Legalization is for marriage certificate and birth certificates if you're going with your family.
I greet you, please the legalization of birth certificate, is it just that of the admitted students or the dependant must be legalized also.

I can see you didn't read my last post before you posted this message which i said all your certified documents have to be uploaded on https://enterfinland.fi/eServices/account/login

To God be the glory, i have 3 junior ones in Finland and one has gotten his passport last year. Mind you i’m a Senior level officer with Lagos State Government before you ask me what i’m doing in Nigeria.

Any information i put out here is through my experience because i personally assisted them through the processes.

I will soon share testimony of 2 other people here very soon because one of them had done his biometric at VFS,Abuja on Tuesday & interview at Finnish Embassy , Abuja on Wednesday.

I might not know about any other school process in Finland but for Vamia Vocational School, do not doubt my information.

God bless you

Your information about Vamia is correct. I filled the form and waiting to hear from them. Please i would like to chat with you. How can i get you in Facebook or WhatsApp? I need more information.

Someone told me they did interview in January, so I don't know if they'll do for this last application.

Hello ma,

I have been going through this thread and I will say you have been trying your best to answer all questions without insult or harsh response... God bless u...
My question is on this legalization of certificate; I understand marriage certificate and birth certificate is to legalized in the ministry of foreign affairs while educational certificates should be done in ministry of education.. but
1 . do you have idea how much it will cost to get this things done?
it's not really expensive. I don't think you should spend more than 3k per document for attestation. Or maybe 5k if they too want to start thinking of dollar increase

2. Must we travel to Abuja to get all these things done or it can be process in Lagos The federal ministries are in Abuja. I did mine there. I don't know if they do in Lagos

3. At what point do we need the legalized documents? Before applying for Admission or after we have gotten the admission and we want to put in study permit application or RP as the case may be?
I started mine after I got admission letter. If your faith is strong enough, maybe you can start now before you get admission but I won't advise you to

4. You mentioned €220 in on of your post, to be paid to Finnish embassy in Abuja or VFS is this payment for the all documents or per document
It's per document and you'll pay the naira equivalent

To legalize the marriage certificate, the birth certificate or NPC birth attestation of the wife and the affidavit of marriage must be attested at foreign affairs.

The WAEC/Neco certificate must be attested at ministry of education and foreign affairs.

These attestations are to prove the identity of the wife whether she's the student or dependent since she must have done change of name.
Re: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by Adeleyeibrahim: 7:34am On Aug 29, 2023
Thanks as always sir, this is quite explanatory.
One more question on this please. After all the documents mentioned has passed through MOE & MOFA, which of them will pass through second legalization by VFS global?

Every document you attested at the ministry will go to VFS. They'll serve as support for the marriage and children's birth certificates you want to legalize

Thanks for your response ma,

But the question 4 is still not clear to me... Are u saying I will pay €220 each to legalize the following documents
1. Marriage certificate
2. Birth certificate (for me)
3. Birth certificate for 2 dependants
3. BSC. Certificate
4 O, level totalling €1320

€220 for marriage certificate
€220 for each of your children's birth certificate. So for a family with 2 children, your price will be €660.

These are the only documents you need to legalize for the purpose of resident permit application. However, they'll need attestation at the ministry of foreign affairs before going to VFS.

For the wife, in addition ,she'll need to attest her birth certificate or NPC attestation letter, affidavit of marriage and waec/neco. These attestations are needed to authenticate her identity since she must be bearing a new name now as a result of marriage.

Yes I strongly advise you do them and just keep. You won't need to redo it when it's time for them to join you. Remember, you must mention them in the forms you'll fill now so just go ahead and do them now.

If they proceed without that legalized document which they expressly demanded, it'll most likely result in a negative decision.

In the request for additional information, they would have given you an option of explaining why you can't tender it now. Follow their instructions and let them know about your constraints

Thank you for all your help I just got a positive decision on my application
