If it takes anybody 10-15years to settle down abroad the person should come back and go for premium deliverance.

why e be say the person papa or mama must sick or die within the 10-15 years.

sukkot i put it to you that you cant discourage me not to japa
lol bro this is a discussion not a discouraging thread. Why do all you millennials Have this persecution complex ? Like everyone and everything is against you ? You people are not that important ooo. If we make
our post it’s because we want to discuss issues. Has nothing to do with you or discouraging you. The world does not revolve around you millennials ooo you guys are narcissistic and egocentric with a dash of persecution complex. Bunch of weirdos . We can’t start any topics without you people thinking it’s about you or against your desire to japa. Nobody cares about you people ooo lol

it’s a reality. Just happened to my relative 2 weeks ago. I am still in mourning. Obviously I am related to the woman who passed
Sorry to hear. May God comfort you.

I always tell people with Japa Syndrome, there is always a trade off, have you considered the trade offs you are making? and have you made your peace with it?

There are challenges everywhere. What makes you a success is not so much environment as it is your mindset.

I'd rather remain a Nigerian that can afford to travel anywhere in the world and anytime I want.

There are many Nigerians in the same Uk who got work permit to work as auditors, nurses, tech , doctors,HR etc directly from Nigeria. There is post graduate work permit of 2 years for students who graduated. Many that could not get job after studies settled for care work 5 years work permit. All these categories listed above can travel to Nigeria at will.

Only people who cant leave are illegal immigrants whose visas have expired. Some of them could not come home for their own weddings talkless of burial. Abeg what is the big deal there nowhuh Person wey stay country illegally doesn’t have a choice na. This topic no follow.
no mind the OP. Na the japarian be doctor wey go treat mama or wey go hold her life make she no die? Not everyone is destined to be around during the sickness or burial of their parents. Make we hear word abeg

So this topic has to be explored because I know many people personally under this category. Now I don’t know about other countries but let’s focus on the UK for this topic.

I know that unless you are extremely lucky it is going to take you between 10 to 15 years to fully settle in terms of papers and money and career and housing etc. in between that time you are running from pillar to post and the silent prayer is that God please don’t let my mother or father fall sick within this 10 to 15 year timespan or else I am most likely never going to see them again.

Well I have many friends and relatives who this happened to. In that time span that they are still unsettled and looking for paper or money, mama get cancer for naija. They are stuck abroad. Mama eventually die. So they never got to see their mother for over 10 years and will never see her again.

So I guess the question is if you find yourself in a situation like this, being in the UK for over 8 years and papers never correct so you are stuck, then you hear that your mother is dying.

WHAT DO YOU DO? DO YOU ABORT MISSION AND RETURN BACK TO NIGERIA TO BE WITH YOUR DYING MOTHER KNOWING YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO RETURN TO THE UK AGAIN OR DO YOU JUST FASHI MAMA AND LET HER DIE WHILE YOU CoNTINUE YOUR QUEST TO LOOK FOR PAPERS AND POUNDS ? What would you do?

One could leave the UK and travel out to wherever one wants if you enter into the country legitimately. It is even hard to live and prosper in the UK illegally nowadays.
One doesn’t have to wait till after 10 or 15years before one can go back to see the loved ones in Nigeria except you are not sincere or something is shady.

If you have the Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) as a student, worker or a dependant, you could enter and go out so far you have your money for flight and informed your school or took permission from your place of work.

That your kind of scenario is common in Canada, Australia and US where people that are extremely fortunate to enter with tourist visa or student visa and decided not to go again.
Thanks, my Brother. What Sukkot quoted cannot happen to those living in the UK any longer as One cannot live and survive in the UK without BRP which legalizes one to go out and come in at will.

This guy is always knowing someone that bad things happened to because they japa.

I know you don't like seeing people moving out of this country to try new opportunities elsewhere, but you don't need to be posting things that never happened to support your agenda.

To you residing outside your fatherland and reading this, I pray you never experience what Sukkot is talking about.

I wish you well in that foreign land where you reside; flourish, never stop to settle, acknowledge the power of God and proper networking, take up jobs to increase your income and savings/ investments, live below your means and send money back home as often as you can.

And if calamity such as this still visits you, it is my prayer that it doesn’t break you.
Amen

Japa is good when you are destined to make it there but the other side japa is terrible for those who are experiencing it now. I know some people who have travelled through skilled visa program and are okay and are doing well compared to the unskilled ones who are still struggling after so many years.
One of my friend travels to Canada yesterday with his family on 10 years visa with work permit and I hope to hear good news from he gets there

Na your mama go first curse you if you try such. Stay and hustle. Data is cheap in both countries. Video calls are a thing. Make up for not seeing her by sending money home regularly. Try to bring one or two of your relatives over so they will enjoy the same opportunities as you.

People that read your post now will belive once you graduate from school, you get that 5 years work immediately. You won't tell them in most cases, they have to pay 10 to 12 thousand pounds to secure that Job...

You are attacking the guy, whereas, you did not know your uncle source of income, all you know is he is in UK and belive his day and night job got him those properties.....

But I understand you, nothing wrong in defending your family. But mentioning his properties without mentioning the job he does and salary he earns for people to fact check is deceiving and misleading....

So are we going to pretend that we don't have a sizeable amount of Nigerians in this category. Entering a country illegally.

Are we pretending we don't know people who go with tourist visa and hope magic will happen. Even this NL you will still see upon all the threads for proper relocation available.

We pretend a lot in this country sha. Pele OP.
