Chiamaka Nnadozie with a player of the match performance for Paris FC in their away UWCL win at Madrid.
What's going on with Halimatu? When is she expected back?

She is back, was on the bench during their First Leg game against Barca.. I was expecting to see her play maybe 10 to 15 minutes yesterday but she didn’t make the team to Spain.. Hopefully we would get to see her Play next month

Chelsea Academy midfielder Ashanti Akpan signs first professional contract

Chelsea are delighted to confirm that Academy midfielder Ashanti Akpan has signed with the club until the summer of 2025, with the option to extend by a further year.

Having joined the Blues in August 2013, Akpan has been with the club since the age of seven. During that time, she has lifted silverware including the FA Youth Cup in 2021/22 and the FA WSL Academy Cup in 2022/23.

After success at Academy level, the 18-year-old was rewarded with her first-team debut for Chelsea in March last season. She came off the bench as a second half substitute in a 3-1 victory over Reading at the quarter-final stage of the Women’s FA Cup.

On the international stage, the dynamic central midfielder has represented England at youth level from Under-15s to Under-18s, while also captaining the Under-19 squad during one of their recent outings.

After committing her immediate future to Chelsea, Akpan said: ‘It’s such a special and proud moment for me to sign my first professional contract at my childhood club. I’ve been here since I was seven years old, so it really has always been Chelsea for me.

‘Being the place where I’ve grown up, it means so much more. I’m very grateful to my teammates, the staff and my family who have done so much on and off the pitch to make me the player I am today. I’m really excited for the future.’

General Manager Paul Green commented: ‘We’re really pleased to offer Ashanti her first professional contract. She has developed very well in the Academy, she’s a very technical player and has been outstanding in that programme.

‘She has been with us since she was seven years old and has come all the way through the pathway. We look forward to seeing how she continues to develop over the upcoming years.’

Everyone at Chelsea would like to congratulate Ashanti on her first professional contract, and we wish her every success for the years to come.

It might be her highlight and part of the total game but what's this total lack of awareness from her teammates defending? Including their Gk doing onanana esque divings? See how that one is strolling instead of defending. Only for Christy to end that attack. I've counted 8 so far. I'm not even focusing on Christy.😂😂😂

That's a terrible backline without Christy Ucheibe in it. Kante baby. Everywhere at the right time!!

Imagine her in a Roberto Carlos role.

This is even bringing more light to how that dressing room atmosphere is. She's evidently playing maturity there. She win something and they're whispering and giving subtle jeers? My respect for Salma just went up a notch. Big time haters.

Zee too. Her face kon be like she dey fear🤣🤣
Or she heard some whispers as well. Smh

That's true. The academy in Nigeria alone is enough evidence.

Paris FC would make much sense though I doubt they can win the champions league even with Oshoala but they would perform way better with her though.

They can win it this season. I wouldn't bet my house on it but it is very possible. They have good players and a very good coach. Nobody would want to face them in the next round.

Paris FC doesn't have the kind of defense that can win the champions league from my point of view.
