Alleged father, which OBJ had strongly debunked as false. They look alike though. I could have sworn they are direct relatives.

Onitsha indigenes according to the current Obi of Onitsha in the late 2010s have Bini, Igala, and Ibo ancestries including his own ancestors. He also said it was the
Igala boat people that took his ancestors who migrated from the
Edo area across the River Niger to settle in the Onitsha area 500 years ago.

The Igalas have significant Yoruba ancestries too mixed along with migrants from the Wukari (Jukunoid) area, and Edo, and to a lesser extent Ibos, etc, according to the late Attah of Igala Michael Ameh Oboni in a 2016 Saturday Punch interview. He even stated in that interview that the Ifa oracle is consulted before a new Attah becomes a king. Igala language is classified as Yoruboid because of the many Yoruba words in it which even found their way through the Igalas into Ibo lexicon as loan words via Northern Anambra and Northern Enugu axis within the last 500 years.

Words like Ogede (plantain), Akuko (cock), Iba (fever), Ewure (Ewu in Ibo), Ifa (Ifa is known worldwide as the Yoruba religion, but is called "Afa" by the Nri who had links with
Igalas), Enu (Onu in Ibo), Okuta (Okwute in Ibo), Omi (Mmiri in Ibo), etc, are purely of Yoruba origin, and through Igala migration and settlement, trade, or military conquest got into today's Northern Anambra and Northern Enugu.


My point is that a lot of mixing of bloodlines, ethnicities, and trade around the border areas happened in the last 500 or more years, so distant relatives in the family tree exist in other ethnicities as well, hence the Doppelganger effect showed by OBJ and the late Obi of Onitsha Ado N'Idu.

My theory though.

False report. They did not strip him of his titles. He didn't get them from the group in the first place. The only people that can strip him of his titles are the Obas that conferred them on him. This group is only saying they will no longer recognise him with any of his chieftaincy titles any more. This headline is misleading.

The obas are very stupid. What is their usefulness in a democracy if not to sell a piece of land to 10 people and drink gin in the evening in front of their so called palace. The constitution says a local government chairman is higher than a traditional ruler in his domain and so it remains. Do you know what it means to be a General? The obas should Bleep off. As a Yoruba man, I think your write up is ok but you missed an important point. Check up your history books. Yoruba obas do not have absolute powers. We the Yorubas practice a decentralised system of government with evident checks and balances even before the arrival of the British as from 1898. The only region where the leader had absolute power was the north. I rest my case.
