Maybe grace to more grace. There are different levels of grace as well. There was no grass at any time. The man was an investment analyst who was in charge of pension funds at Shell. Then he became MidWest District Overseer a long time ago. He sent Iyin to one of the most expensive private secondary schools in Nigeria before he spent another year at an even more expensive prep school in Canada before he went to Uni there.

Has the guy made it bigger and utilized his opportunities? Yes. Is his story a grass to grace story as the average Nigerian would understand it? No.
If we become loose about our definition of grass to grace stories, we will have to add Dangote and Otedola. After all, they built on what they were initially given.

We could as well add Deji Adeleke to grass to grace association of Nigeria since he also built on what his family had and became one of the biggest billionaires in the country

100%. Building on family wealth does not equate to grass to grace.

Going from Shell workers son to a near-billionaire is still a grass to grace story

There are different levels of grass.

And his pops only became GO long after Iyin had made it. Perhaps it's Iyins status and wealth that gave his pops rank to win the GO nominatin
Fa fa fa foul.

You're way off the mark here. His popsy was chilling chilling and he enjoyed the best possible base to build from. That boy did not experience any hardship. He's like Davido singing Back when I was broke yo. Like morafucka which time you broke?

Secondly if you know anything about Foursquare church you will know that there's zero connection between that post and Iyin's feats. Foursquare is a slightly less radical Deeper Life and toned down version of MFM, they are not like all these prosperity Pentecostal churches.

Can 100% guarantee you absolutely nothing consign Iyin's status with the man becoming G.O of that church. Foursquare is simply not that type of church

LOL. You definitely haven't seen Asemota clapback over the years.

Iyin, as much as I know, rarely ever gets personal with his attacks. And the hate he's been getting on Tech Twitter recently seems to coincide with him being 'vocally' pro-Tinubu. He basically just tweets positive things he notices about the government or intends to see without necessarily antagonising the other parties, or prays Tinubu's government goes well.

He doesn't deserve that much hate. It's undue.
Lol. Iyin of the small pockets of genocide in Southern Kaduna fame??

I was neither here nor there about him till he made such an irresponsible statement.

His politics is his personal choice sha I don't care about that either but that was a way out of pocket thing to say about Southern Kaduna killings.

He preaches a funny brand of morbid optimism which again is his choice, this nigga never experienced real hardship so can't expect him to empathize with poorer folk but he dey misyarn sef sometimes (nobody is perfect anyway)

Ibori was a thief like practically all his fellow governors

He didn't get in trouble because he was a thief - he got in trouble because he went for the king (Obj) and missed. Same as alams story and Atikus story

The sad irony is that it appears he was the best governor delta state has had.
Far and away actually. That's how low the bar is for Delta cry

Dangote and otedola may not even be good examples sef

I read somewhere that when dangote was young he had a gambling problem. They gave him seed money and he blew it twice. Then he was on hajj with his uncle who made him swear at the Kabba he would never gamble again. I just cannot for the life of me remember where I read this story

As for otedola he did not go to uni and was loan sharking before he went to meet Obj who gave him his big break. Anyone who witnessed the nonsense he pulled in Zenon house will know he is an uncouth thug.

But that's just me digressing

Iyin is still an actually visible and trackable success story. Unlike most of our billionaires. something we sorely need in nigeria. not moguls who 'made money from real estate' As for twitter, he should probably take a page from people like bezos who almost certainly have professionals curating what they post. though i am not sure if professionals understand the nigerian demographic beyond i was born poor i chased bus every day and now look at me! God blessed me.

I don’t think this particular case will be business as usual. The public outcry is just deafening .

The fact that the IGP picked interest in the case , I’m willing to give the police the benefit of doubt to do the right thing in this matter

After Hushpuppy and Kyari matter, i folded and packed up any belief i had with the NPF.

Give it time bro. The IGP and the future one won't do anything about it, except snapping for IG and using 120 characters for a tweet.

I have many contemporaries who fit Iyin description. They are still in grass. His pop sending him abroad does not mean pops can baby him past university. Neither do their responsibilities extend much past paying school fees. Lot of niggas over here were soaking garri in uni while pops carried a massive schooling bill. You could write what you wrote up there for many gees who don't have financial freedom today like Iyin does

Example is Keniebi Okoko whose pops was chairman of Ijaw National congress. Keniebi was in UK and Canada still hustling like all of us till Jonathan called him home and made him a near billionaire. That is grass to grace. If someone told me that Keniebi was always set pointing to his pops leading INC, they will be far from reality

David Umahi is a typical example of round peg in round hole. The man too sabi.

Lagos - Ibadan Expressway will get solar street light.

Super Highway [concrete] from Abuja to Lagos ongoing [PPP]

Coastal Road from PH, across Cities in the East, North and end in Lagos [Concrete and PPP].

I pray this man succeed.

And now, we see once again, the efficacy and positive sensationalism of social media.

Whether people are catching cruise with a serious issue or cashing out and growing a brand, so far as the message itself spreads far, gets where it's intended and is acted upon, the aim is fulfilled.

Social media sensationalism is a very good thing. It's tiring seeing people talk down influencers when their positive effects can be seen and felt.
Nice to see the police act on this.

It is still not grass to grace as the general populace would have it. One of my very good friends from Uni was sent abroad for his Masters by his dad and came back to be named a commissioner. Apparently his dad was a respected grassroots leader in the state. The boy don hammer now but he can’t open his mouth and talk about grass to grace.

We might have to agree to disagree because the same way you said there are different levels of grass I believe that there are different levels of grace. Your parents can’t send you to expensive private school after expensive private school in a country where the average man on the street is not sure of where his next day’s meal will come from, and you will now be claiming grass. You are living in grace, just that your grace no high reach them Adenuga own.

Everybody just wan chop for this country.

Another white elephant, unnecessary project.

We already have roads connecting these cities, so what exactly do we need another Coastal road for? Must Transportation start and end with roads?

Benin Bye pass is a nightmare. Na Federal road
Benin/Sapele na nightmare. Na Federal road
East/West road is terrible. Na Federal Road.

But no, we need a Coastal Road from PH to Lagos, and it would be concrete.

Let me not even bring up Abuja's own now.

These projects are very unnecessary at this time.

Jalingo-Yola and Wukari-Mutum Biyu axes of the road from Ogoja to the Cameroon border.

Which is a very important route because of the food that comes into the east from the north.

But nah, let's make more shiny new toys.

The project seems to make a lot of sense to me. He said Lagos to Abuja will be 4 hours and maybe to PH, 3 hours.

As it stands, it takes roughly 10 hours to travel from Lag to PH and more than 50k worth of fuel.

That's unecessary waste of valuable time and money

You would think the FG has been faithful in maintaining their roads with the way they are rolling out bizzare ideas.

Coastal road from PH to Lagos, as if people were riding horses to PH from Lagos.

I won't be surprised if Umahi would indirectly own the Private firm investing in this project.

After Ore, the roads leading to PH are all bad, but nope, we need a coastal one this time.

There is an existing road already. Why not improve the road? Why start afresh to build a new one, and abandon the existing one?

And in what world will you cover 700km in 4 hours? Lagos to Abuja in 4 hours?

Lagos to PH in 3 hours?
