you might unfortunately be right. there is more to the nba than just skillset. If its just skills, Nowitzki would have been superstar year 1. There is a speed and strength component to the NBA game that is not present in any other league. When lebron came into the league, the hype was too much, that I was sure he would fail. But physically he was a beast, so you couldnt bully him, just play on his inexperience.

Wemby appears to have the same type of hype, without the requisite physicality to back it up. For that reason, its feeling more like a yao ming trajectory like you said. Which is great in of itself if the kid can do it. Kid looks like a class act, and I hope Spurs can figure things out for him

Physicality is one of the reasons. Just imagine LeBron, with his limitations in skill, was as skinny as KD. Do you think he'll be what he is today?

And yes, KD puts the ball in the hole better than Bron but he doesn't put the ball in the hole more frequently than Bron. There's a difference. KD has many ways to put it and Bron has essentially only one way, but you can't stop it.

Naaah. It's more of mentality than environment. Not getting to a conference Finals with that support cast is insanity.

Saw somewhere that he's shot 40% or lower in a 3rd of his playoff games. For a big man that's disgraceful. Woe betide the next pundit that mentions him and Hakeem in the same breath because he has passable footwork

I went to look at KD's numbers in that Warriors series. Games 6 and 7 and gah leee!!

How do you shoot 10/31 with a shot to close out a series in your building then follow it up with 12/31.

When Durant was at OKC, there was a series against memphis where he stank up the joint. I can’t remember that series but reggie jackson and russell westbrook came through

I didn't bring this up because I wanted the conversation to keep going. If I had a gun to my head and they asked me who has more skill between LeBron and KD, I'd be willing to risk it.
