Omokri Expresses Reservation Over RCCG’s Adeboye Praying Only For Israelis’ Peace

Updated Thursday, October 12, 2023 Popular internet personality, Reno Omokri, has pointed out that
"a greater percentage of Palestinians are Christians than the Israeli population".

Omokri's message comes amid a viral video made by the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye In the video, Adeboye backed Israel in the ongoing conflict with Hamas, a Palestinian militant group which rules the Gaza Strip.
Omokri doesn't agree with Pastor Adeboye on the Israel-Hamas war.
Reacting to this post, Omokri, also a pastor, disagreed with Adeboye's standpoint. He wrote on his verified X (formerly Twitter) handle on Wednesday, October 11:
“But, sir @PastorEAAdeboye, what about our brothers and sisters in Palestine? A greater percentage of Palestinians are Christians than the Israeli population. Half a million of them, to be precise. Doesn't the Bible, in Galatians 6:10, ask us to first show love to members of the household of faith before others? Perhaps they may feel abandoned that your message did not even mention them. “If I were a Palestinian and saw your message, I would sink into further despair. Acts 10:34 says God does not show partiality. But sir, are we not being partial when we pray for Israel and ignore Palestine? Perhaps it is an oversight.
“Sir, I have been to Palestine. I will not wish their condition on my own enemy. They are God's children, too. Don't they deserve our love and prayers and every possible non-military support we can rouse to alleviate their tremendous human suffering?”

Now you have allowed them to confuse you. There are Christians on both sides where killing is taking place. Isreal is not the victim so let's pocket the hypocrisy. My point is that you should pray for all Christians on both sides. The Aljazeera journalist killed by same Isreali forces few months ago is a Palestinian Christian. Her broad daylight killing was not condemned just like other innocent Palestinians killed. The fair thing is to pray for peace and comfort for grieving families on both sides

He should have simply prayed for peace instead of taking side.

Yes Hamas terrorists choose this war, but their are innocent christians and Muslims in Gaza and by extension Palestine.

Their are children and women.

There is no big issue here even if he prays for Isreal. First, Isreal is not the cause of this war, palestine- Hamas went to wake sleeping lion when Isreal was trying to build peace Bridges with saudi-Arabia. So, if pastor Adeboye said this to condone with them, there is no issue because Isreal is not the cause of this war but palestine-Hamas.

Also, RCCG has a church branch in Isreal; he may be praying for his members sake who were affected and provoked by palestine-Hamas and even celebrated successful attack of Isreal publicly. When there is also direct provocation to RCCG members in the Palestine or else where, he will also do same thing, but in this one, palestine-looked for trouble and they are getting it.

Besides, all true Christians are spiritual Isrealites, there is always emotional attachment even though church in Isreal is very very small compare to Muslims. Why Jews don't want to embrace Christianity is well spelt out in the Bible, it is not new to christians. Besides, Christians are serving the same God of Isreal (and not Allah) that old isrealite prophets revealed to the world.

Many Muslims also celebrated attack of Isreal openly and that grand mufti of Iwo even celebrated and said nonsense things that called for support. He never knew, there would be rematch that will silence palestine-Hamas. Now, it is difficult for any world organization to save palestine-Hamas from destruction they brought on themselves because they are the ones that invited trouble to come and eat with them. So, nobody should blame pastor Adeboye, he may be consoling with their members of RCCG in Isreal that were attacked unprovoked

Did anybody send palestine-hamas to go and wake sleeping lion? Isreal was busy building peaceful bridges with Saudi Arabia why palestine-Hamas was busy planning evil towards Isreal. palestine-Hamas even celebrated attack of Isreal openly. You can see that Saudi Arabia that usually be the first to talk in defence of Palestine don't even know what to say to beg Isreal to stop. palestine-Hamas acted foolishly at wrong time. Don't try to buy sympathy for them with your twisted and logical stories. I am sure down inside you, you were happy with when Palestine over successful attack on isreal just like many Muslims do publicly or emotionally.

For avoidance of doubt, both sides have considerable population of Christian and Islamic faiths.
