Niger does not have what it takes to stand ECOWAS.
Also I don't want this war on Niger, they are trying to find a govt that will suit them, but I seriously don't want them to think a military dictator is better than a democratic govt.

I think they have to look for a voice in Democracy than settling for military rule

Na my problem with una be this. Why not allow the citizens of the country decide their fate? Una house dey on fire but na outside own una wan help put out... No be craze be that?

Elder Bode George has spoken well. However the military never gives power back without a tussle. The French assimilation policy is really faulty. We both had different deals from the colonialist. We could have been in their shoes, then we would understand the need for their coup. President Tinubu should just maintain the territorial intergriy of Nigeria alongst the border line and focus on delivery his renewed hope to Nigerians. We don't know we other African nations are leaning. You could draw first blood and see that the floors have shifted underneath your feet. Russia, China France and USA only care about themselves.

You're too ignorant. When a war starts, that's when you know who you're fighting.

Isn't it better we let the people of Niger taste the military rule and they decide which they prefer between democracy and military regime? Nigeria is not the police or keeper of democracy in Africa. We can play like the west do by simply waiting and watching until the military rulers start making mistakes against its citizens then we go in. Sanction them, turn their people against them through sanctions and see if the people themselves won't stand up to the dictators now or later. We don't need gra gra to show we are powerful.
lolz, this is what we don't understand.
In military rule, there is no election, so the people of Niger can't decide if they need to taste military rule to know which one they want.
In a military rule, there is no fundamental human right anymore, also if you meet a wicked dictator, you can't unseat him and all you could pray for is another coup which the citizens can never be part of, if the military are reluctant to wage a coup, then everyone will endure the dictator until he dies.

But here in democracy, you have the right to unseat a president if he goes too extreme.

I really do not have a problem if Niger is ruled by military or Democratic govt, but I don't want Nigeria to feel there is a chance in military rule.

War general tenkiu. We know you're an antiTinubu from day one your pseudo love for him over night to dish advise is still partisan. Nobody wants war. But as chairman of the regional block, the President needs every available means to pursue democratic rule in the region. Whatever the President does to you will be wrong, if he had chosen to fold his arms, you will be the first to call him weak. Now he's going hard, na bad thing to you again. Ride on Presido. No be today we start to suffer in Nigeria. Bode's angels ruled but there was no difference.

Take a stance and stop jumping on all sides. Anyway, I am not sure you understand what war is. Small Boko Haram in your backyard has not gone away, you want to draw blood else where. The kind of embarrassment that will befall Nigerian government if it embarked on this thoughtless muscle exhibition will be televised globally. I laugh. grin

One synonymous characteristics of all Nigerians is hypocrisy! its just too pathetically obvious.....just like corruption...a lot of them buy their way through to civil service and obtain their employments through crocked means but will continue to criticize as if they are not partakers of the rot!... a lot of them have numerous birth certificates but will be here criticizing Tinubu....SMH..

To the subject matter.....

One of the benefit of democracy is the ability to change government..... Though Buhari was a pathetic leader, at least we knew that at the end of 8 years maximum, another person will come in!... that is the beauty!.... Now imagine a military rule of Buhari!....

The truth is Nigeria is a giant in west Africa and we need to keep things in check in this region if you dont want wahala....the Bokoharam issue is a case study... just imagine that Chad and Niger are sympathetic to the cause of these terrorists, Nigeria will be over ran by now! same with Cameroon!...

These people are our neighbors and enemies of Nigeria must not be in power particularly not a domineering military Junta!

I don't know how they will do it...I also don't want war coz war is expensive and costs human lives but power needs to return to the people!

Go and join a party and solicit for change if you are so desperate for change!
what a brainless bozo...for ur mind now u don write.....u people should learn to read wide and think before airing opiniom...

If Tinubu is wise, he'd heed to this free advice. But the Tinubu I know isn't wise.
He talks before thinking.

You want to fight Another country when you lack support from Nigerians or does he think Oluomo and Asari can last in Niger for 2days?

Tinubu should understand Nigerians didn't send him to defend them. If he feels slighted, he should carry Seyi Tinubu and his family to go and defend Bazoum

So Nigerian soldiers will automatically start fighting Nigeria?

You think the military plays emotions?
Military follows command and not emotions

Not when your president and army Chief is arna wawa kawai
The army is dominated by Arewa musulumi and we'll never hurt our brothers to satisfy the ego of a stupid cocaine sniffing kafir, there'll be a convert operation to sabotage the senseless war against the Muslims of Niger who are in support of their new military leaders

Such a very useless and unwise, naively impulsive, and lazy to research leader. .

The guy is a failure.

if America, was always running to force in a short notice, many of you dimwit will be yapping your tongues and fingers.

We know the fraudulent tribalist criminal's
tactics of diversion. He is economically unsound, his divisive tactics is failing, so now, because he don't want to balance the forces, he then decides to fake involvement, in order to accumulate western weapons and money, while this whole thing could have been an arabic plan all along.

When you have an untrustworthy person in power, trust becomes hijacked.

If democracy is all about people, shouldn't the world listen to the voice of the millions Nigeriens on the street on Niamey in solidarity with the military junta? Democracy does not work in Africa. Just take a look at the sorry state of Nigeria today, has democracy helped us or worsen our situation? Nigerians were better off under the worst military rule than they are today under democracy. Leave Nigeriens alone let them solve their problems. We have a lot of problems right now as a nation, the political situation in Niger is certainly not one of them.

There is nothing good about war so it should be totally avoided.

Nigeria is also not ready to shoulder the burden of any military campaign at this time. It would be a huge strain on the already stressed economy.

ECOWAS should pursue diplomacy and be strategic in whatever sanction it can apply.

I'm sorry for the Nigeriens though. Military regime is a poor substitute for democratic rule. If they are lucky, maybe the military will hand over in as quickly as possible. But history shows this is not often the case.

It took Nigeria about 16 years to return to a functional democratic rule. But not after Abacha tried to follow in the footsteps of other African leaders who seized power through coups, transformed themselves into civilian presidents and end up becoming lifelong presidents.

Sadly, the script are often the same. The military takes advantage of current dissatisfaction with the civilian regime, takes over power and people celebrate.

Then they find out in time that the military also wants to stay in power and there is no way of removing them except they willingly remove themselves.

Of course the military will rule by force and decrees. Opposing and dissenting voices are not tolerated and antagonists disappeared or get locked up. No constitution, no legislation and a toothless judiciary.

And maybe Nigeriens will be lucky and would enjoy the regime, only time will tell.

But for now, they are not saying anything about supervising another election and instituting a new civilian regime which is not a good sign.
