1.Them, the brave explorers ventured deep into the uncharted jungle, seeking hidden treasures.
2.Them, the colorful birds perched high in the treetops, filling the forest with their melodious songs.
3.Them, the old books in the dusty library held secrets and stories from centuries past, waiting to be discovered😊

In sentence one, "them" is used as the subject of the verb "ventured". This is wrong cause it's an object pronoun and can never perform the grammatical function of a subject pronoun. Note that the nearby expression "the brave explorers" is an appositive noun phrase that only adds extra details.

In sentence two, "them" is used as the subject of the verb "perched". This is wrong cause it's an object pronoun and can never perform the grammatical function of a subject pronoun. Note that the nearby expression "the the colorful birds" is an appositive noun phrase that only adds extra details.

In sentence two, "them" is used as the subject of the verb "perched". This is wrong cause it's an object pronoun and can never perform the grammatical function of a subject pronoun. Note that the nearby expression "the old books in the dusty library" is an appositive noun phrase that only adds extra details.

Appositives only serve to provide more details about a noun or a pronoun. A sentence should still be correct without them. Now, let's try removing the parts I identified as appositive noun phrases in your sentences and see if the they are correct.

1. Them ventured deep into the uncharted jungle, seeking hidden treasures.
2.Them perched high in the treetops, filling the forest with their melodious songs.
3.Them held secrets and stories from centuries past, waiting to be discovered.

As you can see, they're all wrong. That's because only a subject pronoun can be used be as the subject of a verb. In this case, that would be "they".

@OP, while such contructs might not be uncommon in old English, I believe they're only found in poetry today. Also, it's "good at English" in this context, not "good in English".

AllKnowing:

All wrong constructions. Take away the reduced relative clauses and repeat the sentences to yourself.

Sound awful, yes?

“Them” is an object pronoun, remember? It’s moderately possible, employing the infinitive, to have something which begins thus: “To them…”

You're correct, but those are not reduced relative clauses. They are not even clauses at all. They are noun phrases, and they function as appositives in the sentences made by that guy.

You provided an adequate explanation. "Them" is an objective case pronoun, not a subjective case pronoun, so in general, "them" cannot be used at the beginning of a sentence. However, there are some exceptional cases where it is acceptable.

Yes, them is an objective case pronoun, not a subjective case pronoun, so in general, "them" cannot be used at the beginning of a sentence. However, there are some exceptions, such as when the pronoun "them" is used as the subject of a gerund phrase. A gerund phrase is a verb phrase that ends in -ing and functions as a noun. In this case, the gerund phrase can be the subject of the sentence, while the pronoun "them" is the subject of the gerund phrase.

For example, the sentence "Them playing in the garden is fun to watch" is correct because "them playing in the garden" is a gerund phrase that functions as the subject of the sentence and the pronoun "them" is the subject of the gerund phrase.

By the rules of the English language, what you are asking to be done is NOT possible.

Why?

Simply because “them" is an object pronoun, whereas English sentences always begin with either a subject or a subject pronoun.

The subject pronouns are “I, he, she, it, we, you, and they”.

Thus, for any sentence that you try to start with “them”, the word "they" will always fit better - and correctly, to boot!

Most of us only know the basics of English. I am not an English teacher, but the sentences I provided seem correct to me. There is more than one English rule pointing to the fact that it is possible to use "them" to start a sentence. I wish a very knowledgeable English professor could shed more light on this, like a professor from Harvard, Oxford, or Cambridge, not our usual English teachers that only know to an extent.

There is no possible way i have read your examples.

In this case expect "them" is not a pronoun but a noun instead since nouns can be any word. Example an abbreviation

why will i say that ?
Expect i say something like

Them is not used to start a sentence.

In the above them becomes a noun not a pronoun

Or them is the only word in that sentence like

Them ! or them ? why them ?

"Them" is a pronoun. It is used to refer to a group of people or things. In my sentences, "them" is the subject of the verb phrase, indicating who or what is performing the action. The rest of the sentence provides additional information about this group of people. Therefore, "them" is used correctly as a pronoun in my sentences.

I understand that there is a possibility that I am wrong, because sometimes English doesn't even follow its own rules. But either there is a more logical explanation, or it is specifically stated that "them" cannot be used at the beginning of a sentence.
