Who wouldn't, if you have the means why not give it a try because the change they talked about keeps on degenerating.

And for those who wouldn't jump on that japa ship, best of luck, no be all of us go comot for this country but my plea to you is do not die trying to prove that life will be better someday, your blood will not cleanse the land, in fact, the labor and blood of our heroes past lie in vain in their graves.

Awesome, but how would you mitigate farmers/ herders clash ?
one thing people fail to undestand is the fact that herders dont like grazing thick forests because pf the choice of crops available there. On a plain grassland they know navigation is very easy and their animals are exposed to a wide variety of grass and crops. They hardly invade plantations like that

I am not trying to discourage you, I am only pushing you to do a detailed assessment of what you want if it is your dream to own a rubber farm. When your goals are SMART, they become achievable. That means you can see it, feel it and achieve it. 7years is a long period of waiting hence you have to be thorough with your calculations and analysis.... between 2018-2022, I have invested about 27million in Agriculture I did not buy land because I was gifted lots of family land. There was never a year the business made more than 2million after deducting all expenses ( including paying myself and the workers). I had to gift the business to my parents and focus on more important things.
Then there are things you have not said and you need to let us know. Hell no!

Try to fence your farm now, you can use some billards, bamboo, concrete, etc.

What you highlighted here will even encourage people to japa. After waiting for 7 years before you start recouping your money of about 1.5m monthly. 7 good years. Have you ever heard of time value of money.

People that japa can save up to 10 - 20m in a year. For 7 year years that is 70 - 140m. You can earn up to 10m/year for that money just by investing in government treasury bond without doing anything. This does not include any salary yo are earning

Buy land in clusters of other farmers, you rarely see herders graze where tree crops are, their canopy doesn't favour bush growth
How i wish people crying farmer/herder clash would understand this

Exactly! While he waits for 1.5 in 7 years, his bros in the UK can save up to that amount in a few months and buys a way bigger farm than he has. In fact, he might even rely on those abroad to help fund his agricultural project.

Sorry for your situation.

Please what aspect of agriculture did you invest in? If crops, what crops? If animals, which type?

Thank you.

Exactly. Nigerians don't read. Many just read the topic and jump to comment. Some also read and don't understand and would still make comment along with the topic.

If you are doing fine in Nigeria, you don't need to japa unless if it's by divine instruction from God through His Holy Spirit.

a very foolish statement from my bishop. You are in Sokoto, tell me how many northerners are JAPAring? Rather they come down south and the southerners(Christains) are leaving to inslave themselves in the west. When is time to come back, they will come back to a Muslim community.

This will likely happen in an ideal situation. If you’d do this, please consider PESTLE.

Politically, the environment isn’t secured for farmers. It’s one news of attack to killing of farmers. Government is playing to the gallery with anchor borrowers’ program, hence your value chain to yield that return is not solid.

How about the environment? Anything can happen and diseases can infest. So you have to insure.

Social, Technological, Legal and Economic environment has to be sampled well before going into the business.

My two cents.
