Use the money to learn digital skills, forex, uiux, web development etc or basically buy dollars and enjoy profit almost everyday.

Another concern of mine is that the future of legal profession is reducing because of the amount clients are paying particularly in the area of agreement and other things.

Definitely, I won't be selling the house if I decide to relocate, the rent from the two flats will go to my mom and the least could only be 500k per year. I won't have issues sending money at home.

Please, I really need advice from lawyers that are there, how do you cope migrating. Is it advisable I leave, if yes, what are the first things I might encounter, if am relocating it will be with my family. I just don't want to regret relocating. The exchange rate is just too much

Is not easy over there too, you can continuing doing what you do in Nigeria, yeah just have the mind set of building here, because the cost of going abroad and financing abroad living life style is still in the high side, and there are people sleeping on the street in abroad,. So don't forget that, just be careful with your decision.

It's one of the times where I'd strongly advise you speak with people of similar standing. Hopefully you get some good advise here. You're not doing badly in NG and one would argue you could consider scaling back home

Most on NL would be talking outta ignorance. Sadly to many, what you're earning is heaven and they'd struggle to see things from your view.

Given you're above 30, getting in thru express entry is a time game. Another is visit (visa takes ages) and observe for yourself.
Can't advise more for now

It's not going to be easy or rosy. You need a lot of will-power to get back to the same position you currently are in Naija and progress from there.

Let's start with the major issues. Most of Canada is cold, brutally cold for some months of the year. You will need to deal with that with good jackets, boots and possibly, a car.

Secondly, to practice here, you need to complete the NCA requirements (usually 6 courses) and find an articling position. A few provinces like Ontario offer exemption from articling but articling has its advantages. Finding a paid articling position can be tough for foreign-trained lawyers but not impossible.

You may want to apply to law adjacent positions after studies and then complete the NCA requirements and articling.

There are Nigerian lawyers with successful law careers in Canada and you could be one too, with some détermination.
NB- Since you are coming as a student, I will advise you come with lots of money.

a candid advice. If your writeup is true, japa to Canada or Australia. Age and good job is on your side. Don't think twice, don't listen to anyone else, move.
It was a mistake that I made. Not moving when my mates were moving. Though earning very well, but the whole insecurity is affecting me at the moment, but the zeal no dey again. So just move, it's the best decision you make.

anybody that earns upto 1m monthly in Nigeria does not have a business with relocating abroad.

You're already living fine. Why do you want to Jakpa?
To Jakpa means to start all over again. This will put the family under undue pressure and stress.
You can plan and go on holidays with your family.

You would have to decide on your own if leaving Nigeria would be beneficial to you or not.

I have seen both sides of the coin -some have become extremely successful and some have failed miserably and it does not matter what profession you are in.

The main issue is the lack of a clear objective. You must have a detailed plan.

while I will still advice you to migrate. Just know that you won't be practicing law when you are in Canada. Just think of a different career path when you get there. Doctors and Lawyers find it difficult to practice after leaving their countries, there is a lot of process to it.

As long as you are not selling your house. It's OK to japa. Japa is not only about making money. Some people just feel OK being born in a small village. Live their lives grow old and die in that same village without exploring the world. Japa is a vibe and another life on its own. Just open your mind to the fun part of it. And as long as you ain't lazy you will definitely do better abroad than you are doing in naija. Its still a personal decision at the end of the day so you know what is good for you.
