Nursing MSc course go soon start to choke now. Lmao. 💀
Zahra29:

Although health care workers are exempt from the salary threshold increase, they are the only cohort who are now no longer allowed to include any dependants on their visa.

Also the new requirement for an agency or care home to be regulated/aka scrutinised by the CQC will lead to an effective cap on the number of cos/care visas that will be granted

This change will adversely affect a lot of people.

Student's with dependents hoping to get a care visa after schooling won't be able to.

Those on PSV must have expertise that are in high demand to stay back.

What happens to the dependents of those on 3yr care visa's at renewal??

Too many questions to answer

Defo lol. Nurses, doctors and other medical personnel are the only immigrant group to come out unscathed from today's announcement.

Filipino nurses even got a special mention in parliament

I don't think so entirely. Looks more like a systematic cleansing, keep the best and bleep the rest.

Yes,

Anyone requiring a care visa, both in and outside the UK, would be classed as an overseas/foreign care worker

So if a doctor/nurse already working in the UK needs to renew their visa, does this mean their existing dependents would no longer be allowed under their visa?

So those currently with dependents on their care visa have to send their dependents back home? 🤔

Only care workers are to be banned from including dependants on their visa.

No changes to doctors, nurses and other medical workers

Am sure there will still be lots of clarifications later especially on the healthcare route cos there are so many professions on that route apart from doctors and nurses or even care workers.

That’s the uk for you, confusion extravaganza.

The care visa doesn’t cover a doctor/nurse, I believe.

Unlikely to be applied retrospectively.

It will only impact future care visa applicants (from spring 2024)

Edit: edited with the caveat that it remains to be seen if the rules will apply to someone on an existing care visa who needs to renew after spring 2024.

Hi Zahra, can dental therapists (it's under the shortage occupation list) bring in dependants?

Yes that would be fine

Is it classed as NHS medical role? If so, then also exempt from the new salary threshold

Cleverly was asked about this and his response was that they were not forcing anyone to leave their families to come to the UK. He said they had "crunched up the numbers" and they felt there was enough global demand from people wanting to work in care who don't have any dependants

Interesting grin

Omo, nawa for them o!

Will the increment apply to those seeking sponsorship? does it mean that man has to earn at least 38k to be eligible for sponsorship application if one isn't in healthcare?
