lavida001: Chief, it was a survival job at that time. Like many have said we come and do some jobs just to make ends when the desired was not forthcoming. I guess because of my work ethic I found myself in some position of responsibility. Knowing the struggle fellow immigrants go through you try to make things easier but at the end of the day it almost always comes back to bite you in the behind. That is why sometimes I don't blame some people for not helping other people. We are a complicated people. |

I think you overlooked one aspect of the entire situation. When you experienced the two white ticket attendants, you were alone unlike when you experienced the black attendant ....you were with your family. That may have been the ice breaker there. He has a job to protect and by extension family to feed. We don't know if in the past he's been reprimanded for whatever reason, with cameras around, he just had to issue you the ticket fine. If on the other hand, he gave you a fine but let go of another passenger with same issue, then you can complain with your full chest out. The last time a black attendant checked my railcard and went on to the next passenger, when we alighted at the station I was getting off from, our eyes caught and he thumbs me up ....I'm sure he thought he was going to use me as a scapegoat that day but was disappointed ehizario2012: 1 Like |

bigtt76: They usually go around asking everyone, or on some services they simply don’t ask anyone. I used the train A LOT until very recently and I have been asked to show my railcard by a variety of people, with the vast majority being white. The one time I had an issue with loading up the app, the black rail guy just told me to get it sorted because I’d likely be asked when exiting the station I was getting off at. What does that prove though? Nothing. The plural of anecdote is anecdotes, not evidence. Attempting to extrapolate individual experiences to cast a group of people as having any particular character (whether positive or negative) always leads to nothing but prejudice. 11 Likes 1 Share |

ehizario2012: Do you actually board a train before buying ticket or you're supposed to buy ticket before boarding. I know the fine for being in a train without ticket is £100. Modified: So after reading a few more responses, I can see the OP was ignorantly at fault, unfortunately, ignorance is not an excuse. One time I did live chat with customer care rep and made a request which was granted, another time I made the same request but this time around, the live agent that attended to me said such requests cannot be granted via live chat, told her I have gotten such request granted via live chat before and her response was that it was wrong and the agent that granted me could be in trouble if caught. Moral lesson: that it happened before does not mean it was right, it could have wrongfully happened. 1 Like |

Zahra29: I am not letting this situation give me hypertension abeg, would alot not change with the NHS trusts now because of the application bombardments? Do NHS have the capacity to accommodate care workers who would want to leave private care homes/support to join NHS due to the promise of sponsorship? And does NHS sponsor foreign workers directly from outside the country by way of issuing CoS? So many questions "tawo tase" inside my stomach |

I pay taxes on all my income as do everyone without this "non-dom status" . I ve even had my taxes increased recently because the UK ran out of money. why are they special? They should be taxed for everything before anyone else asks me for more money. Lying is always bad nomatter who does it. She is clearly domiciled here , why Claim she isn't. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/apr/07/rishi-sunaks-wife-says-its-not-relevant-to-say-where-she-pays-tax-overseas Peerielass: |

ehizario2012: NHS will now have their pick of candidates. I imagine their selection criteria will become stricter and they will lean towards candidates with prior experience and qualifications. No need for them to actively recruit outside the UK, as they now have an oversupply within the UK. 3 Likes |
