Go and get the visa, let us see.

P.S. Learning a new language is tough especially for native/Anglophone speakers. So, I can't blame people who opt for the UK, especially married persons.

That's the issue per se
But if the visa was no issue
It's not so expensive as such

stories stories stories...I'm very sure you haven't walked in his exact shoes for a month, and rather than shut up, you'd instead pontificate like you are special. Fact: some will always have it easier than others not necessarily cos they are better or better prepared. It's just life. Nairaland will scream to everyone who can hear to japa like your life depends on it, and when you do and fall into some troubles, same Nairaland will say you no sharp, you no wise, you no dey hear word, you should have paid all your fees. Crap talk!

There's no probable basis to assume the OP's story is genuine. It's likely he's just another member of the Anti-Jakpa Crew, a group of JEALOUS people who've taken it on themselves to discourage migration from Nigeria OR denigrate those who've already left the country.

No matter how bad it is in the UK, it's very likely an improvement for the vast majority of those who choose to migrate there from Nigeria and most other African nations. I have 2 relatives and 1 friend who left Nigeria just this year, I'm in contact with them and they're overjoyed. One of them comes from a fairly well to do family, my family rented housing from them for a while in Nigeria. He was a working lawyer in Nigeria, over 40 years old when he left with his wife and 3 kids. That's the fact. So it's hard to take some anonymous poster seriously. The entire post might be fake...in my opinion it's entirely made up.

Good Luck to Nigeria.

My observation so far about this rant is that most of you that actually JAPA are well to do people in Nigeria who also had gateman and maid in their houses and offices . The real people that need this JAPA doesn't even have 100k savings in their account .

If you leave your comfort zone to go meet an unexpected , you have to learn to humble yourself and learn to start from beginning otherwise you will continue to lament and frustrated .

Have you guys ever asked yourselves why the people born here are moving back to Nigeria and the ones born in Nigeria are desperate to travel?
Nothing de abroad but they won’t listen. They are blinded by the exchange rate, as if all the money u make will be changed to naira to be spent in Nigeria.
Poor mentality!

I wish I could like this comment 100 times, leave them be for experience is the best teacher.

my dream was that immediately I came over, i and my dependant will search for jobs.. work and pay bill. but that is not feasible as I am seeing it.

i started this process with 15 million naira then when naira nose dive i had to borrowed extra 15 million to top it with interest of almost 2 million naira. landed in uk, started seeing the reality on ground

i have been in UK since 1 month plus. but getting a job as a migrant or new commer without UK experience is not easy.
in fact i have sent over 200 job application for cleaner, care assistant etc but all came with a sorry we have moved on to the next stage or you don't have uk experience.

school fees has to be paid. everyone here in tight corner... school has sent mail threatening to report to the immigration if school fees is not paid in the next few weeks to most Nigerians here.

no job, house rent is expensive.. going for 450 to 600 pounds per month.

travelling through student route is not really easy because you have to balance between work and school.. 'even at that where is the job as a new migrant.

Please if you are considering coming to UK for now.. please put on hold. the crowd from Indians, Pakistani, Malaysia, china etc is overwhelming.

it's not worth selling your home to be here.

i sleep in indeed and all this job site.. still yet nothing, bills mounting up.

all my colleague i came with are still with no jobs in other cities

after spending 13 million coming here with extra 3k dollars now almost exhausted chai

if u know you don't have full school fees, house rent for 12 months, upkeep.... running to 35m to 40m please stay back... stay back or apply through skill route.

edited with more info.
Well since you have no skill you should start with a no skill labour job, then migrate to Security to pay fees, and take it from there. The UK needs a clear plan for one to succeed!

U in University of Salford.. I finished from there in 2016.. let me share my experience.. perhaps UK has cast now cos I have heard many people complaining about lack of jobs now in the UK. When I was there.. I had 4 jobs (Manchester United stadium as a kiosk assistant), worked for Arch hospitality in Manchester city stadium as a team leader, event steward for G4S where we go in and out of Manchester to provide security for events.. intact we went to Scotland few times for matches etc. The fourth job was an Inventory Assistant for RGIS.. we count and audit stocks inventory in retail stores such as Tesco, Aldi and Lidl.

I stayed in UK for 15 months studying at Salford and working well above 40 hours per week (VERY RISKY). I paid my full rent, feeding and other expenses from my salary. Thank God my dad handled school fees. While leaving the place I brought around 5000 pounds back to Nigeria cos at that time, there was no post study Visa.
Nothing has changed, still same level, the truth is some people are slow some are fast to get the ball rolling, some xpect everything to be done for them so when they find themselves i n an environment where they now have to hustle evry, wahala is the name of the day!

Can you bring out 45 million naira as at today? Don't be offended
How many Nigerians can boast of such money?

About 1000,000 Nigerians traveled from January to early September how many of them can bring out that money?

Away from that... I never said I was stranded. Did I? I simply said in expectations of job I saw nothing and I can't convert naira to pounds.. Naira is dead now 1500 to pounds.

Am just a young boy... Who raised that money legally without putting hands in crime despite hash condition of Nigerian economy... I no try?

Finally I gave a review of the economy and system and am telling those who will sell their only home in expectations and f job immediately to be careful and waigh options

When you look in the mirror, who do you see looking back at you? No matter how you try to spin it, it all leads back to you and your dishonesty when applying for the visa. At least admit this part. You made a mistake by lying on your application and not planning properly. You didn't kill someone. Don't be afraid to own up to your mistake.

Answer the following:

- Who submitted proof of finance along with your application when applying for the visa?

- Why didn't you put the true amount you had available for your survival on the form?

- Why did you decide to lie on your application knowing firsthand you did not have enough?

Again, maybe I need glasses. One thing is certain. You're not a straight forward honest person else the title of your post should be "My UK Japa. Never lie on your application and do proper research before travelling"

So, here are my final thoughts on the matter:

- You are not who you say you are in Nigeria
- You're not serious minded hence the mental laziness to do proper research to even survive in the UK
- You're definitely not a Dev. or coder (Oh dear lord) as you mention it
- You're an attention seeker

You have a problem.
I bet you have never seen 1 million naira before. I said I started the process with 15 million when naira was 560 to pounds on cbn rate (26,000 pounds) but ur leaders who knows next to nothing brought policies that took naira over to a 1000. I had already started then I had to sourced 15 million naira to cover up.

Are you pained that I said I have a business still functioning in Nigeria?
Well I left Nigeria for one reason, and insecurity, failed government policies, lies from government, tribalism and insult from persons like you who see their self as always right.

I could afford to leave UK now and try elsewhere... That's my choice and my writeup are my personal opinion as I am entitled to freedom of speech.

Fight it out there o. Don't ever think of coming back to Nigeria till you stabilize there. Nigeria is still on autopilot, moving backward and a little forward. In 5 years time you will be happy that you leave this hell called a country. I wish you all the best in your endeavor. Please don't listen to all these naysayers on nairaland blaming you for leaving the hell hole. Most of them are not different from our greedy politician, they live flamboyantly on proceeds of sharp practices, corruption, fraud, etc and that's why they can't leave the country. Some of them who claimed they have businesses or investment here are mostly liars , their business practices are embodiment of corruption. As at today real business owners are lamenting. People are facing tough time now. We just pray it gets better. Just believe with time things will be better for you there. Don't ever look back to your vomit. Pursue your goals with unwavering commitment in the face of challenges.Face your new path and you will conquer your fear.

Getting jobs on indeed is very difficult. Use agency please. I got job as soon as my brp came out. All the jobs I searched on indeed none was successful. Search for job agency around you. You just need information to get started.
If you talk about housing crises in uk I will understand but jobs especially factory and cleaning is rampant for full time workers in uk.
Sorry about your stress.
