I don't care if you hate Oliseh, but to say Mikel and Emenike have legendary status than him is just hate taken too far.

I can even forgive you if you mention Mikel, but to add Emenike to it is just the height of it. Who is Emenike beside Oliseh? Seems like you have taken too much wine.

The only legendary figure of the three is Enyeama.

As per the story, we all know Oliseh to be strong-headed. He was himself a rebellious captain and caucus leader who had a lot of player power/clout in the Super Eagles (who took after Stephen Keshi.) That was why he was forcefully sent into retirement in 2002 because even the NFF could not clip his wings.

Nevertheless, he was a technically gifted player. Arguably the best defensive midfielder we have had.

They even sent the father of the young lad away from their compound when the old man came to inquire about the son's journey to greatness. Since Churchill was the Agent then.

I used to think like you until I watched tapes of the Green Eagles where Oliseh was throwing long passes from deep in Nigeria's half and he was making the ball go anywhere he wanted it to go. He would tidy up Okocha's lapses, and throw one long pass almost across the whole pitch and the ball would simply find any of Yekini or Amuneke or any of the strikers we had then.

He played in those days when the light was always heavily on strikers or attacking midfielders. Despite being a defensive midfielder, he was voted the third best player in Africa in 1998.

Yes you are right. Oliseh wasn't better than the late Muda Lawal, Mikel, Okocha or Mutiu Adepoju. They have been many other fantastic midfielders in the past who had character and they weren't as quarrelsome as the conceited Oliseh

And to even say Mutiu was a better midfielder than Oliseh is laughable.

In football team, whether country or clubs. There are players are that way above and that's normal. How you manage them as a new coach is what is important. For me, he failed in that aspect.
You want to phase out certain players, you do it gradually and not on your first day because they will make your life a hell with failures.

Either you played football for a few clubs at different levels or knew someone that did because you have stated it all at the bolded part.

This was, is and always be the case. Any coach that doesn't respect that dynamic will fail and fail badly.

Oliseh was immature and that is surprising considering he was a (very good) defensive midfielder, a position I am fascinated by and one that required maturity and cool headedness as a mandatory attribute.

Mikel served his fatherland for 16 years and recently was in Nigeria promoting grassroots football but to you he has forgotten his root,just cuz he aired his view on Oliseh.

I'm not really concerned about their beef but these nairalanders are just pathetic, imagine insulting someone because of his accent — this is how Nigerians keep attacking me because of how I speak despite the fact I still speak pidgin proudly.

There are some football managers who did not last 1 month in their club.

Olise was very successful in his first Dutch club and he also lasted for long time there and achieved greatly with them.

Anyways, olisa will always be ahead of mikel and the last thing u will see is olisa responding to mikel's accusations and no big Nigerian former or present footballer will make any comment in regards to mikel's accusations. That will show u the gap. By the way, mikel is guilty of all his accusation too.

Oliseh won AFCON and was an integral member of the Super Eagles squad that qualified Nigeria to her first world Cup appearance, Mikel and those you mentioned can never touch Oliseh's legacy in the National team.
