The latest GT App is Gtworld and it's on playstore. They have been trying to phase out the GTCo app for a while, I guess it's finally done. On Gtworld app if you increase limit, the maximum used to be 5M before the latest update. I don't even know if you can increase limit on your own now again because that option seem to invisible on the app after the update.

You can try installing the Gtworld app and see if you will be able to use it.

Stanbic used to be the hardest of all of them. You can not do any big transaction except you have increased your limit. Increasing limit will require you to sign an undertaking letter with a witness before approval in the banking hall before they introduced their holdco all encompassing Stanbic IBTC app. However, I think there is an option to do it on the app now.

Thanks for your response, av tried all I could but later resolved to using POS machine which I think it's the best thing I can do. Transferring large sum money on gtbank is now a problem. I will avoid them henceforth for huge transaction.

Stanbic is the best and the easiest, onceu increase ur limit on the app after 48 hours it's effective.

The below is the only gtbank app and no other gtbank app on playstore and is GTCO app

If I may, with the prevailing exchange rate and higher inflation eroding the insignificant upfront interest on TB, especially some of us in the 364 days bracket, how una dey cope?? I only wished I had saved in usd. I am in severe PAIN!!

After doing it, you will not be able to use it immediately. So it's not instant.

They actually messed up the app with the update. I can't access my NIN and BVN easily from their app again. angry angry

Is this not a good thing considering that if someone has access to your phone he also has access to these details? I would think it is good that this level of detail is hidden.
To the bros complaining that he needs a token to transfer up to 2m, I also think it is a good thing a token is required for the same reason that if your phone is lost, you can at least be assured that no one can easily move your money out.

It is always good to look at the flip side,

Very true. Services that were readily available before are no longer seen there.

If someone get access to your phone and he is able to get your bank app password/PIN, the least thing you should be worried about is your NIN and BVN saved there because those are just common information that could be gotten elsewhere. Infact except maybe for identity theft, those information as no that significant to other people as we take them.

Good afternoon
I will love to ask a question, which stock market has a higher return, US Stock Market or Nigerian Stocks Market? Is it better to invest in the US Stock Market using Bamboo or just stick with the Nigerian Stocks Market?

The Nigerian Stocks Market doesn't come with the headache of Exchange Rates but using those FinTech Apps does.

your reply will be deeply appreciated

key word Average
S&P500 annual average return ~ 7-9%
NSE average return ~ depends on data you look through ranges between 6 -12%
NASDAQ average annual return ~10.9%

Figure out your goal (dividends? growth? short term? long term investment?), this will help with planning accordingly. It's best to have exposure to both markets with well understood risk :reward ratio to avoid disappointment. Do not invest the amount you are not willing to see down the drain.

Nigerian stock exchange : invest in what you understand or able to research to avoid FOMO into trouble. check out Nigerian stock market pick alert thread. Whatever you do, save yourself the hassle, open account with Nigerian brokerage house for this.

US stock exchange: If you are non-resident for tax purposes, be mindful of 30% witholding tax on your dividends witheld at source compared to 10% in Nigeria stock exchange. While no capital gain tax on profit from sales of shares. Bamboo seem to be legit, as for exchange rate either way you win wether devaluation or strength happens to the naira so long as your investment is properly done.
To avoid derailing the thread specific questions may be answered here .

Keen to know what data is this is based on.
Also are you looking at average return of the index only in naira (which has lost upwards of 10% yearly against the dollar) or average return as weighted in USD ?

Returns talked about here is weighted in naira. check out morningstar (search NSE all share nigeria), you can check out investing.com for daily /weekly or monthly return up to 2004 i think. The last 3 years pretty much an anomaly.

Just contact Stanbic IBTC to know if their bid was successful. They can delay in deducting money sometimes even if successful.
