In addition to @enque post. You can actually invest in MMF with any amount from 5k at anytime and withdrawal is also possible at anytime.
However, if withdrawal is made within the first 30 days you lose 20% on the accrued interest on the amount you are withdrawing.
If you are yet to open MMF account, click the first link on my signature and complete the online form. Within 24hrs your account will be opened. Otherwise just deposit the 1million in your existing MMF account and get both your accrued interest and capital at the end of the one month.

You can chat me up if you need further guidance.

Good day sir, please does mmf interest rate fluctuates?

Mutual funds generally are pull of funds from individuals and corporate bodies managed by a professional called the fund manager.

There are different mutual funds which are mostly named based on the underlying asset.

Equity funds as the name implies have the underlying assets as shares of quoted companies, which means the money invested by investors who subscribed to Equity fund is solely invested in shares hence they belong to the High-risk type of mutual funds. The value fluctuates according to the prices of equities. If the stock market is doing well, the fund does the same, and vice versa.
Investors can lose their capital and gains in Equity funds. There is nothing guaranteed.

On the other hand balance funds have underlying assets divided into various instruments like equities, real estate, and money market instruments, that is how it derives the name balance. The fund managers tend to balance up the assets with different instruments with some low-risk, medium, and high-risk instruments

The reason most balance funds are doing well generally this year is that there has been a long bullish run in the equity market this year and at the same time rates are increasing because of inflation rates in the money market and fixed-income instruments.

For all investments, balance fund inclusive follow your investment objectives so that you will not be greedy or fearful.

The least risky of them all is the money market fund.

Click on the link on my signature to open money market fund, Fixed income fund or both.
They are low risk funds - capital and interest guaranteed.

Yes it does because the rates are daily valued but it's not volatile ie the fluctuations in rate is not sharp it revolves round a particular figure. It's currently at the range of 8 to 12.5% in the industry.

For how long could this last?

One may not be able to predict that. Many factors are involved paricularly economic policies of the country and other investment windows. Mainwhile enjoy it while it last because no matter how short or long, it's only those that invest in the fund that get benefits.
