The reason I asked if you think we're talking about list of groceries is, handing in a transfer list isn't just about that. You'll need in-depth conversation about these players. Rangnick was never in a situation to do this. At least to my knowledge.

As to whether Fergie would have been allowed 4 years in this age, i highly doubt he would have lasted that long without winning a trophy. Was only surprised at the reaction of people and how the responsibility for the breakdown of the relationship was shifted to Ten Hag.

They wanted someone like Rangnick that'll work with the manager. But few months into the process, they didn't want it anymore.

If I was to guess, I'd say it was because of his comments about open heart surgery and the likes. He was almost talking like every single player at the club would need to be binned. And a largescale recruitment process would be embarked on.
