Hi fellow Nairalanders,

PLEASE HELP ooo
I have an admission offer to study 1 year PGC in strategic management. My tuition fee is $18,263 cad. I have PAID my first semester tuition of $ 9,000 cad. As a banker, I intend to sponsor myself and my Acc statement has a closing balance of 22,500,000 naira which is equivalent of $40,000 cad( no lump sum). PLEASE IS THIS A GOOD POF Considering my second semester tuition of $9,263 cad and one year living expenses of $10,000 cad is covered, ( that’s visa officers still expect you to have reasonable money left in your account after your tuition and living expenses is shown)

Self sponsor is a crazy route to follow and I have had my share of the breakfast recently. These VOs shine their eyes once they see selfsponsor nowadays. My advise, complete your full tuition fee and do a GIC of at least 10k CAD. Have solid home ties, letter of introduction, landed properties, tax clearance, pension reference and statement, employment letter, affidavit of return, etc. I believe your closing balance will be sufficient afterwards.

To be honest it’s not that straightforward. The masters for instance, everyone I asked on Nairaland convinced me it was impossible to get a masters with a 2:2, I had simply given up till i was introduced to this agent. My fear is just this statement of account issue. Thanks
Damilare5882:
Honestly, I don’t see the reason for using agents if you are a regular reader of this platform .. You have all the resources you need here , all you need to do is to just take time to read and consult by asking questions. It’s straight forward. Get a list of college that fits your criteria , apply , secure your addmisson, write your SOP , gather supporting documents, work out your LEGIT POF .. go on Canadian IRCC portal, upload and apply ! Simple as ABC !! … Just ask questions! People here will help you proof read all your documents .

Agent almost ruined my life in 2016 until I came here and got legit organic help from people here. With the help of people here , I did everything myself. Not all agents are bad tho .. all I am saying it , you can do it yourself without them.

Good luck 🍀

Please, can anyone help with this?
Savvypho:
Please, I need some help/advise. I am currently in Canada on a visitors visa but in the process of applying for a study permit. I intend to apply for my husband and son to come with me to Canada. Here's the issue. On the new portal, while trying to fill out my son's application, the system is requesting for "inviter's" information. Do I enter my info since I am the principal applicant or does it have to be someone else who is residing in Canada? Please help.

Please I need advice. I am looking for affordable schools in Canada for masters.
My bsc is 2, 2 Comp Sci
My intended course is; Data analysis related (AI, big data, ML, Business Analysis, all related to data analysis)
My intended budget is; total tuition for whole program- less than 15k CAD. 10K CAD will be excellent🙏
Program duration: 2yrs
Course and school should be Post graduate work permit eligible.

Please help a brother. If I missed out any info that will help in the search, please let me know

What masters are you doing that you need 100M proof of fund ?. You could ask ur agent how they did their calculations. From information available here and other sources, minimum funds required to support yourself as a student: show first year tuition fee ,best to pay some or all of it if you can, yearly living expenses of 10k, 20k for 2 years program.
4k for first accompanying family member and 3k each for others. With maybe an additional 5k for miscellany. I guess you are self sponsored, in which case they want to show every fund, and maybe they are also trying to give the impression that you have excess. But like someone pointed out earlier, the self sponsor is hard to win. i tried it in 2018. You might need to show more than money. Assets and ties. Just an advice, sort out your pof yourself. Pof is not just about dumping millions in your bank account. How do you explain it with proof ? Explain the source.

No I’m not self sponsored per se. My dad is my sponsor so the funds should be in both our accounts , mostly in his and yes ties were provided.

Trust me I was so shocked when they mentioned that amount but they told me if I can’t provide that they’re not interested in touching the application

Good day guys.

Please if I open a dollar account and source for dollar in blackmarket, can I use the dollar card I'll get from the bank to pay on Flywire USD debit/credit?

Flywire black market rate is crazy.

Anyone with experience?

Greetings House ,

Gurus Please I need advice.

My friend got refused this morning and attached below is the message from the VO.

Here's some details.

My friend is being sponsored by his Canadian cousin who is a pharmacist, has 53kCAd in his account. He also attached property documents worth 450kcad and tax documents too.

My friend is studying a two-year(4semesters) PGD program, with a total 3 semester tuition costing around 22k( each semesteris 7k) 4th is CO-OP, no tuition, He has paid 7.7k CAD already.
.He also secured a 10kcad per session post-graduate scholarship award from his work place .

I'm a bit confused, is his relative based in canada not eligible to sponsor him?

Please how can someone who is 28 years demonstrate strong home Ties.

Good morning,

My husband got admission to st Lawrence college for fall 2024 and my sister wants to co sponsor him. Does she have to transfer a lump sum(20M) into his account or she should pay it in bits?

It's not a must to have a niece or nephew same surname because women can be married out of the family.
But provide proof of relationship and explain it on your SOP

pnieeventures:
Good day everyone,

Have gotten approval for MPower loan( awaiting disbursement upon submission of study visa), my concern is the amount to be repaid which is more than double the approved amount spread across ten years.

My reason for applying for the loan in the first place is, instead of stressing to source for 22,000cad for tuition fee, while not let MPower take care of the tuition then I work to pay back in installments while also using it to build credit scores but I read somewhere that it is not worth it, that it kind of like enslaving oneself; that it is better to source for the funds( abeg with this our currency devaluation every minute, money wey de bank de loss value every day, complete POF way I gather to use build account since June no reach anything again when I wan use am now)

Please I need your genuine opinion, advice and criticism on this before I get myself deeply rooted in it.
@Zubizareta,@JMG12,@Bobomaigida,@Damilare5882 and everyone in Maple land come put mouth for this o.

Sorry for the long post

Hello sorry for bothering you, pls how did you go about getting the loan approved? Mpower got in touched with me to fill an excel template to show if there's other sources of funding for my study. But I heard if one provides the other source they would deduct the that same from the loan request amount. And did you give dem other source? Pls respond will go a long way. Thanks in anticipation.
