Since you want to insult no problem. Benin and Togo modernised their roads and ports to make importation easy. Importing through the land border also reduces backlogs of clearing at the Apapa port. You would know that if you had a business or bothered to read, mango seed brain. undecided

.

Most of our fx is spent on fuel imports even though we are one of the largest oil producers in Africa. There is also a huge backlog at the sea ports because again, we waste time moving oil and oil products. undecided

One of your APC miscreants was crying over the price of ventolin a few days back. The cow was posing on a private jet during campaign season not knowing wahala would touch him soon.

Yet APC miscreants are crying about the price of ventolin. GRV that was sponsoring medical treatment for Lagosians isn't your problem, if he quits politics and goes back to America it won't make drugs cheaper. grin

Producing cigarettes and life saving medication what do you think is more important? grin

I have no business with shithole countries, whatever Togo and the other impoverished one is doing is their business.
So because of backlogs at my ports,I'd direct importers to put destination to cotonou, get there, pay some levies to their government, then enter inside cotonou with container, find big bucket truck ,transload to what should be in 3 containers to one truck ,reach border, under declare what they're carrying and I keep losing revenue and you say you're smart abi?
Not to talk of the daredevil ones that will find small shanties in Benin Republic, warehouse their goods and use bikes and scrap card and smuggle all sorts of items to Nigeria unchecked, undeclared and zero duty.
And you say you get sense? undecided which yeye backlog grin

What have you done about the finished imported petroleum products??Dangote and waltersmith na person like you.
Government has no business running businesses ,private enterprise should solve this problem.
Na Vanderbilt and Andrew Carnegie them build rail roads in America and Rockefeller built education .
Drugs cheaper or expensive isn't My concern, sell at 100k I'd still buy or port to a cheaper alternative if it exist for what i need it for cool

If producing cigarettes bring more revenue,I'd focus on cigarettes and import medicine. Comparative advantage things, you mustn't do everything but of course you won't know as you're dull.

When the doctor sends my bill I'd write a check, irrespective of cost or how much it has inflated. That time is better spent creating more income sources than screaming that medicines or milk now cost more on the shelf by 2naira,

Lol. Life sha. Rollercoaster. You can be relevant once and some silly uncalculated behaviours, you're down out there, like many people who choose online to mask the sorry life they find themselves tangled in.

It hurts me a lot. Especially for the fact I spend a lot of time around facilities and environs where people are in constant need for health rescue. I really hope succour comes. I really really do. It hurts me a lot that most people are just a disease away from death, whereas a treatable disease though.

However, I'm 100% aware it's tough the world over in terms of inflation. Lamentation is widespread. Essentially, I'm aware of the position GVR is coming from. An insincere fellow who wants to take a share of the advantage to nab or attack. He and his gaffer are obviously no different from the people they criticize.

Speaking the truth is not hard at all. Anyone can do it. Boko Haram leader has some of his truth moments. Herdsmen defends their ignoble actions with their truths. Hamas and Israel leaders. Putin and Zelenski and Biden. Hitler and so on.

Acting the truth gangan is the hurdle. Everyone runs from it. No let GV deceive you. Nothing to offer.

No be lie. How about you share what you feel could be a solution since there are no real truths according to you.

In as much as I haven't been to Nigeria in over 9 years, I can comfortably tell you that this is a global problem.

I have been to several countries in the last few months, and there has been a massive inflation. This is not a Nigerian problem, it is a global problem.

The level of inflation in South Africa, Canada, the United States, and Australia is mind blowing.

Don't get me started on the flight tickets. It was never this high, and I can tell you it is at an all time high.

To be honest, the world is upside down. You walk into a grocery store with $200 budget, and you're asking yourself what the hell is going on in here. Its just crazy.

No one is refuting that but as you’re quick to mention that inflation is high everywhere; be also quick to mention the steps the respective governments are taking to cushion these effects because most of y’all are excellent at quoting one thing and deliberately ignoring the other in a bid to justify crap!

Bullharry impeded the movement of Nigerians for 3 years while achieving nothing with his foolish border closure. Donkeys like you with slave brains like you can't understand, maybe if you had a passport you could. grin

I have no business with shithole countries, whatever Togo and the other impoverished one is doing is their business.

Because you can't afford to travel there, you don't even have a passport which explains your daft takes on how trade in Nigeria works.

"Shithole" with 24/7 electricity, no terrorism and currency that holds greater value than the naira. If they are Shitholes Nigeria is actual shit.

This guy will do anything to push a political agenda and its sickening, and if this is all he could come up with then I'd say Lagos made a good choice denying him office as his analysis is too basic for someone hunting for that office.
GSK exited Nigeria and as such ,their former distributors, wholesalers and retailers that are quite sure won't be having supplies from the parent company stocked up a lot before the exit and are hiking prices because of the supply uncertainty the exit caused, pending when the parent company will find an alternate route to market to start resupplying by proxy is what this fool is using to prove inflation?
Many multinationals are finding out they shouldn't have presence in a lot of markets worldwide and are shutting down their offices to cut cost and service their already established supply channels by proxy, its not a Nigerian thing .
Quite a fool if you ask me.
If you want to measure inflation ,you go across brands and calculate an average and not just cherrypicking.
Anyways,I don't expect much from people who haven't built anything in their lives as they always tend to be losers .
Life isn't black and white Mr.

My guy, you don’t have to spread foolish lies to justify your crap na. Shuo! If I didn’t hear of GSK exit before now, I would have believed you. I even had to google search again just to make sure.

You guys will indeed say anything to justify your taskmasters sha. Your colleagues are saying inflation is a global thing and no need to panic. You’re saying it’s because companies are shutting down globally because they feel they shouldn’t be in some markets and hence are focusing on places they are already established!

Like that’s the most foolish thing anyone has said as to why a company that is over fifty years old would decide to leave a market.

This happened because the his APC friends allowed it to happen.

So now Mr Bliss62 will you support Emzor pharmaceuticals or will you tear their business down because it's owned by an Igbo woman?

One idiot agbadorian said GSK left because global companies feel that shouldn’t be in every market and as a result, are pulling out of such markets to focus on established ones.

Smh.
Re: Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour Compares Prices Of Drugs Between January 2023 & Now by Winnin009: 3:14am On Nov 24, 2023
SeaTrade:
You can't takeover any company's shares by force.
They can also decide to buy back all shares and take the company private if that was the case, they didn't become GSK by being ignorant.
I don't whine ,I mustn't buy GSK if I can't afford it ,there are a ton of other brands(imported and local) that do the same thing and are way cheaper.
It is cheaper to run any business by proxy than actual presence, that is of course after effectively building a brand via marketing and have established proper route to market channels.
So why exist in Nigeria and incure billions worth of operating cost and taxes when I can just get a Nigerian representative who bears all the cost and I just put 2 staff there to monitor his activities? undecided

In other words, Coca Cola or Pepsi or any established multinational will make more money if they close down their factories and begin to import finished products for their distributors to sell? Is that what you are implying?

Yes after selling majority stake in their business to a government run mafia the mafia is just going give it back to them. You are very smart. undecided

You think this way because you have no idea how business oversight or brand recognition works.

That last one he wrote about proxy... I’m not a business expert but I don’t think Coca Cola or any similarly established company will make more money by closing down their production plants and have finished goods imported to distributors... the cost of logistics involved is why the company came to open a factory in the first place but I may be wrong. Peter Obi is one of the largest importers of goods

I don't support importation though.

But I once asked a guy why he closed down his slippers-factory to enter into importation..

He said that production in Nigeria is so costly.
And that in the end,, imported goods end up being cheaper sef in most of the cases,, and they will still end up with low sales...

He further explained that the worst enemy of producers in Nigeria is the high cost of diesel. Since there is no constant electricity.
They have to power their heavy machines with big generators.

And another enemy is the high taxes that are paid multiple times under multiple guises.

Still, no cohorent strategy to get this country up and out of the rot. Having realized that the people they lead are have condemned themselves to bearing the burdens of leadership failure there is certainly no haste.

They beef obi for being a major importer but forget that the same obi sold at reasonable prices under previous regimes who were reasonable 10 years ago and had to increase his prices to match the worsening economic situation so that he's not taught the lesson they're trying to teach him and his kinsmen in politics...he's only surviving.😁
