You know the most underrated advantage of living abroad is their swift medical treatment and care

Do you know that Sam Okparaji died at Surulere football stadium because ambulance no gree start

Does this lady know how many Nigerians that has lost their lives because NEPA took light during surgical procedures

Do you know how many lives that has wasted in Nigeria to negligence and poor facilities?

Do you know I know someone that lost a mom because of 10k balance before treatments?

This is a free health insurance you get abroad for free

Let’s not even talk of minimum wage, basic amunities, security, standard of living and the rest

Omo I’m very sure Nigeria is the forbidden country God told Abraham

Do you also know that the number one reason to declare bankruptcy in Amerikkka stems from huge medical bills ?

Do you know that the average trip to the emergency room with an ambulance is not covered by insurance and cost around $2,500 flat?

Do you know that Amerikkka is so jewed that an on-counter treatment for malaria will cost you at least $700 (drug cost between $150-$250, consultancy and tests will cover the balance)?

Have you heard of goyslop? To eat natural healthy food will cost you three times what it will cost you here in Nigeria. Unless you like eating mystery meat cultured by Jews and their Monsanto GMO poison.

Are you aware that Amerikkka is the only country that indebts it's young before they get a job all in the name of student loans ? And that the racket has now spurned a new industry known as the Academic-Labour industrial complex ?

Are you aware that JewSA is the only country on earth that has private prisons for profits ? The Prison Industrial complex that has LEAs and the jewdiciary ensuring that Amerikkka remains the nation with the most incarcerated nation on earth.

So much for the land of the free and brave.

Amerikkka is the land of the fee and slave . An economy based on revolving debt.

Google the word "Economy" and find out its true meaning which stems from ancient Greek to mean : to lack.

The JewSA is a dystopian slave society.

This is after all, a nation that got a head start with slavery.

Not only is it not free, but it's probably the most expensive in the developed world.

Few months ago I fell down the steps in houston and broke a toe. Even with insurance I paid $900 out of pocket for a minor corrective surgery. If I didn't have insurance it might have cost like $3k

In the UK or Europe, that's free.

Nigerian lady has compared the cost of living in Nigeria and the U.S., and thereafter, asked Nigerians which of the countries offers better or cheaper standard of living.

In her post, the lady said the cost of buying a full tank of petrol in Houston, Texas is $45 compared to Nigeria where she put the figure at N45, 000. She went on to state that the cost of renting a two bedroom apartment in Houston a year is "$9, 600" as against the "N2 million" one would need to get a decent one in Nigeria. She also compared the cost of purchasing food, internet services, monthly wage earnings as well as home security between Nigerians and their counterparts in the U.S.

Check the name and you will know that she probably has no sen*e.

70,000 for airtime and internet?

Many of us are online 24/7 doing stuffs and we no dey spend 25k per month.

2 million for 2-bedroom depends on location. She should also know that there could be more expensive places in Texas and the U.S.

In summary, na one of these obidunce people.

I totally disagree with her, she got all her analysis wrong except for the grocery part. A two bed apartment in Houston can never be $9.6 per annum. Where I live which is relatively cheaper than Houston, it cost any where from $800-$1200 a month for a 2 bed. My motgage is $1.5k a month and its a now build, 4 bed. With 2 garage. Internet cost abt $50- $100 a month, excluding phone bills which is like $25. A full tank of gas will cost you from $60. I wonder where she got her data from. By the way, I live in Indiana

No mind am. NHS in UK that has months and in some cases years of backlog in surgery for patients.

Better than Nigeria by far no doubt, but certainly not wonderland like he's painting it to be.

As for US don't even go there. It's the most medical expensive system in the developed world. Don't be confused by the movies you watch where they dial 911 and ambulance e shows up in 2 minutes. They don't tell you the bill that follows. If you call emergency services, the cost of that ambulance might be like $2k.

If you have insurance you might still pay copay of like $400

Lol, the lady did some delusional tactics well. Most of the things she stated there are lies for USA or she probably live in the extreme suburb where she has to take 2hours ride to get to the nearest city.

—Consistent internet which will give Wi-Fi for a home for instance should be within $60-$100 monthly. Your phone bill could be $30, but it’s not gonna power most of your household gadgets and etc coz that $30 won’t be on an unlimited data plan.

—How can 2bed rent be $9600 per year? Does she mean in Houston for example, you’ll get a 2bed apartment for $800? She’s probably hallucinating.

In ATL for example, house rent in the city area for that 2 bed are usually within $1500-2500 per month. On top of that, you pay Light bill, gas bill, and the apartment monthly charges on sewage and common area if you live in an Apt complex. That could be additional $250 on it.

If it’s now mortgage, no way in hell will you get that monthly payment.

On average, in a city, you’ll pay nothing less than $18k yearly and that’s even being conservative. It could go up to $28k in total for most cities.

—I agree with her groceries of $700 monthly. That still make sense if you’re only spending on food.

However, to go out to a restaurant for 2 people, you spend nothing less than $80-100 in one sitting especially for Nigerian food restaurants. To the lounge, you spend nothing less than $100-$150 if you factor hookah and drinks for 2 people.

Except if you be get inside person will you even spend that monthly. Coz me I count jollification with food price.

Are you joking? The fuel tank on a Camry is like 15gallons
No sensible person drives their car until the petrol is totally dry. Most cars gas light would even come on once you have about 2 gallons left ( 50 miles)
So, realistically people with such cars would buy gas before the light comes on.

Simple maths
15 gallons minus 2 gallons = 13 gallons. For a full tank

Why are people like this? Where is lie in that?
$45 will get you about 13 gallons of petrol at $3.3 per liter. When converted to liters, 13 gallons is 49 liters.
How many small or mid size sedan takes more than 50 liter of petrol?

You and her are indeed right.

I had to go look up the price chart for the different states/cities in the USA, but my mistake was to think the listed prices was per litre instead of per gallon.

You are criticizing the lady without asking her how she arrived at her numbers. Maybe you are more delusional than her.
It seems like the lady is analyzing a budget for a college dormitory student or an individual with a room mate.
Her numbers are quite low for an independent working class or a family. I pay $3500/month for my mortgage, $200/month - phone bill (3 family lines)
$250/month for 2-vehicles insurance
$180 for cable & internet.
$1500/month -car payment (2 cars) Range Rover & Lexus RX350.
$150/month - water bill.
$300/month - electricity.
$1000 - $1500/month - groceries (family of 5).
$1000 - miscellaneous (I.e Nigerian families, car repairs, house fixes, lawn/yard care etc.)

Shhhh..... it's enough .... off your mic

rent at $9,600 per year. when even some student will pay upwards of $500 per month for shared accommodation in university dormitories.
If she bought a $180k house (3 bedroom)with 20% down payment in 2020 before the housing bubble and when interest rate was at about 2.5 - 2.8%, she could be paying that amount or even less in a good neighborhood in Texas.

You are correct about what you mentioned. USA is still better than Naija but the lady should have stated the actual truth about the cost of living instead of trying to lie to pass her claim.

That’s what I corrected on this thread.

Lastly, this minimum wage people keep saying, what is the percentage of government workers or graduates in the formal sector that earn exact 30k monthly? People shouldn’t just throw word around. I’m not sure they’ll be up to 3% of the total workforce.

After doing the costs of living, let's now do the comparison of average earnings in USA and Nigeria per household?

Not to mention that US economy is 43 times bigger than Nigerian. So average Americans can afford those costs of living much more easily compared to Nigerians.
