Did you receive your visa? And were you able to make the deadline. Please I’m currently waiting for mine

I’m current waiting for a decision on my tier 4 student visa without dependant. (Paid priority) I got the no straightforward email when my application was received by DMC on the 26th September. I have done paid call 4 times, sent a complaint.
‘ I received an escalation mail on the 11th saying that when they can’t meet up service targets they inform the applicant and they can see that a mail was sent to me on the 26th stating this. That prior to making a decision on an application, mandatory checks needs to be done in the individual home country and UK. Although we aim to we aim to decide all applications within published service standards, this is not always possible as the length to complete these checks is dependent on individual circumstances on each case. Each application is subject to mandatory checks which can take time to resolve. Thank you for your patience.

The thing is that my enrollment deadline is close by, it was even for 16th but the school moved it to 23rd for me. And currently I have waited 3 weeks, 15 working days and I paid priority.

Thank you for your response and letting me know. So it means I will have to pay extra if I need Assisted Service of uploading documents yeah?

I have used the Portharcourt TLS centre twice all in the month of September 2023 (for my mum’s visit visa and my sister in law’s). Aside the courier service and refreshments being offered, all the decisions were made within 5 working days. So I believe it includes priority service.

Please note that they do not offer assisted service at this centre. Upload all documents yourself

I live in the UK so I’m not the best person to answer this question but I remember my mom saying that the venue (hotel presidential) required they alight at ‘Rumola’ motor park of Peace Mass Transit and then walk or take a bolt taxi.

The hotel is close to the park. Use a cab as advised.

Please how do I tackle this, I am a still a student and I stated my sister will be the sponsor.

Sorry about the refusal.

My thoughts:

1. If you get some money as allowance, it is expected that you will have some savings - no matter how little (unless you are a minor). In that case, you should try and save some money every month before you reapply.

2. Based on number 1 above, in the section where you are asked how much you will personally spend, you can then input a reasonable amount that is supported by the amount of money in your savings. Nothing outrageous please.

3. Your sister can sponsor you with 3,000. Just ensure her documents support this

4. Provide documents from your school - ID card, results etc. Credible and verifiable documents to prove that you are indeed a student and you have a reason to come back to Nigeria to complete your education. If there is any reason for case worker to believe you can abandon your schooling in Nigeria to start afresh in the UK, your application will be refused.

I suggest you take your time to put your documents together, save some money and fill your form carefully before your reapply.

Good luck!

Good day all. I hope I get answered. For those who have used the PH Center, what does the £250 cover? Is Assisted Service, Courier and Priority services included in the fee? Thank you
Priority fees are £500 flat. The centre states that the fees are for courier, sms and premium lounge. It does not cover priority. If they decide before the stipulated time then that’s great but it doesn’t cover priority as priority fees are paid straight to UKVI and can not be conjoined with courier fees and premium lounge fees which are collected in Naira by TLS.

Thank you I will work on that too.. please I need more clarification on the amount issue.
Write £1 or 1 naira for the PERSONALLY part since the student is not contributing shi shi. I’ve mentioned this on different occasions on this thread.

This is not true at the moment, see the schedule attached from Gov.UK

Priority is available to purchase on TLS contact website as an additional service

Thank you boss, but please do you how long it take for them to send collection mail after the refusal?
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 4:12am On Oct 15, 2023
Oh my God. If it is a priority application you would pay for it. I never said it is not available to purchase. The money does not go to TLS. It goes to the Home office and tbat is why priority and super priority are only collected in pounds. I repeat it is a UKVI service.
Your mother and sisters applications were not priority applications.
They were treated fast according to you because the PH centre currently has low waiting times for now and NOT because they paid for it.
Stop arguing about what you have not understood or do not know. Your file jacket would also be a different COLOUR on biometrics day and not same as standard applications.
Priority is a UKVI service and the payment goes directly to UKVI and as such is classed as a REGULATED service. Not to TLS. If you kindly would open your tls page and see that priority and super priority fees are only collected in British pounds while the other fees are charged in naira. They are also not found on the first page but on the last page. That is step 2.
Sms, premium lounge, primetime, flexi, courier, keep your passport etc are services offered directly by that TLS location so are collected in Naira. For an application to be processed PRIORITY OR SUPER PRIORITY it would need to be paid for in BRITISH POUNDS and the application set at the top of the queue and the money for this is transferred directly to the UKVI and thus collected in pounds.

First of all, you can actually pass your input across without being rude and condescending. We are all trying to help.

Secondly, I’m not dragging it out I merely pointed out what I saw on the gov.uk website and my personal experience.
Thanks

You mentioned that what I said was not true. Perhaps you could have started by not insinuating lies from my part.
I have only shown you that it is/was indeed true. Cheers.

Is priority service price different for locations? Cos priority service was increased from £250 to £500
two weeks ago, so how can you say those services plus priority cost £250?

Your waiting time was less probably because they had less applications to attend to.

On the application, you pay $101 dollars as standard before you can submit your visa application (this was in September) then, I wondered if a part of the £250 or 246k naira was completing the above payment to a total of £250 for priority.

As I mentioned earlier, as of the time these applications/biometrics were made our experience was different e.g the cost was £250 for priority I believe before the increase recently.

Whatever the case maybe, I recommend finding out more if in doubt.

Hello guys .... my wife's parents were refused visa last week. They are coming to the UK for the daughters graduation and the daughter indicated she'll be funding everything with about £2,000 each and her statement of account has almost 7k. We plan to reapply immediately because the graduation is 4 weeks away... can we put 1m each in their account and say they plan to spend half of it personally during the trip or we should nullify their own statement of account entirely... below is the screenshot of the refusal letters

1 month for graduation is the first red flag.
Next pls clarify what documents proving their ties to Nigeria that they did submit. It is not good enough that the sponsor will wholly fund their trip. Their personal circumstances each would be taken into account and now to make matters worse both of them who would have served as home tie to the other, both of them want to travel together for graduation. Not good enough seeing that they have failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt why they will be returning to Nigeria.
Stuffing each person’s account with 1 million and reapplying is not the solution. U must address and prove what will bring them back to Nigeria.

It was stated in the application that they want to spend some times with the grandkids before returning to Nigeria.... as for documents, my mother in law is a deputy director for which I submitted appointment letter, last promotion letter and statement of account. My father in law is retired and appointment and retirement letter was provided as well... the document of the house which they jointly owned was provided as well. We might reduce the time to 2 weeks though.

they cant have such long years of working or just retiring and present such account statements and both of them want to be sponsored fully. What happens if your sister with 7k pounds after spending 4k on them is not able to meet up? So she would be left with 3k. Then if something happens and both are not able to go back, she will be struggling financially as she would have her bills + them tk take care of. Then does it mean they will recourse to public funds? My opinion. .. do not reapply now, work on bank statements… work on ties. At least the person working should aim to have some funds. Cnt have only 300k in account and say they will spend 200k out of it. ECO is asking what sort of decision is this? To spend almost all account balance on 1 month trip that one can not personally afford makes no sense and casts doubts on their intention.
Last promotion letter is not enough, provide all promotion letters and lastly let one person step down for the other while using the other partner as one of home ties.
If one person gets granted, then second can retry

They can't travel separately as my father in law is almost 70 and he can't stay back or come alone, also If We are to work on the statement, it will definitely be late for the graduation. They both have cooperative savings over the years that is into millions but I don't feel it's necessary that's why I didn't put it in the previous application.
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Newbiein2016: 12:01am On Oct 16, 2023
Giselle is giving you good advise but it's up to you to take it.

Your response indicates this application was approached in a willy nilly manner and to be honest rushing to reapply might earn another refusal if not done properly.

You need to prove to the VO that they will return & will not access public funds during their stay in the UK.

To do this, you must show through carefully put together documentation their hometies to Nigeria.

This is not restricted to their house documents but can and should include:

- Their financial circumstances (including all bank statements showing the cooperative millions, which BTW ought to have been included ab initio). You should have included their savings information.

- Their professional ties (employment letters, promotion letters, reference letters, payslips, retirement letter, retirement benefit, even pension accounts & statement etc.)

- Their social ties (e.g. if retired and a member of a society, should include this with supporting documentation)

- Family hometies (other children, grandchildren in Nigeria). Given this refusal, it might be prudent for only one person to apply as advised and the other serve as hometie.

- Any other tie to demonstrate they'll return home.
