Onyi In one of her interviews after the World Cup said she isn’t going to Play in the NWSL after College Soccer..

She said she want to be closer to her Family, If she goes to England which Clubs could be her possible pick?

To me Arsenal Ladies as she’s a product of their Academy but gain Arsenal have a lot of players in midfield Kim Little in the Attacking Midfield, Dutch girl Pelova is also there..
Manchester United Maybe..
Manchester City Maybe..
Tottenham Hotspur Maybe.. any other Club In England could be a No for me..

But Juventus seems to be the Top Club in the Party..!

Let’s wait and see as January is upon us already..!

The issue I have with Ajibade is that she oftentimes lacks the ability to see the big picture when she plays.
Specifically, she plays with her head down - always wanting to dribble and not seek out the quick pass or spot the open person. This, to me, is the big downside of her game.
Chukwueze and Okocha are prime examples of people who play that way and that gets you nowhere in this day and age.
She really needs to refine her game and become more ‘team’ oriented. Otherwise, she will end up being another ‘run of the mill’ player, and not a superstar. One would have thought giving her the captaincy would have helped change her mindset, but it seems to have made it worse.

For me, the next potential CAF WPOY candidates from Nigeria are:
1. Jen Echeghini
2. Debbie Abiodun (maybe)

The rest just don’t have that wow factor in them to make a significant impact on the continental or global stage.
But, who knows…
Deltamani:

As for that ZEE Like revelation? Hmmm🧐
Who are those on the mix? Is it Ajakaye? Big9 Akekoromowei? I can’t say…

But we surely have them now that can steal the show in few years times..

••• Rasheedat Ajibade
••• Onyi Echegini

Then maybe the likes of Esther Okoronkwo, Uchenna Kanu, Rinsola Babajide and some others have the talents to steal the show if they do the on and off stuffs. Then also get to the spotlight with their Clubside..

Yeah yeah I Missed out on Deborah Abeodun name but again she plays deep in the Midfield though her work rate is always well noticeable..
One of the reasons I picked Onyi was because of her Position which is Behind the strikers or Wide on the Flank especially the Left Side as she’s good a getting herself in Goalscoring Positions unlike the rest of our Midfielders..

About Rash you’re right she really needs to improve on her end products like the goals and Assists. But again I kind of see her as the Rapinoe of the SuperFalcons who makes things happen from the flank as a Play maker but the poor side of it is that she doesn’t have those exceptional final deliveries like Rapinoe but again

Rasheedat is the most Brilliant Winger we have right now just that she need to put herself in the World Class position like Agba Baller..

I did watch the SuperFalcons World Cup game against Australia🇦🇺 this afternoon, I won’t lie Rash is quality.. Randy almost got his Substitution wrong in that game especially when he brought in Glory Ogbonna for Ashleigh Plumptre, the Left side became so weak thank God for Christy Ucheibe who had to slot into the CB position occasionally in between Ohale and Demehin..

Happy for Elisha in her start against CFF Madrid last weekend.
Sad that, after she was subbed out in the 66th min, her team went on to concede 2 goals to lose the game.

I see the following forming the bedrock of the SF central midfield CM roles for years to come.
1. Echegini
2. Ucheibe
3. Ajibola
4. Sulola.

They possess defensive grit, brawn and have the lungs to man the CM position. Also are intelligent players who understand the rules and responsibilities of the position.

Exciting times ahead.

The left side of our defense is highly suspect. As I had rightly observed and predicted, Ogbonna isn’t good enough. Never was.
Likewise, I am beginning to wane in my support for Rofiat - she was 💯 responsible for the CPV goal - she completely lost her marker. She had yet to be consistent- granted, she is still very young, though. We really need a quality LB, ASAP!!!. I like Nicole, but not sure what’s happening with her.

The best alternative is Ashleigh, but she needs to start playing as a CB and not as a makeshift LB.

Valencia Coach got it wrong substituting them, the moment he did that the midfield collapsed and Madrid CFF did justice…

The good thing about Sulola is that she’s Left Footed which is something that has been missing in our Midfield, we needed a Left footed midfielder to complement things.. Her height again is another Plus as she can win aerials ball and be useful during set pieces..

Another GoodNews today is that Halimatu Ayinde is Back… She should be fully fit and ready against Cameroon 🇨🇲 next year.!

Glory Ogbonna was never good enough, average Speed and not even a SuperFalcon Material, Imuran is pretty young still U20 and have enough time to grow unlike Glory who’s already 25yrs and haven’t convinced us till date after so many chances!! I think Glory would have been better Playing CB.

The good thing is that Nicole Payne can Play on both sides but again she really need to work her way into PSG starting 11 which is pretty difficult but achievable with time or better still go on Loan for game time in January TF window.

Esther Ajakaye still has a chance though as she has one of the biggest assets of the modern game which is the SPEED. If she can work on the other aspect of the game then she’s good to go..
Her shooting inside box and creating for others should get better over time. Sometimes i feel she may be converted from her natural position consequently.

Yeah Yeah….
Ajibade is definitely on the rise..

Onyi Echegini with her exploit in the US College Soccer, Big European Clubside should be on the door knocking right now as she’s arguably among the top3 Best Players in the NCAA Division..

One Advantage she has again is her ability to
Score goals as a Midfielder which sets her ahead of her mates.!

I’m not really a Fan of Juventus Women though but if that rumour turns out to be true it’s a big move then, But AS Roma is currently no.1 in Italy while Juventus have fallen down to no.2

AS Roma doing like Pep's Man City lately. Hot and building rep. Cant wait for her. Then there's Toni too.

The competition for the 18 spots on the Olympics team (if we qualify) would be one of the most intense ever.
Na why I want IOC and FIFA to increase the squad sizes to at least 21 😁

I just watched the full game now. Although plumptre was not convincing in that position, but Glory Ogbonna was quiet casual damn. The winger got past her several times but for Ucheibe who knew watz up and covered for her closely, about 2 or 3 dangerous opportunities would have been created from her wing.

I think left to FIFA I believe they have no problem. But that IOC na the issue.

She still went to the world cup get over it. Cry a river and move on. U guys lost ur credibility when u were crying about Demehin starting at CB.

Actually, it’s FIFA that has mostly insisted on that squad size partly because they do not want any competition to rival their senior WCs, including squad sizes

Among the 3 of them Ashleigh Plumptre seems to be the number 1 for now even though her Speed is average, she’s positionally good and knows when to burst forward or relax behind..

Anyway just because a Player isn’t good now means that we should cover everything up and not speak about it? This was a game I did watch again yesterday during my free time and I had to point one or two out how we could have possibly lost or draw the game with poor substitution..

Omor the thing be say Glory Ogbonna no good oo, if the word vex you, you fit still go hire personal coach for her mk then train her more.

Alright I have ur time. I just watched the game once again.

She gets nutmegged in the 79th minute and then she has a poor touch (which we kept the ball) at the 83 minutes mark. Outside that she didn't do a single thing wrong.

81 Cuts off a dangerous cross in the box
87 Wins throwing to take away pressure
90 clears ball out of box then wisely steps out the way of an unrushing attacker
90+1 Closes in on an attacker to cover for Tosin
90+5 Nice long ball to Oshoala

It's a shame that u don't have anything better to do than continue ur hateful campaign against Glory Ogbonna. All u are doing is exposing ur self hating mentality.

Basco you're better than this. You can disagree with him and strongly so without resorting to ad hominem and wrongly characterising intentions. Many people here do not fancy Ogbonna as a player (myself inclusive) and we share our opinion on her. It's the same way many do not fancy Onumonu or Ihueozu or many other players. The multiplicity of thoughts even amidst disagreement is what makes this thread beautiful. We shouldn't now resort to name calling or using strong words on ourselves, it won't end well.

Only God knows intentions so you can't really speak to it. So it's really unfair to conclude that commentary on Ogbonna is a "hateful campaign" then implying Deltamani has a "self hating mentality". Those are strong words and I'll really implore you to tone down. Again you can disagree but let's try to be civil.

But aside this, Ogbonna has had time to own that left back position way before the arrival of Rofiat, Plumptre, and Nicole. She just didn't give that much since her outstanding performances in 2018/2019. She's not a bad player but haven't given me (in particular) the required confidence.

I do not fancy Plumptre for that position as well just that she is better going forward than Ogbonna but Plumptre can be easily dribbled there by a fast winger. Plumptre is better at the center together with Ohale.

I am yet to see much of Nicole Payne.

Still watching Rofiat Imuran. Rofiat is quality just like Ogbonna was in 2019 but she has a lot to learn.

In summary (from my point of view), we don't have a reliable left back yet, hence we need to search for one or two more in the Nigerian league.

Imuran hasn't settled into the LB role because more than half the time she plays as a forward in her club. For a young player trying to find herself this can be deeply unsettling. It's why you'll notice she's improving on the offensive front but not much defensively.

At the end of the day, it boils down to how we set up to play. This will largely determine the severity of the need. For instance, if we play a back 3, it means you give players like Imuran/Nicole/Alozie more latitude for offensive runs. I however agree we need to settle this wing back situation in the team.

It is not hateful campaign, it is an honest criticism.
The last time we criticized Oshoala for missing so many chances here, we know how everything ends especially the strange moniker aspect.

I think Ashleigh and Tosin met Ogbonna in the team. Both are now ahead of her in the pecking order. If Maureen should join the team tomorrow, Ogbonna will get dropped.

Why? she is not doing enough to justify she deserves to be in the team.
