Thank you so much for your response.Would you advice I go for the diploma in practical nursing or should I go for th accelerated 2yrs Bsc nursing program even though I have a degree before.Pls which of these show career progression.Thank you.

Go for practical nursing......the accelerated 2 years degree nursing is even more competitive, and in some cases, reserved for PR holders and citizens. Both the practical nursing and accelerated degree still show career progression as long as you have your Nigerian bachelors degree in nursing and you are working as a nurse. Let your SOP do the job of explanation. However, know that gaining admission into the nursing school in Canada as an international student is one of the most difficult. Most bachelor degree nursing holders in Nigeria enters Canadian schools as PSW, Palliative care nursing student and other nursing areas before transitioning to full nursing education and practice.

Hi everyone,

I want to apply for a course at St Lawrence College but the course will be offered at Alpha College which does not offer PGWP. I was made to understand that Alpha college is affiliated with St Lawrence College and after completing the program, I will be able to qualify for PGWP because St Lawrence college will also give me its certificate.

I don't know whether someone has been in this situation before and he or she is able to apply for his or her PGWP. Please advise.

Avoid Alpha College at all cost. 700 Indian students could not start school as the school over admitted their capacity given to them by St. Lawrence. It was a very big issue. Go and read about. It is in the news

Yes you can.
Then decide on the one to go with during your visa application.
Take into consideration the province with affordable cost of living and easy PR pathways.

All the best.

Please can I accept two admissions and deliberate on the one to go for? I just got the second one today after accepting the first one.

The first have internship and the second does not have. Which do you suggest I go for?

First payment is once and second is easily spread and cheaper.

Good morning, everyone, please is it possible for IRCC to call the bank to confirm if ones POF is still present in the account?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by emmyoddy: 7:55am On Oct 20, 2023
Not in all cases.

Sometimes they request for an updated statement from you.

Sometimes they call to verify the authenticity of the statement.

Thank you. But what do you think about the co-op and no co-op? I learnt the co-op is better on YouTube but I'm not sure.

I need assistance please. I got an offer for admission at centennial and dep deadline is soon, but I also applied to Red River, Winnipeg in September (my first choice) and I'm yet to get an offer but they requested for my waec scratch card on the 16th Oct (it wasn't among the required documents when I applied).
Is it wise for me to wait for the Red River or should I go ahead to pay for centennial? If I pay for centennial and Red River later accepts me, can I request a withdrawal/refund without evidence of visa rejection? I'm so confused and nervous... I don't want to make the wrong decision. Any advice?

It would be difficult to convince the VO to grant you visa to go and do PSW. Go for practical nursing. Your O'level grades and your B.sc degree grade in Microbiology will be the determinants for getting the practical nursing diploma.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 9:19am On Oct 20, 2023
You need to research more about it. The first is a path to LPN, while the second is to RN

No confirmation is done just once, what they can do is request from an updated statement from the applicant

I really dont mind other provinces college that accept a 3rd class and have project management course or construction PM
JMG12:
There is nothing you can do for it to be open, you have to wait till they start Fall 2024 intake then you can apply. However, you can look out for other colleges in other provinces

For medical: u need ur original International passport (for seeing), Canada Medical request form (if Canada sent u a mail to go do medical) and your proof of payment for the medical.

If you are doing 'upfront medical', u won't have the form from IRCC. Just go with the other two. Don't buy the file & biro they sell there.

For Biometrics: u need the biometric request form sent to your mail after u submitted your visa application (hard copy). Your International passport.

Thank you so much, I just finished my medicals today.
It was supposed to be for 10:00am but I came there by 7:40am.
We were later allowed in by 8:10am and then we went through metal detectors screening and were given number tags. And boom by 9:00am. I was through with my biometrics and headed back home.

You are certainly done. Seeing the doctor is usually the last stage (in most cases). You don't need to sign out anywhere. Provided you completed all the test required, you are good to go.
