anytime this year with her visit visa then it's logical and she shouldn't have issue at POE as long as she answers all questions pertaining to her purpose of visit. My own logical reasoning |

Please can you explain how she can defer or ask for extension for her first semester tuition fees? Her intake is still 2024, but her deadline to pay first semester tuition fees is Oct 10. Please guide us best way to handle deferred or ask for extension from the school? Thank you God bless you all zubizareta: |

| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Bobomaigida: 12:39am On Jul 14, 2023 |
AskGod07:She can defer now to get a new LOA and send to IRCC, however, most schools do not defer if you have not paid first semester fees, so let her find out what the deferral policy of the school is. |

Please has anyone apply for study visa without paying school deposit because I heard some school doesn't not accept deposit until your visa is approved thanks |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by kc6964(m): 6:43am On Jul 14, 2023 |
Slimbae2:Yes, as long the school issue you acceptance letter , you are good to apply for your visa |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by zubizareta(m): 6:48am On Jul 14, 2023 |
Slimbae2:Depends on what you are referring to school deposit. Once offered admission, any school will require you deposit an initial amount to show commitment that you have accepted the admission and secured your seat for that program. Atleast as little as 500cad. However, some school end there and will not require for any other deposit till your visa is approved, while some will set a further deadline to make further deposit that could be as high as a semester tuition regardless of your visa been approved or not |

Please any Conestoga Brantford campus or Conestoga groups please signify ? Please add me on your group biko gotten my medical request yesterday!!!! |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by macdeeza: 7:19am On Jul 14, 2023 |
I will advice you make a very detailed letter of explanation. include the initial application you submitted for the admission including the receipt for the application fee you paid. include relevant correspondence you had with the school. Attaching prior post secondary education credential you have wont hurt as well. NB: dont assume they will simply call the school to reverify. you have to give them enough reason to even want to go the extra step to verify your renewed LOA CanJ: |

kind of hard to agree with what you have put down here. For a masters program, you will need a 4 year degree cert. Nigerian HND is a two year program. so where will you get the remaining credit to make it a 4 year program. For a Masters program in Canada, HND is assessed independent of OND, not with OND. For each school, go to the country specific requirements and no where is HND listed as a qualifying cert. for applicants from Nigeria Dont confuse Nigeria's HND with those from other countries. In the eyes of Oyibo, Nigerian HND is treated as a two year post sec. certificate. ShowYoung: |
