You can't force an unwilling horse.
The Saka's, Olise, Musiala's etc have at no time indicated even a slight interest in playing for Nigeria..A total non starter.
Maybe in Complete Sports and beer parlour gossip but anyone sane knew it was dead on arrival.
Truth is the best young players wouldn't even think twice if given a choice.
Nigeria has to settle for players like Iwobi, Lookman.. who are are attainable cause they have no hope of say an England or Germany call up

I might just be one of the few SE fans that is not really keen about these foreign borns. For goodness sake let them be!

We have our own proven way of getting getting quality players thru the production line and that is the youth team.

All the world class players we've ever produced have been thru the youth teams.

Ikpeba, kanu, Taribo, Okocha, Babayaro, Mikel and now Osimhen have come thru the youth ranks.

The only exception is of course Victor Moses.

There was a time the foreign borns were not even eligible to play for us and we did just fine. Now, we lazily look up to them to fix every hole, real or imagined , in the NT.

We all don't want to talk about Victor Osimhen's recent lack of commitment and lackadaisical attitude to the super eagles

Even after his club released him early before Christmas, Osimhen was still the last player to arrive camp. Arriving after players who had club duties as late as 2nd of January.
Even Boniface and Omeruo whom he was seen partying together hit the camp early.

If Osimhen, a home grown star can not show commitment, what do we expect foreign players to do? Osimhen is currently a role model to his mates, is this the way he should lead?

Ahmed Musa, who was comparing commitment of home grown stars should know that his argument is flawed as you obviously can't compare iwobi's commitment to Osimhen recently

Pinnick wasn't trying to stop shite.. he indulged in it when he was Warri Wolves chairman, shortly before he became NFF president...
If you think Pinnick did anything notable to try and improve our league, youre mistaken... The league currently looks better than it was when he was in charge... The LMC he created has since been disbanded

Excuse me Pinnick create LMC

Which indulged, was NBA a player of Enugu Rangers then or Warri wolves player

pls be saying what you know, no talk out cos of emotions

And we have enough players that will flourish in that WB role because many of them have the lungs and are good in attack. Zaidu, Aina, Bruno, the guy playing for Fenerbahce, even Simon.

Our crop of players have 3-5-2 written all over it due to the scarcity of creative midfoelders, underperfoming wingers and the pretorea of strikers at our disposal.

We don't only have a figurehead as coach, NFF are full of empty heads. We shall see who comes in after Pajero is gone. Na wetin go determine my hope come the remainder of 2026 WCQ be dat.

I've switch to playing and watching PS.
SE will give so many heart attack.

As Super Eagle is the most valuable team in Africa going into this tournament, I expect nothing less than semis. Anything short of this, is a failure.

you sef try to dey calm down. You don run see Lack of commitment and lackadaisical attitude just because him enter camp one day him after others enter. It was somehow but no way does it signify lack of commitment. The way you are going on about this thing, one would be mistaken to think this has been his behavior for a while.

To be honest. Akanji, Saka, Musiala and Olise were/are very unlikely to be won over by the SE. Leave the fact that afrobeats and Naija culture is now “cool” / en vouge. 10 years ago when most of these players were teens, being African wasn’t as cool as it is today in the West. Most of the Euro dual nationals have more affinity to their Euro nations.

To me, Eze is the more painful one because there was genuine interest on his part but we failed to act quickly enough. And he’s the type of midfielder we need that can pick out a pass, drive with the ball but is also good on set pieces.

With Alaba, I heard there was some promise early on but once he was established at Bayern, Austria did the needful.

Tomori is another one I’m hurt about. Our CBs need a massive upgrade and I could have seen him being a stalwart for us for many years to come.

We have to start acting like France/England and capping the dual nationals we think have potential early on. Tosin at Fulham should be one of the first on our list of players to flip.

Agreed without question ❓

england's squad has always been Among the most valuable in the world going into any tournament for a long time now but those fellas last touched a trophy in 1966 and have only been in one final since then. No be most valuable dem dey take play ball. You better put your mind at rest and watch afcon without pressure. Super eagles resemble team wey fit perform for your eyes?

This has nothing to do with commitment but systems that has groomed them. The Nigerian system is one of anyhow and carefree. While in the UK their lifestyle is mostly timed, you get to the train at a particular time, bus never waits when u are not on time. In Nigeria we don't have such problems. If you miss the bus at the park, move forward a little bit you will find "sole" (cheap quick price) that's the habit of a Nigerian. The idea that we will always find a way to navigate or deal with what we should be time conscious of is not a burden for us.

Who wants to play for a coach who is tactically and technically inept?.
Osimhen has always given his all while dorning the green white green.

Osimhen ain't happy with Jpes,it was clear against the friendly game against Saudi Arabia.

If na me, I will feign injury self

We are going into Afcon with a weak defense, thin and shaky midfield and a loose goalkeeping department.

Many of the players are not happy with Jpes style of play and his stubbornness to keep playing Uzoho.

I was opportuned to talk to a player in the team,he raised the aforementioned points. He even said Jpes is the worst national team coach he has ever worked with.

I don't hype my G I only give unbiased fact based analysis wink Jokes apart Benjamin from what I saw in the U20s is a very promising player. Reports say he has been doing well with the Brentford B Team which is commendable considering this is his first time in Europe. Hope he lives up to his potential.

Since i began reading Complete Sports when it was 20Naira, till now that I'm getting old, I have never seen a Nigerian Ref make it to international repute. That's a span of more than 2decades. Are these guys cursed or unambitious? 5 women refs at Afcon and Nigeria can't even boast of at least one rep. One rep is enough. See as Southern Africa dey carry the thing for head like say na FIFA trophy

Something needs to be done. And please, don't bring some news about "they are trying"

Don't bring 4th official gist too.

Based on Afcon standard, I don't think we have a weak defense. The problem is that the coach looks dumb. I hear he plans pairing Omeruo with Bassey, I think Omeruo should be coming in towards the end of matches to secure wins. Awaziem is the best pair for Bassey honestly

I won't be surprised if Ndidi's relevance in the team drops. Onyedika n Alhassan are great defensive midfielders n will make us forget Ndidi, but that's if the coach will not go n play iwobi in DM🤣🤣
